Reading Scripture helps us know God's Love. Every Bible verse is written for you. Jesus Christ is all mankind's Light. John 1!

Acts 2:1-32 ~ lifted up

Pentecost ~ Brave men facing the Fire of God

Acts 2:1-32

When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven
a sound like a mighty rushing wind,
and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.

And divided tongues as of fire
appeared to them
and rested on each one of them.

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit
and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language.

And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language? Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.”

And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?”

But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine.”

But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them:
“Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words. For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel:

“‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
    and your old men shall dream dreams;
even on my male servants and female servants
in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.
And I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
    blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;
the sun shall be turned to darkness
    and the moon to blood,
before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day.
And it shall come to pass that
everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord
shall be saved.’

“Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know— this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it. For David says concerning him,

“‘I saw the Lord always before me,
    for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken;
therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced;
my flesh also will dwell in hope.
For you will not abandon my soul to Hades,
or let your Holy One see corruption.
You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’

“Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses. Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing.

Moses and the unconsumed bush

I have a good friend, who watched on video an Exodus recreation through the wilderness, she felt discomforted because she said she would have been one of the people complaining.  I pointed out the video did not show the cloud by day and the fire by night. Manna is contemplated as being a Gift of God created by the desert blooming.  Not an explainable miracle of God due to nature, part of God's Good Creation, instead, many ways to contemplate the Word of God in drawing closer to Jesus Christ.

What the Disciples faced having betrayed their good friend, the Son of God, Messiah. The anger Jesus people have for Jesus being betrayed.... Being the Beloved of Jesus, in obedience, has rewards.

Numbers 11

Now the people complained about their hardships in the hearing of the Lord,
and when he heard them his anger was aroused.

Then fire from the Lord burned among them and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp.

2 When the people cried out to Moses, he prayed to the Lord and the fire died down.

3 So that place was called Taberah, because fire from the Lord had burned among them.

Exodus 3:14

Then Moses asked God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is His name?’ What should I tell them?”

14 God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.

This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”

15 God also told Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The LORD, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’

This is My name forever, and this is how I am to be remembered in every generation.

We don't expect to fly to the Promised Land. The Children of Israel walked. Only Jesus Christ ascends. We find reasons to Trust the Lord and listen to Jesus fill every dot and iota. We cannot. We do not uphold the Universe. God upholds the Universe with the power of His Word.

Give The Lord the Awe of the blind see and the deaf hear. And decide, with Jesus, God has more wisdom than our few years of life on earth. As we seek to find His Love, we find His Love.

How would we justify God's actions. The Nation of Israel exists today. Even from 500 years of Egyptian slavery of the Hebrews found in the Tax Records of Thutmose III and the Ipuwer in the Netherlands Museum.  Joseph's name inscribed on a Pharaoh statue.

  1. In Ramses II's topographical list (ca.1275 BC) the place-name "Jacob-El" (#9) appears again (ANET 1969, 242; Simons 1937). The first appearance was in Thutmose III's list. This means that this city of Jacob has been around for two hundred years. Another interesting name that was found is yhw which is "Yahweh" in Hebrew (Horn 1953, 201; Giveon 1964, 244).
  2. It seems abundantly clear from all these topographical lists concerning Canaan that the Hebrews were in Canaan at this time, but they did not use the name "Israel" until there league of tribes was well formed by the time of Merneptah.
  1. On a statue-base of Amenhotep III at Kom el Hetan which is the funerary temple of Amenhotep III there is a topographical list with the place-name Yspir (Series a:1; Kitchen 1965, 2). This is the same name translated "Joseph-El" in Thutmose III's Topographical list (ANET 1969, 242). After Yspir in both lists the place-name Rkd appears (Series a:2 in Amenhotep III's list, and #79 in Thutmose III's list; Simons 1937, 112). Rkd is the same place-name as Ruhizzi in the El Amarna letters (EA 53:36, 56; EA 5426; EA 56:26; EA 191:2; Rainey 1982, 354). The ruler of Ruhizzi is Arsawuya who seems to be located in northern Palestine or southern Syria (EA 53:36, 56; Moran, 125)
On a statue of Amenhotep III at Kom el Hetan - Amenhotep’s funeral statue has a base and on the base of the statue is "Joseph-el". Joseph of God. Referring to Joseph who predicted the huge famine, and became Visor to Pharaoh. Joseph Messenger of God.

Amenhotep III has a mortuary palace in Kom el Hetan where it was only discovered in 2009. The papyrus at the bases of the statues have provided interesting clues to Joseph.

Today, Edward and I were completely blessed and speaking with this Sermon.

