Mark 1:16-39 ~ and followed Him

Mark 1:16-39

As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 17 "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will send you out to fish for people." 18 At once they left their nets and followed him.

19 When he had gone a little farther, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John in a boat, preparing their nets. 20 Without delay he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him.

21 They went to Capernaum, and when the Sabbath came, Jesus went into the synagogue and began to teach. 22 The people were amazed at his teaching, because he taught them as one who had authority, not as the teachers of the law. 23 Just then a man in their synagogue who was possessed by an evil spirit cried out, 24 "What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!"

25 "Be quiet!" said Jesus sternly. "Come out of him!" 26 The evil spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a shriek.

27 The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, "What is this? A new teaching—and with authority! He even gives orders to evil spirits and they obey him." 28 News about him spread quickly over the whole region of Galilee.

29 As soon as they left the synagogue, they went with James and John to the home of Simon and Andrew. 30 Simon's mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they immediately told Jesus about her. 31 So he went to her, took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her and she began to wait on them.

32 That evening after sunset the people brought to Jesus all the sick and demon-possessed. 33 The whole town gathered at the door, 34 and Jesus healed many who had various diseases. He also drove out many demons, but he would not let the demons speak because they knew who he was.

35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. 36 Simon and his companions went to look for him, 37 and when they found him, they exclaimed: "Everyone is looking for you!"

38 Jesus replied, "Let us go somewhere else—to the nearby villages—so I can preach there also. That is why I have come." 39 So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.

Meeting Life's Demands by Ray Stedman

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed  (Mark 1:35).

After this full day—and what a full day it was, what a heavy ministry our Lord had that day with all the healing He did in the evening!—Mark records that early in the morning, before it was daylight, Jesus went out on the mountainside, and there, by Himself, He prayed. But even there He was not safe. His disciples interrupted this communion, told Him that everyone was looking for Him. And Jesus reveals the heart and substance of His prayer in what He says in reply: "Let us go somewhere else—to the nearby villages—so I can preach there also." This is what He was praying about—that God would lead Him, doors would be opened, and hearts prepared in the cities to which He would go next.

Why did Jesus seek the Father's face like this, in these hours of pressure? The only answer we can come to is that He wants to make clear that the authority He had was not coming from Him. This is what our Lord is trying to get across to us so continually in the Scriptures—that it was not His authority by which He acted; He had to receive it from the Father.

I do not know any more confusing doctrine in Christendom today—one that has robbed the Scriptures of their authority and power in the minds and hearts of countless people—than the idea that Jesus acted by virtue of the fact that He was the Son of God, that the authority and power He demonstrated were due to His own deity. Yet He Himself takes great pains to tell us this is not the case. "The Son can do nothing by himself" (John 5:19). Why do we ignore His explanation and insist that it is He, acting as the Son of God? He tells us that "This is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work"(John 14:10). And all the power that Jesus manifested had to come to Him constantly from the one who dwelt within Him.

Jesus stresses this because this is what He wants us to learn. We are to operate on the same basis. Our response to the normal, ordinary demands of life and the power to cope with those demands must come from our reliance upon Him at work within us.

This is the secret: All power to live the Christian life comes not from us, doing our dead-level best to serve God, but from Him, granted to us moment by moment as the demand is made upon us. Father God's Power is given to those who follow, who obey. The Father is at work in the Son; the Son is at work in us. As we learn this, then we are given power to meet the demands and the needs that are waiting for us in the ministry yet to come.

Thank You, Father, that the same power is available to me today, making me ready so be your instrument in any and every situation in which demand is laid upon me. Let our Amen always be in Jesus.

I was given a Sea of Galilee small stone by a man and his wife who recently married in Cana.  This stone is not new. And today I touched it with gratitude. This rock was in the Sea of Galilee the same time Jesus was. Today - I felt something near to Jesus. And really - we all are this close when we ask God to dwell in us.

Jeremiah 23
And this is the name by which he will be called: ‘The Lord is our righteousness.’

Father God, this is Lent. I prepare again to remember Goodness, Innocence, Love, Joy, Peace, Truth opened Your Son's arms to accept forgiveness for my sins. I remember again that I have sin, flaws and shades and variations that You would heal, fix, forgive, bless and rebuke. I remember Simon carrying Your cross. Because You were too hurt to carry the huge weight of that burden. You changed lives as You walked covered in blood. Simon's son and his wife would help Christians for a long time to come. Multitudes of women were brave to cry to see Your sacrifice and pain.

