Obadiah:15-21 ~ Do onto others, as you would have them do unto you

Obadiah:15-21

For the day of the Lord is near upon all the nations.
As you have done, it shall be done to you;
your deeds shall return on your own head.

16 For as you have drunk on my holy mountain,
    so all the nations shall drink continually;
they shall drink and swallow,
and shall be as though they had never been.

17 But in Mount Zion there shall be those who escape,
    and it shall be holy,
and the house of Jacob shall possess their own possessions.

18 The house of Jacob shall be a fire,
and the house of Joseph a flame,
    and the house of Esau stubble;
they shall burn them and consume them,
and there shall be no survivor for the house of Esau,
for the Lord has spoken.

The Kingdom of the Lord
19 Those of the Negeb shall possess Mount Esau,
    and those of the Shephelah shall possess the land of the Philistines;
they shall possess the land of Ephraim and the land of Samaria,
    and Benjamin shall possess Gilead.
20 The exiles of this host of the people of Israel
shall possess the land of the Canaanites as far as Zarephath,
and the exiles of Jerusalem who are in Sepharad
shall possess the cities of the Negeb.
21 Saviors shall go up to Mount Zion
    to rule Mount Esau,
and the Kingdom shall be the Lord's.

Obediah is about Political Winds.
Usually, Obediah is considered post exile out of Babylon. We just aren't completely sure.

Obadiah's Name in the Old Testament: Places this from 1000 BC to 600 BC

Servant of king Ahab of Israel (1 Kings 18:3 ff). According to the rabbinic tradition, the tradition of the Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox Churches, this is the same individual as the prophet.]
the Son of Hananiah, a descendant of king David of Israel through Solomon (1 Chronicles 3:21 )

Son of Uzzi, a descendant of the Hebrew patriarch Issachar (1 Chronicles 7:3 )

Son of Azel, a descendant of King Saul of Israel through Jonathan (1 Chronicles 8:38 )

Son of Shemaiah, a descendant of the Hebrew patriarch Levi (1 Chronicles 9:16 )

Warrior of the Tribe of Gad who served King David (1 Chronicles 12:9 )

Father of Ishmaiah, governor of the tribe of Zebulun during the reign of King David (1 Chronicles 27:19 )

Prince of the southern kingdom of Judah during the reign of King Jehoshaphat (2 Chronicles 17:7 )

Levite, overseer of the reconstruction efforts during the reforms of King Josiah of Judah (2 Chronicles 34:12 )

Son of Joab, one of the individuals who returned from the Babylonian captivity with the priestly scribe Ezra, and possibly the Levite mentioned in (Nehemiah 12:25 )

A porter of Jerusalem's gates after the city's reconstruction under Nehemiah (Ezra 8:9 )

In the wild winds of news,

Faith tells us this is the truth.

Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him.

If God had wanted us to know which author wrote Obadiah with the Holy Spirit, He would surely have given clues. Instead, we find Obadiah might have lived in any of these wild wind times of life.

Even today we can see, God helps us through trouble.

Matthew 7:12
So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them,
or this is
The Law and the Prophets.

Mark 12
The Lord our God, the Lord is One.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

No other commandment is greater than these.”

Matthew 22:40
All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

Luke 6:31
Do to others as you would have them do to you.

Romans 13:8
Be indebted to no one, except to one another in love,
for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the Law.

Romans 13:10
Love does no wrong to its neighbor.
Therefore love is the fulfillment of the Law.

Galatians 5:14
The entire Law is fulfilled in a single decree:
"Love your neighbor as yourself."

Tumultuousness - Definition - Commotion and noise and confusion. garboil, tumult, uproar. Commotion, hoo-ha, hoo-hah, hurly-burly, kerfuffle, to-do, disruption, disturbance, flutter - a disorderly outburst or tumult. And in the year 2020, this is wrapped with a fair bit less of our everyday comfort.

We are all looking for a similar Love.
To have our families prosper. To believe in the future. To Love and be Loved. And if we see the tumultuousness of the present, we can know the trouble seen in History and find Good News for today  --- and tomorrow. To see the Scriptures enfold Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. This gives us an unshaken Kingdom.

We put this in our Hearts. We draw a picture map.

Philippians 4:4-9

The Body of Christ

4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

Matthew 10:11
And whatever town or village you enter,
find out who is worthy in it and stay there until you depart.

5 Let your
consideration,
reasonableness,
gentleness,
gentle Spirit,
forbearance,
patience,
moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

Matthew 11:29 Find rest for your souls.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.

