Reading Scripture helps us know God's Love. Every Bible verse is written for you. Jesus Christ is all mankind's Light. John 1!

1 Samuel 17:32-37 ~ Let no one lose heart +

1 Samuel 17:32-37

32 David said to Saul, "Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him."

33 Saul replied, "You are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him; you are only a young man, and he has been a warrior from his youth."

34 But David said to Saul, "Your servant has been keeping his father's sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, 35 I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it. 36 Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. 37 The LORD who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine."

Saul said to David, "Go, and the LORD be with you."

David fought and conquered a lion. Solomon used several of them along his throne. When Solomon's kingdom was divided, lions came out for the first time in a long time and devoured men for harming David's Line.

And C.S. Lewis created a beautiful story in Narnia about Aslan. I've been partial to lions since I was quite small and dreamed of Africa so many times.

Now did David really do this? Evidently so.

No one would want to fight Goliath. And David did. Based upon his faith, God protects him.

On Display in the Museum of Israel - Goliath and David

The story of David slaying the giant Goliath isn't a myth written down, because thousands of years later, Dr Aren Maeir of Bar-Ilan University in Israel, excavation director said, :finding the scraps gave credence to the biblical story."

The shard dates to about 950BC, within 70 years of when biblical chronology says David squared off against Goliath, making it the oldest Philistine inscription found. It was at Tel es-Safi in southern Israel, thought to be the site of the Philistine city of Gath.

We see what gave David courage to fight Goliath. His faith in the Lord God Almighty and the Holy Spirit residing in David.

Solomon built his throne to celebrate David's victory.

Jesus is called Lion of the Tribe of Judah. Solomon put a gold lion for each of the 12 tribes, to depict their protection with the David's lineage.  We can all clearly recognize in the title, "Jesus, Lion of the Tribe of Judah" Jesus is a profound mediator for you and for me. Just as Solomon was saying he protects the Tribes of Jacob's Son - of Israel.

Abba,

We rest sinus headache and this flu season, so serious, to You for total healing.

Lift up all of Life and our selves and Loved ones to You. Around the world, held in Your Love.

Blessed be our Jesus, Lion of the Tribe of Judah.

Amen in Jesus.

Isaiah 40:3-5 ~ The Glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all shall see together

When we think of Father God pouring out a blessing -
Do you think of Niagara Falls as in the Old Testament -
God's Love Flows and Flows.

We know, certainly, we want to avoid Limbo!!!

How far can we take all of this back - Seeing The New Testament and Old Testament as new?
God's Living Word!

Isaiah 40:3-5

A voice cries:
“In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord;
make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

Every valley shall be lifted up,
and
every mountain and hill be made low;
the uneven ground shall become level,
and the rough places a plain.

And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed,
and all flesh shall see it together,
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

When would God speak tenderly to His People?

When would Father God comfort His people?

In the Vast Love our God of Hope, God of Love, God of Encouragement - we find out. Days would come. We read the news.

When everything is in question. So many changes. To destabilize the world - nothing is comfortable. When we are all uncomfortable - then we are easily scattered. Fake News?  Less likely to work for our families and pull for all their future. Hezekiah became so concerned with how huge Assyria and the future was - he just gave up and shrugged when it came time for his children's futures. And Hezekiah was Quite a Saint. Hezekiah was raised to give up Judea to the Assyrians - to become a puppet king to the powers that be. Instead, Hezekiah fought bravely. But we can't give up on our children as easily as Hezekiah did.

We will Give the Comfort of God.
We will Seek the Comfort of God - for our Families and the people He has given us.
We Will. In Jesus Christ.

Days would come.
God spoke so tenderly to His Beloved People - after Jesus died. Brings tears to my eyes. Jesus said not to weep for Him, weep for us.

Father God knew the vast changes coming. In 16 years religious persecution was really upping the ante. At 70 A.D. For 325 years. Father God knew the sheep would come forward looking for our Jesus. They were like sheep going astray, but now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of our souls. Can you fathom it - His Son was Killed. God our Father would comfort us.