I have to say, I believe this is a Favorite Sermon of my life on Pentecost.

Is our Unity the same as the diversity of appreciation of God's Many, Diverse Gifts? Is the Unity of the Holy Spirit? Will we unify in the Word of God, Jesus Messiah, Only Son of God?

The Diversity of God has One Plan. To save the World in Jesus Christ. God of Love. God is Love.

The Plan of God is blessing us with Gifts.

To Upbuild the Body of Jesus in Love.

Our Celebrations and Worship
should be reflections of the Beauty of God.

Held high to bring others higher.

  Ephesians 4
10 He who descended is the very One who ascended above all the heavens, in order to fill all things. 11 And it was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for works of ministry and to build up the body of Christ

We live in an era of elbows out. And collectively we want to heal our world from the Pandemic and fights-on-airplanes-brains historically seen after Pandemic. Being clear, on Facebook, Tiktok, Twitter and plain life,  we find evangelists are mad at apostles, prophets debunked for their gift, teachers caught up in media and agenda, saints upset their ministry isn't first, the body of Christ told tennis lessons in news and facts and pandemics, pastors told not to move from the line.  Even if you write a Blog reaching millions, told you don't do enough. We are all under fire from something. Our fellowship is in the harsh comment and difficult circumstance.

C'mon people now. Smile on your brother. Everybody get together. Try to love one another right now.

Be encouraged with a Word of sincerity. There is more kindness than we have seen before the Pandemic. The Pandemic Google searches were of hope in the Lord. We see new ground being handed back to us, gains in kindness.  The Lord gives us the Blessing knowing when we ask more Heaven on earth, we are in His Favor.  The Lord loves the Kingdom of Righteous love, justice, mercy and walk with the Lord allowing Him to be God. We are merciful to God and His people.

We have to have more of the daily adventure of Spain, the joy of seeing nature in Australia, double doses of the French tradition to bless with our words for the day or the, ' bless the journey' Bon journee,  UK habits to gather together over tea or pint.  The joy of Japan found collectively.  The families of Mexico loving to get together and support one another. The Irish are grateful for their Nation.  We need to know beyond the borders to see the real promises of God in His Good Creation.

1 Corinthians 12:3-14

3 Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says, “Jesus is accursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord”
except in the Holy Spirit.

4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; 5 and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; 6 and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. 7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 8 For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.

One Body with Many Members
12 For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.

14 For the body does not consist of one member but of many.

Abba, Father,

Help us to Fight the Good Fight
to be the Heart and Words of Love.

We sing a song of the saints of God,
patient and brave and true,
who toiled and fought and lived and died
for the Lord
they loved and knew.

And one was a doctor, and one was a queen,
and one was a shepherdess on the green:

All of them saints of God, and I mean,
God helping, to be one too.

Love the Lord so dear, so dear,
and
God’s love make us strong.

Follow right, for Jesus’ sake,
the whole of our good lives long.

One is a soldier, and one is a priest,
and one slain by a fierce wild beast:
and there’s not any reason, no, not the least,
why we shouldn’t be one too.

They lived not only in ages past;
there are hundreds of thousands still;

The world is bright with the joyous saints
who love to do Jesus’ will.

You can meet them in school, or in lanes, or at sea,
in church, or in trains, or in shops, or at tea;
for the saints of God are just folk like me,
and we want to be one too.

To You be the Glory.
Amen in Jesus, Amen.

Dwell in those we Love.
Help us always to seek You First.
In Jesus Christ, we will finish well.

We pray for Ukraine, times are difficult and hopeful.

We pray the violence will stop here and in Your Good Creation.

Lord Father, Lord Jesus, we pray the horrible heat waves will end.

We ask for the return of good weather.

And ask Your Love and Mercy on the
many difficult challenges of healing from the Pandemic.

In Jesus Christ Amen Amen Amen

James 1:20 ~ The anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

James 1:20

The anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

We all get angry at God, it's just - it's not righteous.

And God isn't going to say - "Oh man, blew that situation. Look at Frank over there - what Was I Thinking."

God just doesn't have to be - Politically Correct. This is His Story, and He knows the Days Written.

Consider a Very non-politically correct story of God. Actually, two. Elijah had some interest in FIRE!!!

2 Kings 1:10

Elijah answered the captain of fifty, “If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty.” Then fire came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty."

Elisha had a similar Not PC moment.

2 Kings 2:23

From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some boys came out of the town and jeered at him. "Get out of here, baldy!" they said. "Get out of here, baldy!" He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the LORD. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the boys.