6 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Luke 11:8 Pray Impudently.
I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your impudent audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.

7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 12:28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that is unshakable,
let us be thankful,
and so
worship God acceptably with reverence and awe

8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

1 Chronicles 22:19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God;
arise, therefore, and build the sanctuary of the LORD God

9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

James 2:8
If you really keep the royal law stated in Scripture,
"Love your neighbor as yourself," you are doing well.

Ask yourself a question, what portion of God's Word is working within you? In other words, what do you remember?  And your compass of your heart is set to Jesus Christ. On the Plan, on the Path, Beloved Child of God. You Please God. He Loves You.

Whatsoever things are of good report;
if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Lord Jesus,Abba, gives us,

Our Father, Abba, Who Art in Heaven,
Holy is the Name Jesus,
Thy Kingdom Come!
Thy Will be Done!
On earth as it is done in Heaven.

Give us this Day.
Our Daily, Living Bread Jesus.

Forgive me my trespasses
as I forgive those who trespass against me.

Lead us not into temptation
Deliver us from evil.

For Yours is the Kingdom, the Power in the Glory,
Amen.

Dwell in us, Lord Jesus!
We will seek You first and Have Heaven.

You know everyone's story, their very heart and soul.
We ask in this time with so many prayer requests and prayer opportunities,
that when we say, "Please Jesus" Your Mercy and Grace and Love Prevail.

Father, You are God of All.
And we ask You for all these opportunities to be Covered by the Love Jesus Christ
to Live to see Your Glory.

We Simply and effectively say Jesus Christ with our hearts of Love for Your Love.
And believe Jesus Christ will cover All.

Remembering the Love God brings us Home yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Luke 9:6-17 ~ Satisfied

God interweaves all things together for good, for those
who Love the Lord and work according to His Purpose.

Luke 9:6-17

6 And they departed and went through the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.

10 On their return the apostles told him all that they had done.

And he took them and withdrew apart to a town called Bethsaida. 11 When the crowds learned it, they followed him, and he welcomed them and spoke to them of the kingdom of God and cured those who had need of healing.

12 Now the day began to wear away, and the twelve came and said to him, “Send the crowd away to go into the surrounding villages and countryside to find lodging and get provisions, for we are here in a desolate place.”

13 But he said to them, “You give them something to eat.”

They said, “We have no more than five loaves and two fish—unless we are to go and buy food for all these people.” 14 For there were about five thousand men.

And he said to his disciples, “Have them sit down in groups of about fifty each.”

15 And they did so, and had them all sit down. 16 And taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and said a blessing over them. Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd.

17 And they all ate and were satisfied. And what was left over was picked up, twelve baskets of broken pieces.

Prayer.
Location - Desolate or lonely place.
Goal - Nourishment.
Possibility - With God nothing is impossible.
Jesus said - Always pray with hope.

Jesus prayed quite often. In isolation.
His own prayers demonstrated His Company was to be alone with Father God and privately. Jesus said  we pray go into a prayer closet and pray quietly. Which can be a quiet portion of our own mind, soul and heart. If we wanted examples of Jesus saying this, we would easily find them. The woman who wanted to touch Jesus, didn't even tell Jesus. Nathaniel in John's Gospel, Chapter One, was absolutely delighted to find Jesus had seen him praying under the tree. When Jesus healed the daughter of Jairus, He asked the mourners to depart. The deaf man was taken to a quiet area, so he would understand the prayer and the answer.

And what ties together these Scripture Verses?
Some of our prayers would embarrass others. Or look foolish - and then we feel silly praying impudently. Jesus didn't say this word to substitute for impudently, "insistently."  Instead Jesus said pray persistently if we feel we are dealing with God as a Harsh Judge. Jesus explains Love does not insist on its own way.

If we imagine what Jesus' prayers looked like with Father God, what would we see?
"Father, You want me to cross the Sea of Galilee 3 times tomorrow?" "What would You have me say to the deaf man?" "You want me to do what with mud and my saliva?" "You want me to call Herod a what? Why?"  "Really, James and John are bringing me their mother ? Thanks for letting me know."

When Jesus healed Lazarus, from being dead, Thomas said, "Ok, well now we are going to die with Him." So what would the Disciples have said if they knew what Jesus knew. Private Prayer isn't such a bad thing?!  Remember, when the Blind Men were going to exercise their faith loudly - the crowd called for them to be silent.

