Psalm 86: Show me a sign of Your favor
Hello Everyone participating in Scripture for Today
We have all (almost) seen the church sign that says in the parking lot: "Now entering the mission field". Thank you for your participation for Scriptures for Today.
We have one participant who sends it over occasionally to co-workers in Africa. We have had requests from people within Texas, but not local. We have local people asking to be added to the list and someone added from Malaysia. We have had questions that have been so interesting. And several conversations I'd like to share with you.
Scripture for Today has been a blessing to me & a learning tool. It is formed from the choices given from the daily liturgy. http://www.crivoice.org/ordinary1.html . I recognize phrases from the bible but I am very uninformed as to what passage is what. In this case, this is probably a good thing. I look over the stated passages of the day, pray and pick one. Until it loads up on my screen, I am unaware of the passage. Then I pray again and look at the title taken from key phrases in the daily passage, mostly the photo (prayed over again) is picked from the key biblical phrase or something that zooms into my mind. Still prayed about and then sent to you. In my meandering way, until today I have forgotten to ask for this to go out in the power of the Spirit. But being God, He forgives me.
Because this is not planned out by me at all, I am very pleasantly surprised it fits together. My favorite is lately, the open sign I photo-shopped for one day (a writer but not thee Author!) and next day the news story from Fox about the Lord raising the heart dead patient from the dead. The Lord is open indeed. 24/7.

Psalm 107:28-30
28 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress.
29 He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.
30 They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven.
Matthew 8: 23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Lord, save us! We're going to drown!"
26He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
27The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!"
The Lord has done this so many times, but it is recorded again yesterday by Fox News 11/15:

Down in Florida, cardiologist Dr. Chauncey Crandall brought a man, who had died of a massive heart attack in the emergency room, back to life by prayer. The story seemed amazing to me because I first heard mention of the story after Dr. Crandall, an evangelical Christian, gave a presentation to a group of doctors (also Christians) explaining what had happened. He used medical records and charts to prove his claims.
After interviewing Dr. Crandall, the patient and the patient's family, I found it very hard not to believe something miraculous happened in that ER. We're told that after 30 or 40 minutes of electric paddles and other methods of trying to resuscitate the patient, the hospital called Dr. Crandall down to the Emergency Room to give a final say of whether to give up efforts. Crandall arrived to find the patient not breathing and unresponsive to the electric volts. His extremities were black, indicating no blood was flowing through his body. Dr. Crandall said, "OK, let's call it," which means to tell the morgue to get ready for another guest.
As Dr. Crandall left the room he said he heard God's voice telling him to go back and pray for that man. He did. He prayed "in the name of Jesus..." He told the staff to give one more shot of the paddles. They did. Immediately, the man's heart began to beat. His hands began to move, and he once again began to breath.

Psalm 86: Show me a sign of Your favor - posted the open sign photo.
Blends with November 16th without prior or any human plan.
This Sunday I recorded my grandmother's passing in 1992 because the sermon was about the ability to give Thanks. My grandmother was an amazing christian woman, who gave Thanks so well. I hope you will take the time to read about her life and death. I hope you saw the video from msnbc on November 21 about Zack Dunlap, prayed for and stopping his own organ donation after the town people saw a sign to pray for him.
I received a conversation from a participant who had been discussing divorce with the spouse on Sunday. Their conversation was what does the Lord say about divorce, they decided not to pursue divorce after seeing Monday's gospel about Jesus on divorce.
The daily liturgy is for reading what God has to say in small amounts instead of taking on the bible as a whole. I hope for you that that the word is living and active. Please pray for Scripture for Today to be tool of praise drawing people closer to the love the Lord God has for them.
The bible was written for you.