To Father God, a day is like thousands of years.

Comfort, Comfort My People

This is what the probable, 2 million people, flooding the 36 acres in the Temple right- after the First Easter - Saw:

Colonnade left from King Solomon's Portico. Could be from the First Temple used in the Second Temple. John 10:23. A portion of the Temple, according to Josephus History of the Jews. 5:5, section 1; Ant. 20:9, section 7, remained from Solomon's time. It rose from a great depth, occupying part of the valley, and supported by a wall 400 cubits high, formed of immense stones, some 20 cubits long. The Chaldeans spared it, for the strength and beauty. This is where the Remnant left from the Babylonian Exile worshiped.

Jesus the Lord walked in the Colonnade left from King Solomon's Portico.

God's Plan is so far back - as the people gathered to find Jesus - this comfort of Solomon, of David holding the material, of Jesus - The Portico was there for the multitudes after Jesus died.

Acts 2:6
And at this sound, the multitude came together, and they were bewildered because each one was hearing them speak in his own language.

Acts 5:12 -15
Now many signs and wonders were regularly done among the people by the hands of the apostles. And they were all together in Solomon's Portico. 13 None of the rest dared join them, but the people held them in high esteem. 14 And more than ever believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, 15 so that they even carried out the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mats, that as Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on some of them.

Joel 3:14
Multitudes, multitudes, in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.

A very active time after Jesus was crucified.

We can see this today. Our Grandparents wouldn't have. But Technology has allowed your eyes to see part of Solomon's Portico.

In Crisis. People prayed.

Acts 1:14
All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.

Mary and her children were with the believers.
 Unified in God's Care.

And Antioch. This is where the Church went to be planned and develop.

Acts 13:1-5

Now there were in
the Church at Antioch
prophets and teachers,

Barnabas,
Simeon who was called Niger,
Lucius of Cyrene,
Manaen a lifelong friend of Herod the tetrarch,
and Saul.

2 While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” 3 Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off.

4 So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus. 5 When they arrived at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews. And they had John to assist them.

Archaeology.
Something you sift through to find meaningful analysis. Like Historical evidence. And God's Word.

God Word, 1 John 4, tells us never be afraid to examine what we know for truth.

Dang. Don't you wish the Disciples had been literate?
Dang. Wouldn't it be great if the Bible had been written before 400 A.D. and we hadn't had to deal with these dirty, illiterate, yutzes that "God" mistakenly chose?  SO WRONG  >!!!
SO WRONG >!!! SO WRONG >!!!

When God said the creation was good, how many times?
11 times.
God rarely repeats Himself -  maybe God was supporting 11 Disciples.
Saying these 11 men were wonderful. Chosen, special, loved.

Reading this - we discover how wonderful and united these very diverse men - loved - those in need.

Let's explode for all time some pop culture and look at Archaeology.
God has built Archaeology to be a clue for the faithful.
A tool of seeing with wonder what God has done.
It will be rare when something of Archaeology brings Salvation.
And yet, why would we ignore what others have found?

And so we leave Jerusalem, where 16 years after the death of Jesus, 340 years of Roman Emperor terror about Jesus Christ.  History of Emperor fears. And 340 years later was still being investigated about 'that' Jesus as God.

Syria. Unlike little Judea, which came to be known as Jesus' area. We leave and head to Syria - which was considered a Post worth having as a Roman Official.

And we look at

ANTIOCH

You have your little Judea, your better Syria, but ahhhhhhhh Antioch. You've arrived. This is the Place. Beautiful Antioch. Twenty-one times the New Testament says 'Antiahhhhhhoch'.

Who was here?

1. Barnabas, Cousin to John Mark, Mark's gospel, with Peter to the end. Barnabas took some of the oldest Scripture to India.

2. Simeon who was called Niger, This is the Gospel. This is the first Civil Rights Movement. This man took the Gospel to Alexandria.