Selecting our Scripture wisely is an important subject for Belief. We bring our hearts forth when we call judgment on faith. The crowd booed and hissed for the men to not bother Jesus. Jesus felt very differently and wanted the men to verbally explain their prayer. We can well imagine the men felt humble to have been put down by the crowd and blindly asking the Messiah to heal them.

Jesus brings Joy. Jesus finds Life is Joy. Father God finds His Creation is Good. And delights looking inside mankind proclaiming the Light of Christ is in mankind.

This year we see this hope. And we see Jesus giving opposite advice from John Chapter One about the Light of mankind and taking us to the Second Chapter of John. Which we have also witnessed this year.

John 2
24 But Jesus did not entrust Himself to them, for He knew them all. 25 He did not need any testimony about man, for He knew what was in a man.

How should we decide about how we will put forth our prayers to Father God and sharing with others?

James the Brother of Jesus Christ had real insight having grown up with Jesus, Mary and Joseph. James said always feel free to ask God for wisdom and believe without being a double-minded man, shaken by waves. King Solomon wrote, probably, in Proverbs - do not be afraid of sudden fear. We will look for and find the balance of an unshakable Kingdom brought by Father God who upholds the Universe by His Word.

Why be loud in our hopeful prayers?

Proverbs 29:18
Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint,
but blessed is he who keeps the law.

The Law is the Spirit of God and His Love. The blind men had such hope, their faith told them wouldn't be cast down. They would continue to pray and call to Jesus Christ with all their heart.

Why be quiet in our hopeful prayers?

Matthew 7:6
Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

Hannah found out right quickly.  She is a perfect example of loud prayer can absolutely have supreme criticism. David knew the hardship of faith.

1 Samuel 1
12 As she kept on praying to the Lord, Eli observed her mouth. 13 Hannah was praying in her heart, and her lips were moving but her voice was not heard. Eli thought she was drunk 14 and said to her, “How long are you going to stay drunk? Put away your wine.”

15 “Not so, my lord,” Hannah replied, “I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the Lord. 16 Do not take your servant for a wicked woman; I have been praying here out of my great anguish and grief.”

17 Eli answered, “Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant you what you have asked of him.”

18 She said, “May your servant find favor in your eyes.”

Then she went her way and ate something, and her face was no longer downcast.

Hannah was not going to insist on her own way. I Corinthians 13.

The foolishness of faith.
Constantly, we find faith is a miracle someone would scoff at. God, Himself, says the work of mankind is to Believe. The Seed Parable says so much is going on - all around us. Look at these verses today - there was not going to be any way Jesus would feed us. And He did. Millenniums later. An ongoing miracle where far more than 5,000 are fed. And Jesus can feed us even when we scoff. His tenderness will touch us. Before Jesus fed the crowd He was busy healing and Saving the entire world.

All those chairs are not 2 million chairs
and this is prayer as well.

Many prayers have been prayed
this year.

Abba, Father God,

I Believe in God and, sometimes, I feel Lost.

I Believe in Love, when sometimes I'm afraid.

I Believe in the Light of Christ, when the world erupts in anger.

I Believe Light overcomes darkness, when life looks bleak.

I Believe in Good Health and Your Healing Word,
when people speak of a new normal.
Remembering God healed Spanish Flu, Bird Flu and Swine Flu.
God has healed so much. And is Still Working.

I Believe Jesus Christ saves the world,
even on the days I pray fiercely for those I Love.

I Believe in answered prayer,
when I doubt, and reach to look at what is good
and noble and pure. I remember Answered Prayer.

I Believe Forest Fires Cease, having lived a Tri-County Fire,
as we pray for Australia and the Northwest USA.

I Believe Jesus Christ.

We ask Jesus to dwell in us and those we Love always,
and helping us find God First

Leviticus 23 ~ And the Lord spoke

Nazareth, childhood home of Jesus, is a plateau watchtower of the Jezreel Plain.
And there is a watchtower put to great use as a storehouse for what
Nazareth deems necessary.

The name Jezreel. Is rather nice, in and of itself.

Leviticus 23

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, These are the appointed feasts of the Lord that you shall proclaim as holy convocations; they are my appointed feasts.

The Sabbath
3 “Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. You shall do no work. It is a Sabbath to the Lord in all your dwelling places.

The Passover
4 “These are the appointed feasts of the Lord, the holy convocations, which you shall proclaim at the time appointed for them. 5 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight, is the Lord's Passover. 6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the Lord; for seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. 7 On the first day you shall have a holy convocation; you shall not do any ordinary work. 8 But you shall present a food offering to the Lord for seven days. On the seventh day is a holy convocation; you shall not do any ordinary work.”

