Psalm 101
Of David. A psalm.
1 I will sing of steadfast love and justice;
to you, O Lord, I will make music.
2 I will ponder the way that is blameless.
Oh when will you come to me?
I will walk with integrity of heart
within my house;
3 I will not set before my eyes
anything that is worthless.
I hate the work of those who fall away;
it shall not cling to me.
4 A perverse heart shall be far from me;
I will know nothing of evil.
to you, O Lord, I will make music.
2 I will ponder the way that is blameless.
Oh when will you come to me?
I will walk with integrity of heart
within my house;
3 I will not set before my eyes
anything that is worthless.
I hate the work of those who fall away;
it shall not cling to me.
4 A perverse heart shall be far from me;
I will know nothing of evil.
5 Whoever slanders his neighbor secretly
I will destroy.
Whoever has a haughty look and an arrogant heart
I will not endure.
I will destroy.
Whoever has a haughty look and an arrogant heart
I will not endure.
6 I will look with favor on the faithful in the land,
that they may dwell with me;
he who walks in the way that is blameless
shall minister to me.
that they may dwell with me;
he who walks in the way that is blameless
shall minister to me.
7 No one who practices deceit
shall dwell in my house;
no one who utters lies
shall continue before my eyes.
shall dwell in my house;
no one who utters lies
shall continue before my eyes.
This beautiful Psalm is a person who loves the Lord wants to serve Him. In the morning, He is their first thought. This is a happy person who enjoys making a beautiful song - making a beautiful noise before the Lord. Someone who seeks others who love the Lord. No double standards and no spiteful speech. The blessings of life do not cause this person to love life more than the Lord - the glories of life do not cause arrogance or haughtiness.
Anointed of God - these are the attitudes.
Come Lord Jesus.
This is a Psalm of David. Who lived in the real world, with real life, fighting enemies without and within. Flawed and still trusting God to be his righteousness.
St. Thomas Aquinas said of the seven levels of Heaven, the first is highest to the Lord God and probably holds the infants and the martyrs. I'm not sure all the people who have placed Father God first, like the Disciple John, have died for the faith. And Revelation writes of Father God listening the cries of the martyrs awake during the fifteen hundred year sleep to ask for justice and vengeance. Father God comforts them and gives comforting and beautiful white robes to slumber on until the fifteen hundred years have occurred.
A far different thing than Stephen, the radiance of God's Love and Eternity sees Heaven open for Stephen welcoming him.
Not only this - Ephesians 3 says:
14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Abundantly. Where His Storehouses are never depleted and All Blessings Flow with His Good Word.
Ephesians 3 tells us Families live. A family is together to be a family. These are people living together, so Father God is doing something where "His Ways are not our ways" with those 7 levels of Heaven. And infants in the first level would be depleted of many kith and kin. Not all people had beautiful childhoods, I was fortunate, and they wouldn't want to repeat the years of such struggles.
The Prophet Zechariah had something to say about this, the mothers whose hope is reconnecting lost children in a comprehensible, emotional bond. Not the years missed skipped over.
4"Thus says the LORD of hosts, 'Old men and old women will
again sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each man with his staff in his hand because of age.
5'And the streets of the city will be filled with boys and girls playing in its streets.' 6"Thus says the LORD of hosts, 'If it is too difficult in the sight of the remnant of this people in those days, will it also be too difficult in My sight?' declares the LORD of hosts.
Ponder the way that is blameless... The Way, the Truth and the Life of Jesus Christ.
Our prayer today is one of a mercenary,
a poor father at times,
The Lord has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him ruler of his people ~ 1 Samuel 13,14
Let's Pray with David for the people we love and pray for: 2 Samuel 7:18-29
Father we sit with You, praying for the people we love, Jesus pray with us, please,
Then King David went in and sat before the Lord and said, “Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my house, that you have brought me thus far?
19 And yet this was a small thing in your eyes, O Lord God. You have spoken also of your servant's house for a great while to come, and this is instruction for mankind, O Lord God!
20 And what more can David say to you? For you know your servant, O Lord God! 21 Because of your promise, and according to your own heart, you have brought about all this greatness, to make your servant know it.
22 Therefore you are great, O Lord God. For there is none like you, and there is no God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears. 23 And who is like your people Israel, the one nation on earth whom God went to redeem to be his people, making himself a name and doing for them great and awesome things by driving out before your people, whom you redeemed for yourself from Egypt, a nation and its gods?
24 And you established for yourself your people Israel to be your people forever. And you, O Lord, became their God.
25 And now, O Lord God, confirm forever the word that you have spoken concerning your servant and concerning his house, and do as you have spoken. 26 And your name will be magnified forever, saying, ‘The Lord of hosts is God over Israel,’ and the house of your servant David will be established before you. 27 For you, O Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, have made this revelation to your servant, saying, ‘I will build you a house.’ Therefore your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to you.
28 And now, O Lord God, you are God, and your words are true, and you have promised this good thing to your servant. 29 Now therefore may it please you to bless the house of your servant, so that it may continue forever before you. For you, O Lord God, have spoken, and with your blessing shall the house of your servant be blessed forever.”
We ask for Your Gracious favor, Father God, to be covered in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