3. Lucius of Cyrene, Simeon probably traveled with Mr. Libya. They are taking the Gospel to the Next Continent.

4. Manaen a lifelong friend of Herod the tetrarch  You are "Absolutely" in trouble for running around with Christian infidels if you are a pal of Herod. This Herod is Herod is Herod Antipas. A lesser-known Herod? Oh noooo. This Herod is put on the throne by Census taking Emperor Augustus. Nephew of Caesar. King since 4 B.C. Married to his sister-in-law Herodias, this Herod is rather Touchy. One is in Danger traveling with the Christ Disciples

Giving a whole new meaning to - "Men the Roman Empire is upset who is running around Proclaiming Jesus as God."

5. Saul. Believe me, they were not grubbing around in Antioch. Paul was one of the best educated at the Temple by Gamaliel - himself. Paul had the best credentials.

Later...

6. John - This is the first man adopted by the incredible Sacrifice of Jesus. He is now the son of Mary, Mother of God. Plenty of courage. John stayed to the last breath of Jesus Christ.

These tile Mosaics - are they found in Judea - yes, thanks for thinking of this - yes, they are found in Caiaphas - High Priest Home. "Worship no 'Image'".

Antioch tells us - Living was not just hand- to- mouth.

Not desperate times and desperate measures to worship "Something". Telling us just like Paul's superior education. Peter's superior style of living and gracious house.  Manaen a lifelong friend of Herod the tetrarch - not just the men who could squeak under the prosecution wire. Not just the outsiders.  The Light of Jesus Christ was reaching across Impossible Borders and Boundaries. Not just Susanna, wife to Herod's Steward.

Antioch, northern Syria near the Turkish border. 300 B.C., Antioch was a very important political and cultural center of the Hellenistic East and one of the great metropolises of the Roman Empire.

Howard Crosby Butler, Princeton professor of Art and Archaeology and the founder of the School of Architecture, led a series of archaeological expeditions to Syria (1899-1900, 1904-5, and 1909). The collective aim was to record the remains of ancient buildings and settlements. The results of those expeditions were published in several volumes that remain standard research tools for the study of late antique architecture in Syria. Some of the buildings are from 200 A.D. He discovered a city blended from 200 A.D. to 500 A.D.

Although Antioch was mentioned in many literary sources, very little was known about the physical city until 1932, when a consortium of institutions led by Princeton University conducted the first of seven seasons of excavations that would eventually uncover a remarkable wealth of finds, expanding our knowledge of the metropolis and its culture. Despite the challenges posed by the fact that much of the ancient city had been buried by up to 10 meters of soil washed down from the slopes of Mount Silpios, which towers above the town at the east, the excavations there and in the surrounding area were able to uncover the remains of more than:

80 buildings,
including two theaters,
six public baths,
a hippodrome,
and two major churches.

In addition to these public buildings, some of the portico-ed streets for which Antioch was famous in antiquity, were unearthed, along with numerous residential structures.

200 A. D.

Butler deemed this suburban residence a villa of a well-to-do family from nearby Bostra. The huge residence, measuring ca. 80 x 60 meters in the plan, was later transformed into a village. Symmetrically organized around a central courtyard, the entire complex, including the residential wing, was enclosed by a high stone wall. The focus of the residential wing was a large (10 x 10 meters) two-story room, internally divided by a large arch resting on massive engaged piers. Probably introduced for structural reasons, internal transversal arches of this type became ubiquitous features of residential buildings in Syria.

These houses still had walls, 1700 years later. You can bet in Antioch, these visitors were not taken in lightly.

Now

Let's be real and frank. This is the statue of Minerva. Found as decoration for one of the Baths. 200 A.D. Just as archaeology does not create believers, not all people adored Jesus and flocked to Christ. What's the point in bringing this up? This relates to today.

We see the Gospel and Acts of the Apostles have amazing, spectacular miracles. And many people think - well, God has gone to sleep. No matter the time, no matter the season, no matter the Disciple, Prophet, Preacher or Teacher - Jesus God told us, we will always have difficulties in this life. Jesus told us to expect some are wheat - some are weeds.

And with Love - bring forth the God of Love. The God of Encouragement. Our Father God Lives. Abba is working, Jesus, too, and His Word is the power upholding the universe, the galaxy, this planet and our very lives.