The Feast of Firstfruits
9 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 10 “Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When you come into the land that I give you and reap its harvest, you shall bring the sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest, 11 and he shall wave the sheaf before the Lord, so that you may be accepted. On the day after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it. 12 And on the day when you wave the sheaf, you shall offer a male lamb a year old without blemish as a burnt offering to the Lord. 13 And the grain offering with it shall be two tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil, a food offering to the Lord with a pleasing aroma, and the drink offering with it shall be of wine, a fourth of a hin. 14 And you shall eat neither bread nor grain parched or fresh until this same day, until you have brought the offering of your God: it is a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

The Feast of Weeks
15 “You shall count seven full weeks from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering. 16 You shall count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath. Then you shall present a grain offering of new grain to the Lord. 17 You shall bring from your dwelling places two loaves of bread to be waved, made of two tenths of an ephah. They shall be of fine flour, and they shall be baked with leaven, as firstfruits to the Lord. 18 And you shall present with the bread seven lambs a year old without blemish, and one bull from the herd and two rams. They shall be a burnt offering to the Lord, with their grain offering and their drink offerings, a food offering with a pleasing aroma to the Lord. 19 And you shall offer one male goat for a sin offering, and two male lambs a year old as a sacrifice of peace offerings. 20 And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits as a wave offering before the Lord, with the two lambs. They shall be holy to the Lord for the priest. 21 And you shall make a proclamation on the same day. You shall hold a holy convocation. You shall not do any ordinary work. It is a statute forever in all your dwelling places throughout your generations.

22 “And when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap your field right up to its edge, nor shall you gather the gleanings after your harvest. You shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am the Lord your God.”

The Feast of Trumpets
23 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 24 “Speak to the people of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall observe a day of solemn rest, a memorial proclaimed with blast of trumpets, a holy convocation. 25 You shall not do any ordinary work, and you shall present a food offering to the Lord.”

The Day of Atonement
26 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 27 “Now on the tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. It shall be for you a time of holy convocation, and you shall afflict yourselves and present a food offering to the Lord. 28 And you shall not do any work on that very day, for it is a Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before the Lord your God. 29 For whoever is not afflicted on that very day shall be cut off from his people. 30 And whoever does any work on that very day, that person I will destroy from among his people. 31 You shall not do any work. It is a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwelling places. 32 It shall be to you a Sabbath of solemn rest, and you shall afflict yourselves. On the ninth day of the month beginning at evening, from evening to evening shall you keep your Sabbath.”

The Feast of Booths
33 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 34 “Speak to the people of Israel, saying, On the fifteenth day of this seventh month and for seven days is the Feast of Booths to the Lord. 35 On the first day shall be a holy convocation; you shall not do any ordinary work. 36 For seven days you shall present food offerings to the Lord. On the eighth day you shall hold a holy convocation and present a food offering to the Lord. It is a solemn assembly; you shall not do any ordinary work.

37 “These are the appointed feasts of the Lord, which you shall proclaim as times of holy convocation, for presenting to the Lord food offerings, burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings, each on its proper day, 38 besides the Lord's Sabbaths and besides your gifts and besides all your vow offerings and besides all your freewill offerings, which you give to the Lord.

39 “On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the produce of the land, you shall celebrate the feast of the Lord seven days. On the first day shall be a solemn rest, and on the eighth day shall be a solemn rest. 40 And you shall take on the first day the fruit of splendid trees, branches of palm trees and boughs of leafy trees and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God seven days. 41 You shall celebrate it as a feast to the Lord for seven days in the year. It is a statute forever throughout your generations; you shall celebrate it in the seventh month. 42 You shall dwell in booths for seven days. All native Israelites shall dwell in booths, 43 that your generations may know that I made the people of Israel dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.”

44 Thus Moses declared to the people of Israel the appointed feasts of the Lord.

Today, I felt the stress of the Year.
I was compelled to add after wishing a friend, "Happy Birthday," to add, "Next year it won't be 2020. Yay!" My sons are working a lot and this makes them fortunate and, yet, they are working 6 days a week in essential industries and feel burning at both ends of the candle.

The weather is changing to the cooler weather we were all concerned for in Covid-19. I love Daylight Savings Time and cherish the sunlight.  More sunlight brought more hope. I didn't enjoy having Labor Day announce the end of summer.