(Mauled means an animal wound to a person or animal by scratching and tearing. How much damage occurs to 42 boys when two bears arrive. And do you claim mauled if you scrap yourself on a tree climbing? )

Elijah was Brave.
Elijah stood up boldly for God in a very difficult time of life - God was cast aside for human sacrifice. Something He has always abhorred. Elijah means "My God is Yah(weh)."

Why didn't God honor Life above the actual human beings with hearts, two arms and two legs.

He was in the process of affirming life.

God sees events Very Differently that we do.

Isaiah 55:8

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,
declares the LORD.

God, Genesis and the Psalms inform us, the fullness of the Earth - Belong to Him.

The people who died are not - LOST - to God.
They have Gone Home. His Kingdom - His Valley of Decision.

We All have an invitation to leave this planet.
Personally. Significantly. For the Long Term. I Pray. Let me be taken like a Camellia. Whole.
Intact. With My Boots On.

God tells us in the First Chapter of His Story - HE finds what HE gives us in this life - Good. He continues to find Life - Good - because HE is affirming life and creates more.

Is God angry? God is Not known in all the aspects of His Story of His Nature - Given to Us - as a God of Anger. How can we judge God for HIS anger?

No doubt, our seven to eight decades indicate our wisdom - No doubt, but we are the people, And wisdom shall die with us. Not exactly.

God says Fear is the beginning of judgement. He also says Real Love casts out fear. And in this extrapolation, Elijah would not get far jumping up and down Screaming Baal is good: as the idol claimed infant sacrifice is needed for crops to come in and financial blessing.

We love to scream about this passage and have it screamed to us - but - who reasons this out?

Look in the Hospitals - Life and Death are daily events to God. Life is not created by mankind - we have no idea how to create life - we merely use what He gives us. Life is, after all, a voyage Home.

We have these endless and silly debates about Salvation. WHO is Saved. Salvation is a Work of God. He never in the 3,000 pages of the Scriptures, once, remotely, asks if we could please Help Him Judge Salvation.

Instead - God says work. God gives mankind the work to believe God.

Work. Work out our "own" Salvation with fear and trembling. Fear is the beginning of wisdomReal Love Casts out Fear. Worth repeating.

Philippians 2

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now,
not only as in my presence but much more in my absence,
work out your own salvation with fear and trembling,

for it is God who works in you,
both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

Do all things without grumbling or disputing,
that you may be blameless and innocent,
children of God without blemish
in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation,
among whom you shine as lights in the world,
holding fast to the Word of Life,
so that

 In the day of Christ
I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.

God allowed Elijah and Elisha to do something rude.

Jesus was confronted with a real and profound doubt - a rudeness if you will - to His Authority. By John the Baptist about to die. John the Baptist is compared to Elijah by Jesus, after seeing Elijah in the transfiguration. (Witnessed by men - John trying not to overwhelm the listener.)

John sent a message to Jesus in his hour of death - asking Jesus - publicly - is He the correct person, as the Messiah.

God does not zap John the Baptist, yet He tells us lack of faith takes us down. He is saying, in effect, if we can - "Let not our hearts be troubled" - to seize faith.

Jesus does not set bears on the messengers.
We don't have to say that twice. John the Baptist creates questioning in his own disciples instead of leadership. Proving once again, be it - TV evangelist, Christian Singer, Elijah, Elisha - any person - will let you down. But If we put our Hope in Jesus Christ - He will not disappoint us. We are not to expect a waiter or Santa or the Grim Judge.

Only God is Good.

God said you can ridicule the name of Jesus and bother Him, but not to complain about the Holy Spirit. (Yes, of course, we are not supposed to take His name in vain.) The Holy Spirit brings God to us. Dwelling in us. God doesn't get fussy, but He wants us to understand how He strives for us and not to break the connection of us to Him. We seem to take God up on this, God is cussed, Jesus' name is blasphemed, yet, rarely, do you hear someone cuss the Holy Spirit.

We are assured, Jesus will not break a bruised reed. Jesus said if we, "Let our hearts not be troubled,"  He creates a place for us in Heaven. Too far off you say - Heaven - what about:

Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things
God works (interweaves)
for the good of those who love Him,

Who have been called according to His Purpose

A huge statement - that is under the category of - Unseen Faith. The eyes of faith have to see many 'somethings' unfold in thirty or more years.

The Scripture exists to explain the nature of God.
There is always a need to dig down deep to find the reasoning.

Remembering Elijah did more than just one event.

~ Elijah knew who he was, God’s representative
~ “Elijah called, “The Tishbite, who was of the settlers of Gilead ” six times and was well known by this title - a rocky area - indicating a hard life - a journey to survive the area

~ Tishbe” means “to take captive” - Bringing God back into Israel.