Our Abba,

Luke 1:37
For nothing will be impossible with God.

2 Chronicles 15:7
But you, take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded.

Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Prayer is the force changing hearts in the Power of the Holy Spirit.

Abba,  Your Great Love and Tender Mercy.
God of Love and Encouragement,
we tenderly place our cares for our loved ones,
the people You have given us,
our own concerns, our hearts and souls,
the things we think are dire today and maybe not in a year.

We
give a moment of thought of Thanks for Your answers we have experienced.

Gratitude for answers we will come to know.
Your Love around our workplaces, Schools, Churches, Cities, States, this Nation and cover the Creation with Your Love.

Knowing Your Tender Love for Edward, Steve, Wayne, Mother, ears.

We Entrust All this to Your Loving, Capable and Willing Hands

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction

With the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

I will fear no evil, for You are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

We will rest today and tonight. See Your Mercies Renew Tomorrow.

Likewise, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

Our Father God, searches hearts - knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

And we will come to know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His Purpose.

Jesus covers us all. Blessed Gift of God. Jesus is Love. Amen.

Isaiah 49:10-12 ~ He who has compassion on them will guide them +

Isaiah 49:10-12

10 They will neither hunger nor thirst,
nor will the desert heat or the sun beat down on them.

He who has compassion on them will guide them
and lead them beside springs of water.

11 I will turn all my mountains into roads,
and my highways will be raised up.

12 See, they will come from afar—
some from the north, some from the west,
some from the region of Sinim. "

About three decades ago,  the Ipuwer looked like this in the museum in Leiden, Holland.

Today, this is not in any Identifying frame, and is mounted on black to show the colors more clearly.

The University of Michigan owns 300 Chapters of The New Testament.
The Collection is called Papyrus 46. (Link)
This is late First or early Second Century. Depending on the scholar looking at verb conjugation. Either way, the Disciple John was alive on Patmos Island. And if you look at the stamped identification on The Book of Hebrews, the author is defined as Paul because the last Chapter of Hebrews has the author traveling with Timothy. We all know the traveling companion for Timothy is Paul.  The Book of Hebrews was identified as Paul's Book for 1,900 years.

Until the 1900's, the vintage photos of Israel - say of Nazareth or Nain - the towns all looked as they did from traveler letters going back to the year 400 A.D. The population was pretty steadfast.

Typical Stable of Bethlehem.

Our Honeymoon in 1986, Edward and I went to visit London and a few U.K. cities. We went to a lot of Museums; about Museum 4, we went The British Museum. We wandered around and even got to the Basement - no windows, little cubical type displays. Edward was about 25 feet off.

Now, when you get to the very bottom of The British Museum, you are looking at pillars. Beautiful columns. Things you find in the sand. 'One' gets the idea, 'one' would be very surprised and delighted to have been the discoverer. In fact, the basement has the larger, more intact finds. Even the cubical Basement is interesting.

Salt Papyrus 124

Obscure Pharaoh Seti II of the 19th Dynasty, had an ongoing complaint with his half-brother. Called Amennakht - this led to a famous document called "A Tale of Two Brothers."  (Which is Entirely a Different Document than Salt Papyrus 124.) This Papyrus is showing this conflict was so severe, interrupted the reign of Seti II. Seti II died after 6 years of his reign, suddenly. He had children, yet no mention is made of his children. His spouse is set up as the new Pharaoh upon his untimely death. Amennakht is also referred to as "MSY" and Mose.  The charges are extremely broad, from ordering his men to do work for his personal benefit to murder.

(Both Ipuwer and Salt Papyrus 124 have variations by different translators.)

"EDWARD, OH MY GOD! COME HERE, I JUST FOUND MOSES IN EGYPT!!!"

I realized that I had just yelled with all my might and whirled around because I knew in the rather tiny cubical I was standing with a Guard in a Dark Blue Suit.

