Matthew 28:16-20
16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them inb the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
We agree Jesus is the Authority. The Son of God. How will we know when we have reached high enough and find Jesus' Authority?
Scriptures record the Disciples were in awe of Jesus. He knew them. He loved them. John identified Jesus as Love. And people who love - love God.
1 John 4:8
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
Remember with me, the Gospels have endured for centuries to millenniums while the population was not all literate. Large Churches did not have microphones. People in the back might ask each other, "What did you hear? What did you learn?"
Jesus simplified things. He knew His Beloved People. He knew that you might not hear it all in a Large Temple or Church. Jesus knew you might reach out in a traumatic time and need to understand Who Jesus Is.
Jesus explained to a woman in trouble:
John 4:23-26
23 But the hour is coming,
and is now here,
when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.
24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” 25 The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah is coming (he who is called Christ). When he comes, he will tell us all things.” 26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am he.”
John 13:34
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."
Who is Jesus? This is Jesus, Son of God.
John 1
Philip said to him, “Come and see.”
47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no deceit!” 48 Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?” Jesus answered him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” 49 Nathanael answered him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!”
1 John 4:10
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
Father God,
You have graciously give us Salvation. Being Father God, the Lord God Almighty, You want to save all of Your creation. I believe You, Father God, credit this to me as the Righteousness of Jesus' Grace, forgiveness and redemption.
We lift up the ones we Love to You in confidence that even the Prodigal Son returns when he encounters Your Love. We lift up the cares of the People You have given us. We ask for health and mercy for Edward.
For The People of France and the world to have safety and come up with concealed handguns, for the brave spirit we have seen in Todd Beamer, along with Mark Bingham, Tom Burnett, and Jeremy Glick Lou Nacke, Rich Guadagno, Alan Beaven, Honor Elizabeth Wainio, Linda Gronlund, and William Cashman, Sandra Bradshaw and Cee Cee Ross-Lyles.