~ Was direct and laid it on the line. He said there would be neither dew nor rain for years except by his word.

~ King Ahab's response - is not recorded. Scripture is silent. This demonstrates the promises and warnings of God’s Word always take precedence over man’s response or opinions.

~ God’s Word is true regardless of how people respond or react.

~ God sent Elijah to live with a widow in Zarephath and prevented starvation.

~ The widow's son died. Elijah stretched himself on the boy's body three times, and God restored the child's life.

~ Elijah challenged the 450 prophets of Baal and the 400 prophets of the false god Asherah to a showdown on Mount Carmel.
~ Elijah called on the Lord, and God's fire fell from heaven, consuming the offering, the wood, the altar, the water, and even the dust around it.

~ Elijah overcame fear and depression.

~ Elijah prayed, and rain fell on Israel.

~ An angel brought him food.

~ Elijah to anoint his successor, Elisha (God and his workmen feel the work goes on).
~ God sent chariots and horses of fire and took Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind, while Elisha stood watching.

The righteousness of God does not need mankind.

We are blessed to be Heard.

God does more than that, and allows prayer to move His Hands.

Abba, Father,

Your Nature is God of Love. God of Encouragement. God of Hope.
God wants to save the world in Jesus Christ.

The Nature of Jesus Christ is on display for all generations.
Jesus did not send down fire upon the Samaritans.

Jesus explained God allows divorce for hard-heartedness.
And explains if we Believe in the Scriptures
we should do the work God gives us to believe,
Love and Bless one another.

He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His nature, upholding all things by His powerful word.

After He had provided purification for sins,
He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

Thank You for creating us to be who You want us to be.

Today, we choose to see ourselves as You see us, to believe in our life in You
as You believe in us and to love each other as You love us.

Thank you for the resurrection power of Your Presence
- living in us as individuals and in your Church.

Dwell in those we Love.
Help us always to seek You First.
In Jesus Christ, we will finish well.

Asking Your Help and Blessing
on Marriages and Families.

Your Beloved, pray for Ukraine, times are difficult and hopeful.

We pray the violence will stop here and in Your Good Creation.

In Jesus Christ, We pray the horrible heat waves will end.

We ask for the return of good weather.

And ask Your Love and Mercy on the
many difficult challenges of healing from the Pandemic.

We receive everything You desire for us this day. And the days to come.
In Jesus. Amen.

Matthew 18:10-20 ~ † For the Son of Man came to save the lost † †

Matthew 18:10-12

10 “Take care that you do not despise one of these little ones; for, I tell you, in heaven their angels continually see the face of my Father in heaven.

For the Son of Man came to save the lost.

What do you think? If a shepherd has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray?

And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray.

So it is not the will of your Father in Heaven that one of these little ones should be lost.

15 “If another member of the church sins against you, go and point out the fault when the two of you are alone. If the member listens to you, you have regained that one. 16 But if you are not listened to, take one or two others along with you, so that every word may be confirmed by the evidence of two or three witnesses. 17 If the member refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if the offender refuses to listen even to the church, let such a one be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.

Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

Again, truly I tell you, if two of you agree on earth about anything you ask, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.”

Reason out your responsibility.

So. A sheep is not worth as much as a cow.

And if a cow is lost in the old-time stampede to market - well you go and look and after a time - you give up. Because you can't endanger the herd for a few. A few of the herd are not going to make it to market.

We get so caught up in the mercy of God and life necessity to us - we forget the message.

Jesus lived his 3.5 years of ministry in a daily upheaval of Glory and problems people handed Jesus, attitudes and actions. Jesus did not stand outside the Temple, flap His arms daily, saying the Sanhedrin Council was unhappy with Him for these years. Jesus our Christ, didn't rush from His Resurrection to the Temple to stand in front of the Holy of Holies and Yell, "TADA."

The Point is. Sort of. David was by himself

as the Shepherd of his family flock
when the Prophet Samuel showed up and began to look how to do God's will...

David was that sheep out in the field about to be - Overlooked.

Today, our local Christian Radio station said divorce lawyers have reported divorce questions and meetings are up 34% since the Pandemic. People are in a profound mess. Our people are far more upset than we realized previously.

David was a young boy, and if he had gone home to his father Jesse and said, "Aww, I saved Baby Lambkins, but soo sorry the herd got eaten by the lions." (Archaeology says existed and David fought.) His Jesse Dad would have said, "Saved Baby Lambkins, that's Terrific, Son!"