The day before we had been at Windsor Castle and I had caused the guards to all come running. I was seriously interested in the Doll House at Windsor. And in examining all the details had fully smashed my nose coming in full body contact with the glass. We had 6 or 8 upset guards and I was in serious nose pain. Edward had to explain I had built doll houses while I was bent double. They decided, after interrogation, they liked us and we all pointed out things in the Amazing Royal Doll House. We had fun. But they had said I was a "Hootenanny" and the Senior Guard said do not get in further guard attention-getting situations. And he was serious.

After I yelled, I realized yesterday I had been the hootenanny of the Windsor Guards. So I turned fast around to see if it was a repeat and in this obscure part of the British Museum's underground, off to the back corner, in a back cubical of loot, I found out I was the hootenanny again. The Guard asked how I was the hootenanny yesterday at Windsor. He was a man who was a little elderly, with black horn-rimmed Tate style glasses and, rather, slender.

The Guard yelled a bit. "WHAT did you do At Windsor?" I told him about the glass and Doll House. The Guard said, "They did call and said to be on the alert and look for you."

Edward said, "Oh My God."

The Guards eyebrows went up and he asked how many guards we were talking to.  We relaxed.

Edward asked where is Moses and I said right here and we looked. It's a very clear Papyrus. Amazingly clear. 1250 B.C. Unbeknownst to us at the time - the same age as the Ipuwer Papyrus telling of all the Plagues and the freak storm and waves at the end.

I turned back and spent about 5 minutes gazing at Moses in Salt Papyrus 124. The Guard said to Edward, "Give her a minute."

And then he said quietly, "What do you think?"

I said I think we just solved the Exodus and all the papyrus and statues the Pharaoh love to tear down.

The Guard said with a very angry face, but the sign says it's not Moses.

And I said, right, it always says that.

And the Guard said,"The Sign didn't say that at the beginning of my employment here about 30 years ago."

Today Salt Papyrus 124 is no longer on view.

Gaze deeply at the photo. Scholars can gain permission to see this Papyrus in amazing shape.

I asked, "Where is Seti II?"

He said, "Well, if you found Moses, maybe you can find Seti II !"

I looked hither and yon in the cubicle.

The Guard said, "I'm pulling your leg, Egypt doesn't let go of Pharaoh that easily."

I replied, "I saw Nefertiti in St Louis."

The Guard said, "You don't say."

I said I really did.

The Guard looked skeptical and said, "No, they haven't found Nefertiti yet."

I said the sign said it was.

He said, "Really they haven't found Nefertiti." And he added, "I tell you what, I bet some museum person was having a joke. When was this?"

1976ish,

The Guard said, "They used to let Pharaoh assistants travel around, but now they know more about atmosphere and deterioration. I bet it was a museum to librarian joke. "Was this a lesser mummy. What did the card look like?"

We decided it must have been a joke. A handwritten card.

The Guard said, "Now what do you think?"

I said, "I think the person who penned this, has seen Moses"

"Oh you mean, someone like Pharaoh's secretary?"

I said, "Maybe, or one of the entire pool of scribes, but this person has seen Moses maybe even growing up and a lot of Moses. Definitely passed him by in the hallway."

I added and said, "I think it's sad - the Author of 5 books of the Bible has an actual piece of paper and it's a scribe."

The Guard stood straighter, said, "I've stood in this cubical for 30 years and years and years by choice and even petitioned when they canceled personal guard in the cubicle room. Why would God allow a scribe to be the one who has the piece of paper?"

I thought about this. And said, "Well, we Don't Know the Scribe Do We."

The Guard said that was a valid point. And he looked angry and said, "Why would God allow this."

And, being 22 years old, I said, with a huge smile, "There is only ONE Dead Sea Scroll Library so far."

The Guard by choice and petition had put his life, his career choice, to guard Papyrus Salt 124. Our Guard said, "I was paid to guard Moses and no one would ever tell me differently."

I said that is getting paid to be a Minister of God without the Theology Degree and he nodded.

And The Guard said he had quite a few emotions about Salt Papyrus 124.

The Guard said he hoped the world would see Salt Papyrus 124 for what we saw.

