Psalm 57
1 Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me,
for in you my soul takes refuge;
in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge,
till the storms of destruction pass by.
2 I cry out to God Most High,
to God who fulfills his purpose for me.
3 He will send from heaven and save me;
he will put to shame him who tramples on me. Selah
God will send out his steadfast love and his faithfulness!
4 My soul is in the midst of lions;
I lie down amid fiery beasts—
the children of man, whose teeth are spears and arrows,
whose tongues are sharp swords.
5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens!
Let your glory be over all the earth!
6 They set a net for my steps;
my soul was bowed down.
They dug a pit in my way,
but they have fallen into it themselves. Selah
7 My heart is steadfast, O God,
my heart is steadfast!
I will sing and make melody!
8 Awake, my glory!
Awake, O harp and lyre!
I will awake the dawn!
9 I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples;
I will sing praises to you among the nations.
10 For your steadfast love is great to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the clouds.
11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens!
Let your glory be over all the earth!
Anxiety. Every person on the planet with thoughts and hopes has anxiety. In fact, worrying can be a form of entertainment. And become a habit. We learn this from our parents. Little children see their surroundings and learn how to make solutions. Norman Vincent Peale said, "If you have concerns for life, (i.e. worry) you are alive, be grateful!"
Actually I think he was quoting Solomon, who quoted the Holy Spirit, who said better a living dog than a dead lion.
Ecclesiastes 9:4
Anyone who is among the living has hope --even a live dog is better off than a dead lion!
And let's add this to the thought from Pope John Paul II:
" We are the Easter people and hallelujah is our song!"
From Deuteronomy to the Book of Revelation, every page tells us
"I will never leave nor forsake you." ~ Jesus Christ, our God.
Thank You, Jesus the Lord, we are here during the time of Jesus. When we look to the Acts of the Apostles to see how Father God's Salvation happens - we see thousands of people believe Jesus is Lord and are added to His Plan of Love to welcome us to Life. God has one direction - Love, Goodness, Mercy, Grace. Jesus calls us to have sorrow and turn to Him and He lavishes us with welcome to His Goodness.
Jesus works only with one type of person - sinners. The Disciples were never fired from having anxiety. Never fired for running away. Jesus found them - that is how enduring, steadfast, Loyal and Loving - Jesus - is. Today.
John 21 tells us differently than the gods of the world who require food sacrifice and worry - after Jesus gave His blameless, pure and loving life - Jesus cooked breakfast of fish for the erring disciples. This is our God.
Father God,
As Your child, I place this day, my life, my loved ones, my work in the Lord's hands. There is no harm in the Lord's hands, only good. Whatever happens, whatever results, if I am in the Lord's hands it is the Lord's will and it is good. Above all else, Jesus is LORD. To our glory and to the Glory of Our Father God!
Amen and Amen, Jesus!
