Westminster Abbey - a work of God.
God buries His workmen, but carries on His work.
-Charles Wesley
England has one King who is a Saint. Edward the Confessor reigned 24 years, 8 June 1042 – 5 January 1066. A very unlikely king, Edward was the seventh son of Æthelred the Unready, and the first by his second wife, Emma of Normandy. What God plans to do, God Will. Edward is not recorded as being interested in art and books, but Westminster Abbey explains he was an innovating and generous patron of the Church.
Edward the Confessor was the first Anglo-Saxon and the only King of England to be Canonized 7 February 1161.
Westminster Abbey was still seeing construction in 1725. Further rebuilding, restoration continued in the 19th century.
Cathedrals tell us of the Magnificence of a Living God.
Beauty and Magnificence are from His Throne.
We build our lives knowing we will exit this temporary life.
God builds only upon Eternity.
Works of God
Westminster Abbey is an important and enduring work of God. According to oral history, the site began as a vision of St Peter was seen. In the 7th century, a Church was built. And in 1042 A.D., King Edward the Saint began to build St. Peter at Westminster.
King Edward left no children and left England to his nephew, William the Conqueror. Like Charles Wesley said, "God buries His workmen, but carries on His work."
And there is, of course, a Way, Truth and Life of Jesus in this.
Who, as Lord of All, would of course, be the most important part of this Post.
Westminster is not remembered to be named for St. Peter. King Edward never danced naked here. Westminster is not remembered to be named for St. Edward. Westminster was not re-named for William the Conqueror. Westminster is remembered as enduring. Like the Church of Jesus. Proclaimed by Jesus in Caesarea, before any Church was conceived.
The obedience of servants to God, in His Word, created a Work of God.
Jesus, as part of Father God, chose to be obedient. Jesus was obedient to God.
Let's consider the status of Jesus as God.
The Importance of Jesus as God. The Oneness Jesus tells us of His Glory.
In Creation, God wants Life.
God speaks the Word of God and Jesus is manifest Word of God.
Father God is above All. Jesus is created.
And over the water, the Holy Spirit hovers.
All the oneness of God is in Creation.
Father God glorifies His Son. Jesus seeks the Glory of His Father.
Barnabus is pleased. The Son of Encouragement. An Aspect of God.
We learn later through the Steadfast Love of God to all generations, Jesus is Living Water. We see the completion of the Creation story - how close God is.
Matthew 3:13-17
13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him. 14 John would have prevented him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?”
15 But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented.
16 And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him;
17 and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
Participating in a Work of God.
Moses is always remembered in the Exodus.
And yet, the Exodus is a Work of God.
Quieter, not making the movies, is Joshua.
Yeshua resumes the work of Joshua.
When we say the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand, we are saying yesterday, today and tomorrow.
All we have to do to participate in a Work of God, is ageless.
We do exactly what the people did after Jesus returned Victorious from death.
We believe in our Hearts and confess with our mouths "Jesus is Lord."
And each day we realize we are living the Lord's Prayer, when we say, "Your Will be done on earth, as in Heaven."
At the end of the day we can smile, as we put our head on the pillow, knowing we pleased Father God.
Father God,
You are my God. You are merciful. Thank You, You listen to me and answer.
You are the Helper and You are God.
All my life, I pray asking You to pray with me.
Thank You, you are good us us all and forgiving.
You are filled and full with constant love to all who pray to You.
We rest in times of trouble, because we know You answer prayers.
There is no God apart from You.
Help this time and this world to ask of You.
Fill them with wonder and care at Your Greatness.
You are mighty and do wonderful things;
you alone are God.
Each day.
Teach me, Lord, what you want me to do,
and I will obey you faithfully;
teach me to serve you with complete devotion.
I praise you with all my heart, O Lord my God;
I will proclaim your greatness forever.
How great is your constant love for me!
You have saved me from the grave itself.
You, O Lord, are a merciful and loving God,
always patient, always kind and faithful.
I Bless Jesus. Thank You.
You lift up your smile to me and have mercy on me;
strengthen me and save me.
Amazing Father God,
You have given me comfort and help.
Thanks be unto God our Father. In Jesus. Amen.
