Jeremiah did have an enormous relief to be taken out of the acting King, Babylonian cuneiform, thousands upon thousands, clearly and boldly tell of dates and the prison records telling about the food requirements of the true King Zedekiah. Even the timing of moving King Zedekiah from prison to Emperor Nebuchadnezzar II's table.
Nebuchadnezzar would appear to be a Prince among men. We know from Scriptures this was not to last in Nebuchadnezzar's pride. The waters of Babylon would betray Nebuchadnezzer. The Historian Herodotus describes Cyrus invaded by damming the rivers and merely riding over the Enormous City Walls we can find in German museums today.
Through the Ishtar Gate, we would have seen Ezekiel, the House of David, King Zechariah, Daniel and almost all the nobles who were God's Children fall into slavery. Jeremiah spoke for the Lord.
Lush Babylon set in the Rivers of God's Garden of Eden are going to fall.
2 “Declare among the nations and proclaim,
set up a banner and proclaim,
conceal it not, and say:
‘Babylon is taken,
Bel is put to shame,
Merodach is dismayed.
Her images are put to shame,
her idols are dismayed.’
3 “For out of the north a nation has come up against her, which shall make her land a desolation, and none shall dwell in it; both man and beast shall flee away.
4 “In those days and in that time, declares the Lord, the people of Israel and the people of Judah shall come together, weeping as they come, and they shall seek the Lord their God. 5 They shall ask the way to Zion, with faces turned toward it, saying, ‘Come, let us join ourselves to the Lord in an everlasting covenant that will never be forgotten.’
6 “My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds have led them astray, turning them away on the mountains. From mountain to hill they have gone. They have forgotten their fold. 7 All who found them have devoured them, and their enemies have said, ‘We are not guilty, for they have sinned against the Lord, their habitation of righteousness, the Lord, the hope of their fathers.’
8 “Flee from the midst of Babylon, and go out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as male goats before the flock. 9 For behold, I am stirring up and bringing against Babylon a gathering of great nations, from the north country. And they shall array themselves against her. From there she shall be taken. Their arrows are like a skilled warrior who does not return empty-handed. 10 Chaldea shall be plundered; all who plunder her shall be sated, declares the Lord.
11 “Though you rejoice, though you exult,
O plunderers of my heritage,
though you frolic like a heifer in the pasture,
and neigh like stallions,
12 your mother shall be utterly shamed,
and she who bore you shall be disgraced.
Behold, she shall be the last of the nations,
a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.
13 Because of the wrath of the Lord she shall not be inhabited
but shall be an utter desolation;
everyone who passes by Babylon shall be appalled,
and hiss because of all her wounds.
14 Set yourselves in array against Babylon all around,
all you who bend the bow;
shoot at her, spare no arrows,
for she has sinned against the Lord.
15 Raise a shout against her all around;
she has surrendered;
her bulwarks have fallen;
her walls are thrown down.
For this is the vengeance of the Lord:
take vengeance on her;
do to her as she has done.
16 Cut off from Babylon the sower,
and the one who handles the sickle in time of harvest;
because of the sword of the oppressor,
every one shall turn to his own people,
and every one shall flee to his own land.
17 “Israel is a hunted sheep driven away by lions. First the king of Assyria devoured him, and now at last Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has gnawed his bones. 18 Therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I am bringing punishment on the king of Babylon and his land, as I punished the king of Assyria. 19 I will restore Israel to his pasture, and he shall feed on Carmel and in Bashan, and his desire shall be satisfied on the hills of Ephraim and in Gilead. 20 In those days and in that time, declares the Lord, iniquity shall be sought in Israel, and there shall be none, and sin in Judah, and none shall be found, for I will pardon those whom I leave as a remnant.
21 “Go up against the land of Merathaim,
and against the inhabitants of Pekod.
Kill, and devote them to destruction,
declares the Lord,
and do all that I have commanded you.
22 The noise of battle is in the land,
and great destruction!
23 How the hammer of the whole earth
is cut down and broken!
How Babylon has become
a horror among the nations!
24 I set a snare for you and you were taken, O Babylon,
and you did not know it;
you were found and caught,
because you opposed the Lord.
Ancient History? The Blood spilled in circa 1500 A.D. about the time of Elizabeth I's Reign demolished the Catholic Church seeking indulgences, yes. Latin Masses. Not teaching enough literacy. The Printing Press. The end of the Monasteries. But Henry VIII saw his bloodbath on the Catholic Church monasteries, cause England to have 1 in 3 people would starve to death.
The weather of Elizabeth II (who declared in the Words of Jesus, John 4, all men must worship God in their hearts and ended Religions Persecution she herself had fallen into the Tower of London to experience) was of water. The Thames would freeze solid, allowing the river to become a highway unseen before for trade. The barges could travel up to 40 mph (ca. 64 km/h). Unheard of in the 1590s. Trade flourished. Elizabeth read the Bible every day for an hour. She enjoyed composing hymns. Like King David, she had her outrageous flaws.
Ancient History? The Word of God is alive. When my son went to Russia for vacation in 2010, Siberia was burning. Not just a little. When we were in 2018 Alaska, smoke clogged the skies from all the Western Coast through British Columbia. Why British Columbia. We all have flaws we could point to.
Babylon experienced Climate Change. We can indeed boo and hiss. Yet, God is our Maker.
Climate Change. Would taxes change the weather of an entire world. Would the little Ice Age of Elizabeth ever change. 1970s experienced so much snow, the USA Government wondered if Russia could control the weather. Weather changes. We see John Muir saw Glaciers melt. What would be their flaws, maybe, maybe the massive killing spree of the animals. Otters were unseen, not found and almost annihilated.
Every 500 Years, the Will of God is Boldly Experienced
Today, Climate Change Solutions? Really? Wind Technologies kills the birds. Let's be more aware than Mao of the need for birds in our Ecology. Noah sent out a dove to find life on earth. (The UK went first in wind technologies and now urges UK people to put out food for missing flocks of wild birds.) We find in the land fills the new LED lights aren't beneficial, yet we continue. We see the Lithium Battery is hard to mine and hard to throw away, yet we continue. Remember when we knew Natural Gas was emission less? We know washing machines and driers clog our waste systems, and we don't change planned obsolescence. Not gathering the old units, like mattresses are gathered. What else is killed for comforts?
When facts irritate people. Then should we adapt the facts? Jeremiah did not. Nebuchadnezzar would go on to repent. The Historian Herodotus records Nebuchadnezzar II recovered and spoke of with certainty the end of the Chaldean Empire he had loved, the end of his line. Nebuchadnezzar realized in good health, the Will of God will be done.
And all would go forth.
The Lord has the Whole World in His Hands.
We just do better as we look to the Lord first and then enjoy His Love and Mercy.
It's a time of great uncertainty.
Why speak out?
Thank You God for the Reason for the Steadfast Love.

We thank You in Jesus Christ for our blessings of Strength and fire in the Holy Spirit.

Blessed are You Lord God. In Jesus. Amen.
One of the most ancient of Christian inscriptions,
"God fishes among the Living!"