When you read the History of the Saints canonized, you find many unusual histories in their lives. And because the histories go back to the 1400s, you find many were literal shepherds. With the smell of sheep in their shepherding. Rural areas, like David, and alone. The isolation is something our generation understands in this Pandemic. You'd find they felt abused and isolated. You'd read the saints could be very young, with joy and ability, to give generously to their Church, they entered in triumphant at an early age.  Amazingly, you'd read,  St. Rita was transported to find that as a destitute widow, and loss of all her children, she was given the most meek and abused jobs to do at the nunnery.

Why was someone like St. Rita abused? The path of the Lord. She had been living such a humble existence in the middle of crime laden areas, humility was something God Himself had led her along in her life journey. God was using the circumstances to His Glory.  He had prepared and prepares His Beloved to do the witness He prepares us to give. His Glory Overcomes Hardship.

If we needed a snap, happy jingle to remember this:
Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't. Almond Joy has nuts, Mounds don't. However, today, we would have to say:  Sometimes You Feel Like a Cow, other days a Sheep. Baa Humbug to Hooks.

Saints, in their literal history of literally shepherding, were known to take the tool of the shepherding, plant it in the ground, and go off to worship in Church with a prayer for the Lord to be The Supreme Shepherd.

The truth is the Bible is giving the Shepherds the ability to understand: God is ultimately responsible for their flock. He has given His Word Manifest - Jesus the Messiah - literally when shepherds make mistakes, like seeming to support abortion, The Bible explains His Way, Truth and Life.

The Truth is The Bible, His Scriptures explain, The Glory of God, Himself, does want to save the entire world in Jesus Christ. We cannot. Salvation is a Gift of God the Almighty. Maker of All Things. When we grow weary and have limits to our ability and are seen as weak or impossible, God will continue.  His workman go home, His Work Continues.

This passage is about nicey appearances, personal responsibility, human upheaval and rudeness. Completely.

The Bible is about real life.

The Bible tells us God is God.

There is a time to flee. The Bible explains:

Sexual sin. Certainly, when 1 of 6 people feel they have been used or damaged, harmed sexually. (Doing STD tests while volunteering with Pro Life for 3.5 years, you find people think they can trust someone and then find mental games, emotional loss, sorrow and loss of innate self-esteem. Be careful out there!)  Flee to Peace.  Flee armies. Flee desolation. (Like Tsunami empty beaches, dead from plague crowds and war.)  Flee strangers, or they could be angels.  Flee idols, be sensible.  Flee controversy, quarrels, envy, suspicion, constant friction  = evil.  Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. Flee fleeting sin.

Flee not when you are responsible for your people? No.  Fleeing is for hired hands.

Flee the devil.  Devil - lies, use God to command, take away the Word in your heart,  traitor, oppression of people, deceit, make paths crooked instead of straight.  Puffed with conceit. The devil seeks to cause falling into disgrace. Seeking Someone to devour (on FB!). To make hateful comments and plot. To consume and envy. Tear someone up, to scatter them.

God never tells us to flee from asking God for help or our needs.
Never flee asking God about our lives and thoughts.

Never be those passing by the injured Samaritan.

Never fail to Love.

Salvation is God's Desire. Salvation is in God's Hands.
We do what we can to love our neighbor as ourselves. Asking in Prayer for more Love.

Abba, Father,

We ask You to Live within us
to You,
all hearts are open
there are no secrets or hidden desires.

Dwell in those we Love.
Help us always to seek You First.
In Jesus Christ, we will finish well.

We pray for Ukraine, times are difficult and hopeful.

We pray the violence will stop here and in Your Good Creation.

We pray the horrible heat waves will end.

We ask for the return of good weather.

And ask Your Love and Mercy on the
many difficult challenges of healing from the Pandemic.

In Jesus Christ Amen Amen Amen

About scripture-for-today.blogspot.com/

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He has saved all who call upon His name and rely on Him for His Grace. The Scriptures are living & active and are for understanding the Lord Almighty. Biblical readings are chosen from the Ecumenical Christian Church and the Nicene Council, 325 A.D., approved Apocrypha. People remember not just from reading, but by sight and orally- an image has been added as well as audio readings. God tends to link the passages together with fascinates - this blogger, Anne-Laurel Gardere

A simple blog, scripture-for-today.blogspot

This blog is pretty simple, but for a reason. This blog isn't about agenda or me, it is for the joy and love to found by reading the Scriptures. Ultimately, it is you and the Lord.

The Scriptures are Father God's letter to you. He wanted you to know more, to know He loves you.

About Me

My photo
Email registry at bottom.! “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Men “moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