Forgive me when I am wrong. Father in your Power -Strengthen me to be right in Faith in Your name. Help me to be on Your Path of Goodness. Protect me to stay on Your Path. Guide me in wisdom to stay on Your Path. Help me to help others on the good Path You would give. Help us Strengthen each other in Genuine Relationship with You and the Body of Christ for the upbuilding of Love for this generation and the ones to come. We ask Your Power in establishing Peace and Wisdom. At Your Word - all things obey.

Your path helps us to remember we are so Loved by You. Our gifts and talents are gifts from You. Finding this fulfillment is bringing Heaven to Earth and using our abilities to Your Glory.

Because You have given us Your Son's Law of Love. And help me each day to renew in Your mercies of Hope, Faith and Love. You are a God of Love. Creating a path to eternity where You call Your Beloved. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with us all. Amen.

Luke 8:26-39 ~ When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down before him

Luke 8:26-39

26 Then they sailed to the country of the Gerasenes, which is opposite Galilee. 27 When Jesus had stepped out on land, there met him a man from the city who had demons. For a long time he had worn no clothes, and he had not lived in a house but among the tombs. 28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down before him and said with a loud voice, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, do not torment me.”

 29 For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. (For many a time it had seized him. He was kept under guard and bound with chains and shackles, but he would break the bonds and be driven by the demon into the desert.)

30 Jesus then asked him, “What is your name?”

And he said, “Legion,” for many demons had entered him. 31 And they begged him not to command them to depart into the abyss. 32 Now a large herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside, and they begged him to let them enter these. So he gave them permission. 33 Then the demons came out of the man and entered the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and drowned.

The next part of the Scripture is the choice after God has Mercifully Acted. The decision of the people.

34 When the herdsmen saw what had happened, they fled and told it in the city and in the country. 35 Then people went out to see what had happened, and they came to Jesus and found the man from whom the demons had gone, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind, and they were afraid. 36 And those who had seen it told them how the demon-possessed man had been healed. 37 Then all the people of the surrounding country of the Gerasenes asked him to depart from them, for they were seized with great fear. So he got into the boat and returned.

38 The man from whom the demons had gone begged that he might be with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, 39 “Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you.” And he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city how much Jesus had done for him.

So Jesus arrives and a man wants some help. Jesus knows and has arrived. Jesus knew the man was suffering. The town would say the man needs help. Jesus sees this is demonic. The town did too. Jesus isn't very worried by this. Jesus was bringing a lot of new situations with Him.

We can put this very nicely into Psalm 103,

Psalm 103:3
Who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases

Jesus saw the connection between Soul, Body, Health, Health eating, Healthy attitudes. So clearly was Jesus grace and truth - even the ill and tortured could depend upon Jesus to heal them. Probably the pigs were a reference to the end of rules and Kosher being the salvation instead of Jesus.

Numbers 14:18
The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.

God said justice has to be served. His throne is righteousness. And gave His Son. Now this passage would indicate that Jesus is interested more in healing than the generational illness. Psalm 103 tells where Jesus is going in this passage.

Usually a demon is going to find someone doing something evil - like Killing Babies and sprinkling the blood around the field for prosperity. Doing this for the Blessing of the god Baal. The man is hanging around in the tombs after all. And the man might have been doing both to cover all the gods.

Just as Kosher isn't part of our every day - demons are not as much part of this because Jesus has carried the Holy Spirit into life. We are sealed with Jesus as baptism and calling upon Him in faith. We know there is evil. But we need to be centered on what is evil and what is not. We hardly know people bursting chains and living in tombs. God has done much to protect us. We should never be ungrateful.  Jesus has done so much for this world.

Jesus has carried all of us. In ways we are not even daily cognizant of.  This town was aware. This is usually not what we know in life today. The world knew nothing like Jesus.

Our Actions. In this passage. The people and the man have to pick. The better way is the Way of Jesus.  Jesus does not force Himself on the people. Jesus does depart by Sea after healing and being asked to leave. What a day for Jesus Lord Christ.  Jesus is good about waiting on people - like His brothers and Mother. Jesus shows us -  The path forward is forgiveness.

