Psalm 30
A Psalm of David. A song at the dedication of the temple.
I will extol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up
and have not let my foes rejoice over me.
2 O Lord my God, I cried to you for help,
and you have healed me.
3 O Lord, you have brought up my soul from Sheol;
you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit.
4 Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints,
and give thanks to his holy name
5 For his anger is but for a moment,
and his favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may tarry for the night,
but joy comes with the morning.
6 As for me, I said in my prosperity,
“I shall never be moved.”
7 By your favor, O Lord,
you made my mountain stand strong;
you hid your face;
I was dismayed.
8 To you, O Lord, I cry,
and to the Lord I plead for mercy:
9 “What profit is there in my death,
if I go down to the pit?
Will the dust praise you?
Will it tell of your faithfulness?
10 Hear, O Lord, and be merciful to me!
O Lord, be my helper!”
11 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
you have loosed my sackcloth
and clothed me with gladness,
12 that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!
So much of our conversations are non-verbal. When we think of Moses, a lot of what we think of is a stern leader dealing with circumstances no one could lead.
When we think of David, don't we think of a million faces?
Boy
Anointed
Saving the flock from lions
Quickly leaving Saul and abandoned by his first wife
Living with criminals and malcontents. Serious small warmongering.
Moses lived to be 120. Joshua lived to be 110. David lived to be about 60. Not bad in the Iron Age, but not the age of Moses and Aaron. Moses had stress. Stress with a capital S actually. David did too.
Being King had difficulties

Not a Bad Psalm for a Post Mortem
Not a Bad Psalm for a Post Mortem
Kings and Emperors face aging sometimes with a serious lack of enthusiasm. In fact, many famous monarchs looked at aging as something horrid. Elizabeth I, historians discovered, was faster and looser in her after child bearing possible years. Putting those closest to her in a tail spin. Guilt. Mourning of the icon. Increase of intrigues. Robert Devereux, 2nd Earl of Essex was executed for overstepping.
Louis XIV was known to mourn Versailles for being so elderly.
Psalm 30 is David. He has not lived to be old in Biblical years. His family has suffered him. He has had rape and he has had revolt in his family. And not during his youthful years. David saw extreme civil unrest.
There is very good reason to ask... What Has Drawn David Up? What keeps him going!
David writes Psalm 30 for an occasion. The Dedication of the Temple. David is not going to be alive to see the Temple Dedicated. David will be sleeping with his fathers by the time the Dedication is being Sung as Psalm 30. David has written for the future.
You have turned for me my mourning into dancing
David has built the future. All our movies about the future show The Black Plague meets Technology. Slums of interesting gadgets. It's a very current theme of futuristic movies. Dire future. David isn't believing it. David is believing the future is in the Hands of God. David has taken his misfortunes and believed God was doing the Work of God. David has sought to find purpose in the downfalls leading to the Mercy of God.
It's said, you have everything if you have your health. David was not healthy. This Psalm isn't necessarily written when all was rosy. The Bible tends to move on with, "he slept with his fathers" quickly. David had a prolonged period with heart failure. And we find he persisted with plans for those he hoped to move forward in God's Plans.
David's Happiness was more of a Planned Happiness in seeing Gratitude with the ups and downs of life. Gladness.

Romans 8:28
And we know that for those who love God all things work together,
interweaving, for good,
for those who are called according to His Purpose.
And this calls for diligent searching and faith. A desire to get back on one's feet. Introspection. Hindsight to see the Blessings.
David is a king God invited to be in His Family. And in his struggles, we can find the Optimism of God about His Plans. Jeremiah says God gives all of us a Hope and Future.
David didn't just count on the future. David rejoiced in the good fortune of God's Legacy. David rejoiced in the good fortune of his people. David was glad for the blessings of God to happen around him. David counted on the future to be filled with the Goodness of God.
Gladness. Happiness. Does God want us to have happiness? David found happiness for others.
When our lives have times of trouble and misfortune, we are lifted up by the good news for others. Finding Blessings come to us all. Counting Blessings has a higher count when we count the Blessings of others. David knew so many circumstances in his life and he found Gratitude to be the face of Happiness.
And in doing this with Faith, Hope and Love we can put Joy, the Joy of the Lord is our Strength in every day.

Abba,
How did David pray? The New Testament tells us when we put our hearts to You, The Holy Spirit will pray for us. We can simply put our hearts to You. Proverbs 8. You find delight in the hearts of mankind. Placing Jesus as the Light of mankind.

In the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
It's an interesting theory. God called the Kingdom of Heaven like a large tree. We all know earthquakes are from plates deep within the earth, but it's a theory. Living in the Pine Forest from Texas to Florida and living in an area preserving trees - this caught my imagination.
Buildings in the future could be isolated from earthquakes by being placed behind rows of trees. That’s according to physicists in France, who have shown that certain seismic waves, known as Love waves, could be diverted away from the Earth’s surface as they pass through a forest containing trees of a certain height. The forest acts like a metamaterial – an artificial structure usually used to steer electromagnetic radiation around objects. Physics World.