Rush hours are there, just smaller. I went into a shop to have a Polaris fixed and the shop worker told me, "Basically, I work alone here." I've seen this happen in a local, patio, restaurant. And seen some difficulty there. Our area has few homeless people. And these last few weeks, I've seen 3 similar to this type situations.

Ok, right I've complained. However... yet...
Being sincere is necessary. Helpful. Being on the Straight Path. And. Just as necessary as looking at God's Good Creation, pleasing to Him, and finding the: "Daily He loadeth us with Benefits."
Psalm 68:19

So, the Scripture is obtained, then we look at God's Word.
Very positive to discuss Leviticus. We are blessed. We've found the impossible-to-do-all the Books of the Law, the Talmud and all of God's perfections. And God places the majority of His Blessings upon the people trying to please God, keep His Law. Father God, upholding the Universe with His Word, is pleased. So much so, Father God invites us to His Kingdom forever. Jesus tells us - Thank God - He has filled every dot and iota of God's Word. He is helping us. Our Advocate.

Double Blessing.
The Word we begin with He says, "The Lord spoke."
We are upheld. Going forth with God. Immeasurably Blessed.

Continue the Word Journey.
We begin seeing God's Word has brought us Celebration and Holiday. Holiday is Holy Day. The word is simply blended.

Blessed are the eyes that did not see and, yet, Believe.
And look to find what God sends.
David looked in the trees filled with wind. Elijah looked to the coast to find a rain shower. Samuel heard God speak as he rested. Hezekiah threw himself on the floor, at the top of his house, to be closer to God. (And overcome the generational problems of having a 'practical' biological father!). The Psalmist spoke of the circles of the deep - unseen - and telling us of an unexplainable presence of Father God. Looking around us to find His provision is the Path and Plan and Blessing of God.

Consider how high and wide and deep are the circles of the deep. We can look to see lightning today
and know the solar flares to the ionosphere and magnetosphere, making lightning a journey of the circles of the deep. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birkeland_current

The whole is a whole system, Unity.

Unity.
The three near Homeless situations I've seen lately, all the people had leadership of compassion.
The message of hope.  One had persistent friendship, practically forcing the conclusion, in a few months of persistance. Another had dignity given and real urging of help via Homelessness networks. Having grown up in the 5th largest city in the USA, even in Teen Bible Studies, we were told to encourage the Homeless to shelters - where real and important help can be given. Our Church partners with others to end Homelessness. It's good to be able to give phone numbers to the shelters. Homelessness has steps to obtain housing and counseling. We have witnessed, in volunteer serving, three different people have an end to Homelessness and have housing. Another message of hope, the formerly Homeless provided with homes - frequently have the remaining Homeless seek to find these solutions. A friendship network.

The weather is changing.
Maybe we can create Daylight Savings Time to be permanent and say more sunlight encourages Health. And until then, realize we want the seasons to advance - ending the time period of Covid-19. The Spanish Flu was basically defeated in two years.

Holidays. Holy Days. Resting.
Holidays, filled with Joy considering Loved ones. Not ordinary time. The Word of God explains "resting" is included. Anticipate rest in the Holidays. Real rest wouldn't be restlessness. God is encouraging us to develop the skill of putting our cares and concerns into His Hands. To actually take a vacation from worrying.

The smaller restaurants and shops. Well, they are open. The investors feel there is hope for the business.
And traveling into Houston last week, we saw working stores with lights on. I saw one business was closed and looked again and saw the Produce Truck loading up. Open is good.  Masks are great.

Time.
Rest is carved out about now. Time to spread out gift giving. Stretch the bill paying to cover the gifts. Include your family. Create positive ideas and games to share. Leviticus is explaining to create a plan. Unity.

About scripture-for-today.blogspot.com/

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He has saved all who call upon His name and rely on Him for His Grace. The Scriptures are living & active and are for understanding the Lord Almighty. Biblical readings are chosen from the Ecumenical Christian Church and the Nicene Council, 325 A.D., approved Apocrypha. People remember not just from reading, but by sight and orally- an image has been added as well as audio readings. God tends to link the passages together with fascinates - this blogger, Anne-Laurel Gardere

A simple blog, scripture-for-today.blogspot

This blog is pretty simple, but for a reason. This blog isn't about agenda or me, it is for the joy and love to found by reading the Scriptures. Ultimately, it is you and the Lord.

The Scriptures are Father God's letter to you. He wanted you to know more, to know He loves you.

About Me

My photo
Email registry at bottom.! “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Men “moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
