Psalm 27
The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold [refuge] of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold [refuge] of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When evildoers assail me
to eat up my flesh,
my adversaries and foes,
it is they who stumble and fall.
to eat up my flesh,
my adversaries and foes,
it is they who stumble and fall.
3 Though an army encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
yet [in this] I will be confident.
my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
yet [in this] I will be confident.
4 One thing have I asked of the Lord,
that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
and to inquire [meditate] in his temple.
5 For he will hide me in his shelter
in the day of trouble;
he will conceal me under the cover of his tent;
he will lift me high upon a rock.
in the day of trouble;
he will conceal me under the cover of his tent;
he will lift me high upon a rock.
6 And now my head shall be lifted up
above my enemies all around me,
and I will offer in his tent
sacrifices with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make melody to the Lord.
above my enemies all around me,
and I will offer in his tent
sacrifices with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make melody to the Lord.
7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud;
be gracious to me and answer me!
8 You have said, “Seek [plural for seek] my face.”
My heart says to you,
“Your face, Lord, do I seek.”
9 Hide not your face from me.
Turn not your servant away in anger,
O you who have been my help.
Cast me not off; forsake me not,
O God of my salvation!
10 For my father and my mother have forsaken me,
but the Lord will take me in.
be gracious to me and answer me!

11 Teach me your way, O Lord,
and lead me on a level path
because of my enemies.
12 Give me not up to the will of my adversaries;
for false witnesses have risen against me,
and they breathe out violence.
and lead me on a level path
because of my enemies.
12 Give me not up to the will of my adversaries;

Trouble always sounds like danger.
During our years we attended the Catholic Church, we prayed against the glamor of sin. I don't personally have a threshold for sin as glamor. Any more than I'd ever want to do drugs or become an alcoholic. I would say the trouble in my life is having times when boredom is pervasive. Perhaps I will always miss college. If you are bored in college, there is always someone nearby to popcorn with at 2 a.m. or go to IHOP or anything else you can think of.
Loneliness is a danger. It has been discussed at our house as being surrounded by people and feeling cut off. It has been discussed as the phone not ringing. It is caused by trying to please people who can't be pleased. It is caused by being someone who can't be pleased.
I've read articles of the rich and famous saying flying to Paris to attending an amazing event can be dull and lifeless.

It has to be me, me, me. And it has to do with being part of team. Family. At some point we all have to say, LORD, it isn't all about me. I don't believe in suffering without speaking up. I don't believe in relentlessly beating the same old problem. And yet. Some days are about being brave and enduring.
Abba,
Today, I have a prayer request for our air conditioner and seeing old friends this next week. Recovering from this headache, sinus and tiredness.
Blessed to pray as all people around the world lift up prayers in the Name of Jesus
Matthew 5:16
Let your light shine before others
give Glory to our Father in Heaven

We believe as we put out our hands, You, Father God knows what we need and we will see goodness in the land of the living. And as we put out our hands we believe and saying to You, Father God, here I am - send me.
Help us to be a loving heart when the time comes and not the cold heart of the perpetually introspective. Here is this path Father God, help to walk it in joy and hope. Help our adversaries not to be our pride, our unwillingness to put ourselves out in ways that really would please You. And our willingness to stay on a level path that isn't the level path You'd have for us.
Help us to have the wisdom when to speak up, the Holy Spirit within us to be a positive force, and joy to remain in silence learning gratitude. Give us courage to be change and patience to be loving. Help us to truly nourish the people You have given in our lives.

Romans 12:9
Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
Luke 18:38-43
And he cried out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 39 And those who were in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 40 And Jesus stopped and commanded him to be brought to him. And when he came near, he asked him, 41 “What do you want me to do for you?” He said, “Lord, let me recover my sight.” 42 And Jesus said to him, “Recover your sight; your faith has made you well.” 43 And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.
2 Corinthians 8:8
I say this not as a command, but to prove by the earnestness of others that your love also is genuine.
Hebrews 10:23-25
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering,
for he who promised is faithful.
24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another,
and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
