How will we pray more effectively. Not just for answers, but for peace when all that surrounds you is in woes.
Where we place Jesus in prayer is Important.
We pray our Father in Heaven, to remind us God is Abba - vastly loving. Father. Better than an earthly, biological Father. To remind us, hold God closely.
And we can pray to meditate and find Jesus warm in our soul, mind and heart.
Find the Road to Emmaus.
Matthew 3
13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him. 14 John would have prevented him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?” 15 But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.”
Jesus will fill us with His Righteousness. And the time to meditate or pray or search the Scriptures is good.
Father God isn't merely staying in Heaven.
17 and behold, Father God's voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
Matthew 4
4 Not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
On their hands they will bear you up
23 And he went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people
Matthew 5
13 “You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored?"
God expects real words from us.
Matthew 6
pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
33 Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Matthew 8
3 And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I will; be clean.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
13 And to the centurion Jesus said, “Go; let it be done for you as you have believed.” And the servant was healed at that very moment.
17 “He took our illnesses and bore our diseases.”
These are phrases to hold to your heart as you pray.
26 Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.
Matthew 9
“Take heart, my son; your sins are forgiven.”
36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
9 Jesus said to him, “Follow me.” And he rose and followed him.
“My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.”
19 And Jesus rose and followed him,
with his disciples.
22 “Take heart, daughter;
your faith has made you well.”
29 Then he touched their eyes,
saying, “According to your faith be it done to you.” 30 And their eyes were opened.
Give us the Day!
Matthew 10
13 And if the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.
When we are blue, sad, and we pray The Lord's Prayer. God will enable Joy, or we will work through what is difficult. One or the other. Thy Will be Done.
God has told us to ask for wisdom! Do we need further invitation?
The Strength of Joy.
Ecclesiastes says life has seasons. Seasons of turn the other cheek, let it go. Seasons of turn the rear around and move away. Do not give what is holy to pigs, they will turn, trample the pearls and attack you. Love our enemies, pray for them. The Joy of the Lord is our Strength. And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town. The Strength of Joy.
To give ministry is to Trust God to be, "The One."
How will we sort this out?
With all the time God has given the Prodigal Son. Patience and endurance. Putting God First and seeking to see His Kingdom gives life salt and flavor. The Strength of Joy. We can place problems with God and move on. We can pray for the impossible and Find God Did and Does the Impossible.
The Strength of Joy.
The Joy of the Lord is our Strength. To be a Blessing, to give a Blessing, to fully Live the Blessing. Is in fact, work. Endurance. Being tenacious. And just stubborn. Be salty, my friends. Be honest. And work again. The work God Himself gives us - work - is to Believe.
Scriptures do not have a lot of loving brothers. We have James and John. Eventually the Brothers of Jesus Christ. Timothy and Paul are adopted brothers, and so are Mark and Peter.
Life gives us the Words of God in a particular order. Usually, this would be something to move over swiftly - this year has been so harsh - it's a teachable moment, to tell of the harshness life gives us to overcome.
Matthew 10
do not be anxious
how you are to speak or what you are to say,
for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour.
We don't plan for what we will say in times of great hurt. We don't count on being hurt. We plan for a Hope and Future. (Sometimes, with the grit God Himself gives us.)
20 For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
Could any other reason be more valid?
21 Brother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death, 22 and you will be hated by all for my name's sake.
But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
23 When they persecute you in one town, flee to the next
God has apples of gold in silver Baskets. If God can tell you to flee to the next - - - you have to see the Hope right around the corner.
And all we found was a small portion of Matthew!
John 21
25 Now there are also many other things that Jesus did.
Were every one of them to be written,
I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.
Abba, When the Winds and Woes of Life Howl, carry us Close to You.
We will be saying the Lord's Prayer. And seeing Heaven on earth.
Praying for those we Love. In Jesus. Amen.