I said Seti II is so minor.

And he said, "Yes, that was God's point too. That a Museum Guard is important to God too. That is the point of the Exodus. The point God died for each of us. Jesus Christ Lives. Moses is a debated piece of paper. The difference between gifted of God and GOD.

Salt Papyrus 124 Up Close - Very Clear
British Museum EA 10055
Late 19th dynasty, c. 1200 BC
From Deir el-Medina
The papyrus contains the petition of problems of  Amennakhte = Mose

Seti II - Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seti_II

"Seti II (or Sethos II), ... Evidently this 'Mose' must have been a person of the highest importance, perhaps the king Amenmesse himself or a senior ally of the king."

Deir el-Medina
Deir el-Medina (Arabic: دير المدينة‎) is an ancient Egyptian village which was home to the artisans who worked on the tombs in the Valley of the Kings during the 18th to 20th dynasties. The settlement's ancient name was "Set Maat" (translated as "The Place of Truth")

Perhaps another Museum would acquire this Papyrus and Display it again.

The Talmud was at times propaganda. This is the anti-propaganda of Mose.

Genesis 1:2 The Spirit of God Abiding

“Hark! How All the Welkin Rings”

Or “How all the heaven rings."

We are so grateful, Charles Wesley’s popular Hymn was changed by his friend George Whitefield. “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing!” John and Charles Wesley published 56 collections of hymns in 53 years. Charles Wesley wrote 8,989 hymns. Three times the output of poet William Wordsworth.

Charles Wesley wrote an average of 10 lines of verse every day for 50 years!  He completed an extant poem every other day.

Today we sing from looking at the Front Display Screens. The Lyrics are in the front. New Technology! Line by Line Lyrics!

In the 17th, 18th and 19th Centuries ~
The usual method of singing in church was by “lining out”—Having a leader 'say' one line, and the congregation repeat. Hymnbooks were expensive.

What is old is new again. We sing repeating lines so we experience the music, not concentration on learning complex changes. The Worship is in in the Spirit of Truth. Earnest and not showy.

Speaking of beginnings -

Genesis 1:2

The Spirit of God abides over the water.

Psalm 102:19

For He looked down
from His holy height;
From heaven the LORD
gazed upon the earth

Psalm 19:1-6

The heavens declare
the glory of God;
 the firmament shows his handiwork

Hebrews 11:3

By faith we understand
the universe was formed at God's command,
so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

Genesis 1:21

God created the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves,

with which the waters swarmed after their kind,
and every winged bird after its kind;
God saw that it was good.

Deuteronomy 33:13

Of Joseph he said, "Blessed of the LORD be his land,
With the choice things of heaven,
with the dew, And from the deep lying beneath"

Isaiah 31:5

Like birds hovering, so the LORD of hosts will protect Jerusalem;
he will protect and deliver it
he will spare and rescue it.

Isaiah 40

Comfort

God’s People
Comfort, comfort my people,
says your God

Speak tenderly to Jerusalem,
and proclaim to her, her hard service has been completed,
her sin has been paid for, she has received from the Lord’s hand
double for all her sins.

A voice of one calling:
“In the wilderness prepare
the way for the Lord;
make straight in the desert
a highway for our God.

Every valley shall be raised up,
every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level,
the rugged places a plain.

The glory of the Lord will be revealed,
and
all people
will see it together.
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.

Abba,

We ask Your Blessings!

We weave our Personal Prayers into our prayer, as we bring our Prayers, to Your Heart in Your Kingdom.

Lavish Love, You tell us You want to know all our thoughts and prayers. 1,000 Ribbons for our hair - all things are important to You- Our Father. The small details.

We know You are Lord. We have the eyes of faith to know You are our Lord God Almighty. Father GOD! We know and are strengthened with Joy.

We Praise You for Your Good Plan. Your Good Will.

We so very deeply - with all of our hearts, give thanks to being saved and covered by Jesus Christ.

LORD, You are my God; I will exalt You, I will give thanks to Your name; Care for us. Love our Loved ones.