(Who sits next to Jesus on those Heavenly thrones? I would bet my life it is the ones who showed up to physically save Jesus. And when they caught on - spent their lives telling of His Glory and Love.)

In fact, by His next boat trip, the people of this town have decided that based upon the Goodness of Jesus - they want Him there with them. They ask Him to live there.

John 7
37 On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” 39 Now this he said about the Spirit.

What Jesus Did ~
Jesus changed the afflicted man with His timely arrival on the Shores of Galilee. Jesus changes the region as people at His next visit ask Him to stay. Jesus will have His Holy Spirit dwell richly in them. They have asked the Son of God to dwell with Him. Can you think other than the Samaritans who asked Jesus. Right, me neither. In the second half of the 1st century AD, the city of Jerash achieved great prosperity. In AD 106, the Emperor Trajan constructed roads throughout the province, and more trade came to Jerash. The Emperor Hadrian visited the country of the Gerasenes, which is opposite Galilee, called Jerash in AD 129-130. The triumphal arch (or Arch of Hadrian) was built to celebrate his visit.

In 331 B.C. Alexander the Great arrives to fulfill Ezekiel Prophecy living in this city. Alexander when he learned of his prophecy about the region of Tyre becoming mainland instead of an island found the High Priest to bow to him - explaining Alexander wanted to honor God's representative on earth.

The actions of gratitude have changed the life of the afflicted man. Living water

A very wise decision.
Jesus who delivers us.

1 Thessalonians 5

12 We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, 13 and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves. 14 And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all. 15 See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone. 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 19 Do not quench the Spirit. 20 Do not despise prophecies, 21 but test everything; hold fast what is good. 22 Abstain from every form of evil.

23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.

25 Brothers, pray for us.

26 Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.

27 I put you under oath before the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers.

28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Father may Your Words deliver us from what the Scottish call ghoulies, ghosties, things that go bump in the night. May we find sanctification in You completely. Dwell in all of us. And the ones we Love and the People you have given us in our lives. In Jesus Christ. The Lord.We want to dwell in Jesus each day. Amen.

Psalm 104 ~ May the glory of the Lord endure forever

The Temple was Built For Jesus Christ the Lord

Psalm 104

1 Praise the Lord, my soul.

Lord my God, you are very great;
you are clothed with splendor and majesty.

2 The Lord wraps himself in light as with a garment;
he stretches out the heavens like a tent
3 and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters.

He makes the clouds his chariot
and rides on the wings of the wind.
4 He makes winds his messengers,
flames of fire his servants.

5 He set the earth on its foundations;
it can never be moved.
6 You covered it with the watery depths as with a garment;
the waters stood above the mountains.

7 But at your rebuke the waters fled,
at the sound of your thunder they took to flight;
8 they flowed over the mountains,
they went down into the valleys,
to the place you assigned for them.

9 You set a boundary they cannot cross;
never again will they cover the earth.

10 He makes springs pour water into the ravines;
it flows between the mountains.
11 They give water to all the beasts of the field;
the wild donkeys quench their thirst.

12 The birds of the sky nest by the waters;
they sing among the branches.

13 He waters the mountains from his upper chambers;
the land is satisfied by the fruit of his work.

14 He makes grass grow for the cattle,
and plants for people to cultivate—
bringing forth food from the earth:
15 wine that gladdens human hearts,
oil to make their faces shine,
and bread that sustains their hearts.

16 The trees of the Lord are well watered,
the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.
17 There the birds make their nests;
the stork has its home in the junipers.
18 The high mountains belong to the wild goats;
the crags are a refuge for the hyrax.

19 He made the moon to mark the seasons,
and the sun knows when to go down.
20 You bring darkness, it becomes night,
and all the beasts of the forest prowl.
21 The lions roar for their prey
and seek their food from God.
22 The sun rises, and they steal away;
they return and lie down in their dens.
23 Then people go out to their work,
to their labor until evening.

 24 How many are your works, Lord!
In wisdom you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.
25 There is the sea, vast and spacious,
teeming with creatures beyond number—
living things both large and small.
26 There the ships go to and fro,
and Leviathan, which you formed to frolic there.