Help all the people You give us. For You have worked wonders.

We are committed to Jesus. Asking You to help us always place You first. Seeing Your Goodness and Willingness to cover us with more Heaven on earth. Living in faith to see all of Your Holy Spirit renew, reawaken and rejoice.

In Jesus. We Pray Joyfully. AMEN.

Hebrews 11:1-12 ~ CONVICTION + !!!

Joel told us "Multitudes, Multitudes in the Valley of Decision"

Hebrews 11:1-12

1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

What does mankind want to see? The Movie "MIB" has a quote saying.

Men in Black (1997)
Kay: A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it. Fifteen hundred years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet.

Apply this quote to the Life and Ministry of Jesus. What were people thinking?

1. Jesus' first Sermon of His Ministry: 2 to 3 thousand people "All of Capernaum" arrive because they see Jesus has made the blind see, the deaf hear and the lame walk. The Signs in the Bible of the Messiah.

2. A Large Crowd saw the Widow of Nain receive her son back from the dead on his funeral bier - Jesus merely touched the bier.

3. Multitudes - 5,000 want to be fed and are.

4. Lazarus is healed and the people following Rome are panicked.

5. The Road to Emmaus we find "All of Jerusalem knows" - roughly 500,000 ***. Multitudes as in all the women were brave to witness Good Friday.

6. Populations - The Populations of Israel were said to be rather steadfast.

The Torah contains the number of (adult, male) Hebrews freed from Egypt, the descendants of the seventy sons and grandsons of Jacob who took up their residence in that country. Altogether, including Levites, the number given is 611,730. For non-Levites, this represents men fit for military service, i.e. between twenty and sixty years of age; among the Levites, the relevant number is those obligated in temple service (males between twenty and fifty years of age). This would imply a population of about 3,000,000.

The Census of David is said to have recorded 1,300,000 males over twenty years of age, which would imply a population of over 5,000,000.

Tacitus declares Jerusalem at 70 A.D. fall contained 600,000 persons ***; Josephus, there were as many as 1,100,000 slain in the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70. We have to remember there were three raids. The number of willing exiles who returned from Babylon is given at 42,360.

After Jesus died, The 36 Acres of the Temple contained in Biblical language multitudes upon multitudes and the Logistics of Josephus place this at 2 million.

Did you ever wonder why? Why?

All 5 million people could have turned up to see the Blind See. The Deaf Hear. The Lame Walk. All the Signs of the Messiah - told for millenniums. The Dead were raised. The Temple Official Jairus proclaimed his dead 12-year-old daughter found Life in Jesus. Yes, at the Festivals, the crowds looked for Jesus and this could be 2 million Jews.

I suppose, given the multitudes (about 5,000) routinely the crowds rotated. People had jobs and farms and families.

The people had to see with "faith" to believe. Routinely Jesus created Awe and Fear and Wonder. People had to lose Jesus and miss Him - to believe this was true. Jesus responded to this with something that could cause us all to weep. "Days will come."

Days will Come where we would all hope to put our eyes on Jesus.

And the millions had to know He was gone to understand. We seem to need faith to believe the greater facts of existence.

GOD IS WITH US - EMMANUEL... AMEN! Say that with me. AMEN.

2 For by it the people of old received their commendation.

3 By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God,
so that what is seen
was not made out of things that are visible.

4 By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain,
through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks.

5 By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God.

6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

7 By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen,
in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this, he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.

8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. 9 By faith, he went to LIVE in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise.

10 For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God.

11 By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born descendants as many as the stars of heaven and as many as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore.

About scripture-for-today.blogspot.com/

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He has saved all who call upon His name and rely on Him for His Grace. The Scriptures are living & active and are for understanding the Lord Almighty. Biblical readings are chosen from the Ecumenical Christian Church and the Nicene Council, 325 A.D., approved Apocrypha. People remember not just from reading, but by sight and orally- an image has been added as well as audio readings. God tends to link the passages together with fascinates - this blogger, Anne-Laurel Gardere

About Me

My photo
Email registry at bottom.! “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Men “moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