27 All creatures look to you
to give them their food at the proper time.
28 When you give it to them,
they gather it up;
when you open your hand,
they are satisfied with good things.
29 When you hide your face,
they are terrified;
when you take away their breath,
they die and return to the dust.
30 When you send your Spirit,
they are created,
and you renew the face of the ground.

31 May the glory of the Lord endure forever;
may the Lord rejoice in his works—
32 he who looks at the earth, and it trembles,
who touches the mountains, and they smoke.

33 I will sing to the Lord all my life;
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
34 May my meditation be pleasing to him,
as I rejoice in the Lord.
35 But may sinners vanish from the earth
and the wicked be no more.

Praise the Lord, my soul!

Praise the Lord!

Jeremiah arrived to tear down or build up?

Jeremiah 1:1-10

1 The words of Jeremiah, the son of Hilkiah, one of the priests who were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin, 2 to whom the word of the Lord came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign. 3 It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, and until the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the captivity of Jerusalem in the fifth month.

4 Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
and before you were born I consecrated you;
I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

6 Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.”

But the Lord said to me,

“Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’;
for to all to whom I send you, you shall go,
and whatever I command you, you shall speak.
8 Do not be afraid of them,
for I am with you to deliver you,
declares the Lord.”

9 Then the Lord put out his hand and touched my mouth. And the Lord said to me,

“Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.
10 See, I have set you this day over nations and over kingdoms,
to pluck up and to break down,
to destroy and to overthrow,
to build and to plant.”

No one would have ever have taken up the career of Jeremiah willingly.
Except...God - is the foundation of Jeremiah.
A man of God with a desire to please Father God - a message of a hope and a future.

Abraham also believed God and went traveling far from all he knew. Without a computer, a map or even a compass. He just went forth into the Plan of God. Abraham became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared for them a Kingdom of Jesus.

Hebrews 11
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2 For by it the people of old received their commendation. 3 By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.

32 And what more shall I say? For time would fail me to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets— 33 who through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, were made strong out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight. 35 Women received back their dead by resurrection. Some were tortured, refusing to accept release, so that they might rise again to a better life. 36 Others suffered mocking and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. 37 They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were killed with the sword. They went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, mistreated— 38 of whom the world was not worthy—wandering about in deserts and mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

39 And all these, though commended through their faith, did not receive what was promised, 40 since
God had provided something better for us,
that apart from us
they should not be made perfect.

Father God,
Nothing in this life could be greater that Salvation.
You would have us to live with us where You Live, Move and Have Your Being.

Nothing we could ever do or say could ever repay the Gift of Jesus.
You opened up Your arms to us. And made the Victory.
You are Unblemished, Holy, Completely Loving.
You are Love.

Apart from You, Father God - we will not be made perfect.
I have seen my Grandmother Elliott in Heaven and I understand Thee
to fill us with the fulfillment of You, God. You, as Father, have wiped every tear from their eyes. No more death, mourning. crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. The dwelling place of mankind is with Father God.

My cup runneth over. Goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, as I will pray for my loved ones and the people You have given me all my days in Expectation of You. You have willingly answered to Glory what my Grandmother Anita prayed for and shown her faith which in turn fed the next generations. Thank You.  I bless You and Thank You Father. All of mankind will bow and call upon You in Faith, You have said.

Dwell within us Father God and we will see more Heaven and Your Good will done upon this earth. Amen in Jesus.

Matthew 13:34-35 ~ The foundation of the world

Matthew 13:34-35

34 All these things Jesus said to the crowds in parables; indeed, he said nothing to them without a parable. 35 This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet:

“I will open my mouth in parables;

I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.”

Luke 7

11 Soon afterward he went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a great crowd went with him.

12 As he drew near to the gate of the town, behold, a man who had died was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow, and a considerable crowd from the town was with her. 13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.”

14 Then he came up and touched the bier, and the bearers stood still. And he said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” 15 And the dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him to his mother.

16 Fear seized them all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has arisen among us!” and “God has visited his people!” 17 And this report about him spread through the whole of Judea and all the surrounding country.

What do people see as their Aspect of Jesus? Parables? Mystery?

Nain is highly over looked. A great crowd saw Jesus raise the young man from the dead in the town of Nain. Lazarus was a repeat. Andrew went and told Jesus in John's First Chapter - "Come See the Messiah!" Peter was told. First thing.

People have gone with what isn't Biblical for a long, long time... In Nain.

Jesus spoke in Parable to put forth A HUGE IDEA. He never jumped up on a rock and Screamed, "Messiah."

Instead, in front of huge crowd - Jesus raised a dead man being buried. A man who was going to be depended upon. Why? Good Question. This establishes Jesus is not just a stroll in the country to hear a Good Sermon. Jesus is declaring that Resurrection from the Dead, not seen since Elijah - another Biblical Prophecy - is very, very, very possible.

This the very early in the Gospel of Luke, 7th Chapter, who was written by Luke, who wrote The Acts of the Apostles and rather importantly here - Luke was a physician. Luke would know pretty well that raising the dead - is impossible. Did the Essenes writing the Dead Sea Scrolls know of this? I'd say - yes. 4Q52I and Q 7:22. The blind see. The deaf hear. The lame walk. The poor have good news preached. The dead are raised. The monastery of scribes did take in visitors.

Jesus spoke in parables. He certainly did. However His actions - spoke louder.

Is the Kingship of Jesus knowable? Therefore the Greatness of God's Son's Salvation!

1. “I came down from heaven”?’” (John 6:41,42)

2. “‘I tell you the truth,’ Jesus answered, ‘before Abraham was born, I am!’ (John 8:58)

3. Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.” (John 17:4,5)

4. The woman said, ‘I know that Messiah (called Christ) is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.’ Then Jesus declared, ‘I who speak to you am he.’” (John 4:25,26)

5. Tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God.’ ‘Yes, it is as you say,’ Jesus replied.” (Matthew 26:63,64)

6. They all asked, ‘Are you then the Son of God?’ He replied, ‘You are right in saying I am.’” (Luke 22:67-70).

7. He said, “I am the Son of God.”’” (Matthew 27:42,43)

8. “And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, ‘Truly you are the Son of God.’” (Matthew 14:32,33)

9. Because I said, ‘I am God’s Son.’?” (John 10:36)

10 and 11. Then he warned his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ.” (Matthew 16:15,16,20; see also Mark 8:29,30)

Who else reports Jesus is the Son of God?
The Bible and witnesses of Jesus

The earthquake. NBC reports.
http://www.nbcnews.com/id/47555983/ns/technology_and_science-science/t/quake-reveals-day-jesus-crucifixion-researchers-believe/#.VPKnUC6gZpg

To analyze earthquake activity in the region, geologist Jefferson Williams of Supersonic Geophysical and colleagues Markus Schwab and Achim Brauer of the German Research Center for Geosciences studied three cores from the beach of the Ein Gedi Spa adjacent to the Dead Sea.

Varves, which are annual layers of deposition in the sediments, reveal that at least two major earthquakes affected the core: a widespread earthquake in 31 B.C. and a seismic event that happened sometime between the years 26 and 36.

The latter period occurred during “the years when Pontius Pilate was procurator of Judea and when the earthquake of the Gospel of Matthew is historically constrained,” Williams said.
Advertise

"The day and date of the crucifixion (Good Friday) are known with a fair degree of precision," he said. But the year has been in question.

In terms of textual clues to the date of the crucifixion, Williams quoted a Nature paper authored by Colin Humphreys and Graeme Waddington. Williams summarized their work as follows:

All four gospels and Tacitus in Annals (XV, 44) agree that the crucifixion occurred when Pontius Pilate was procurator of Judea from A.D. 26 to 36.
All four gospels say the crucifixion occurred on a Friday.
All four gospels agree that Jesus died a few hours before the beginning of the Jewish Sabbath (nightfall on a Friday).
The synoptic gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke) indicate that Jesus died before nightfall on the 14th day of Nisan, right before the start of the Passover meal.
John’s gospel differs from the synoptics, apparently indicating that Jesus died before nightfall on the 15th day of Nisan.

When data about the Jewish calendar and astronomical calculations are factored in, a handful of possible dates result, with Friday, April 3, 33 A.D., being the best match, according to the researchers.

Matthew 27:54

When the centurion and those who were with him, keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were filled with awe and said, “Truly this was the Son of God!

Father God, prepare us to tell of Your Sacrifice. Prepare us to speak of Your Love. Help hearts be open to You and to Your Love. We ask in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Email registry at bottom.! “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Men “moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
