Jeremiah 33:1-3
The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah
a second time,
while he was still shut up in the court of the guard
“Thus says the Lord who made the earth, the Lord who formed it to establish it—the Lord is his name:
Call to Me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known."
We will walk by faith. And then the Lord begins to reveal clues, many found in this century, to shine a light on the path of walking by faith. Was Jeremiah saved? Most people would certainly and deeply want to know. What clues will we find?
Jeremiah's story is one I particularly feel great admiration, interest and deep respect for the historic and turbulent time Jeremiah carried this weight with the Living God. So incredibly recorded by the Word of God and the Babylonian Chaldean Empire of Nebuchadnezzar II.
We all raise our hands and hearts, Jeremiah, Servant of the Lord, to remain in God's Promises of safety and comfort. Thrive Jeremiah, thrive.
Jeremiah did very much, indeed, did see great and hidden things, he did not know. And he said, "Oh, Lord, no, thank You, but I am just too young to do this."
Not what we would want broadcast on our lives or resume.
God tends to show us, all the people of the Bible say words - have emotions, tremendous upset, rudeness, laziness, selfishness, and attitudes they prefer the Lord not to show. The Mother of God told Jesus to get home immediately, He looked crazy, ill. And she lost Him, on several occasions, on various levels. Jesus even refused to bless Mary for feeding Him as an infant and saving His Unborn self. Saying, Blessed instead are those doing the Word of God. When Mary told, all the world, she would be blessed, she might not have realized The Lord meant shown as an actual, errant, frail, foolish and selfish human being with great bravery and warmth. Mary shows us, the Shepherds went home. The birth in a barn, no real invitation to warmth. Even Christmas, for this Amazingly Blessed Event, had discomfort.
Mary is the chosen Mother of God and, probably, is the one, having saved Jesus' life more than twice and going the entire distance - Mary, most likely, is the one who sits at the Right Hand of Jesus Christ in Heaven. And God has shown her to be flawed and needing Jesus for Salvation. We are worthy to be loved, in His Heart and His Steadfast Love.
No human being will be the golden example of God. Do not look to humans to be saved.
Salvation is the work of God.
The Gift of Salvation is His redeeming and forgiving Grace. Moses did not enter the goal of the Exodus. Because this was a work of the Lord's. St. Jerome was never the Pope. John, The Beloved Disciple, his life wasn't considered to be Vatican. David did not wear a Halo. Evah. Mary, had a marriage, a husband and children. And Mary's twice reported, stellar and seamless family in the Gospels, did not follow Jesus or carry signs saying, "Good Job, Jesus." Or even wait beside the lines of people with a glass of water.
Discomfort.
Where was Baruch's Bulla found?
In the stone prison pit, in David's Palace
dropped into Jeremiah's time in the Court of the Guard.
A stone hole in the ground.
Reminds us of ? !
To find Greater Joy and Comfort.
In the Realm of God,
Forever unto Eternity.
I will answer you,
and will tell you great and hidden things
that you have not known.
Jeremiah 1
18 And I, behold, I make you this day a fortified city,
an iron pillar, and bronze walls,
against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests, and the people of the land. 19 They will fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you, for I am with you, declares the Lord, to deliver you.
What did Jeremiah think of God's Offer?
Metal was not a product of Judea. A product of the U.K. during the Bronze Age. Not many metal Pillars. Not a building material. Which was probably a point the Lord was making, about sinking or building. Not how we would want our lives to be explained, as our goal.
Jeremiah 30:10
'Fear not,
O Jacob My servant,'
Declares the LORD,
'And do not be dismayed, O Israel;
For behold,
I will save you from afar
And your offspring from the land of their captivity.
And Jacob will return
and will be quiet and at ease,
And no one will make him afraid.
11'For I am with you,'
Declares the LORD,
'to save you
For I will destroy completely all the nations
where I have scattered you
Only I
will not destroy you completely.
But I will chasten you justly
And will by no means leave you unpunished.'
The Remnant
Jeremiah is shown to have been writing to the Judean captives, Nebuchadnezzar had proclaimed them not to be called slaves, not captives, but exiles. Emperor Nebuchadnezzar II hoped to learn from the ways of God and bring them to the Babylonian Chaldean Empire. Jeremiah 25 is encoded to hide Babylon from those not entirely familiar with the Ascending Hebrew Alphabet. To Rise Up To The Lord.
And Jeremiah 29 discusses with the exiles their problems and struggles living in captivity. Jeremiah was in Jerusalem.
Jeremiah 39
17 But I will deliver you on that day,
Declares the Lord
And you shall not be given
into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid.
I discussed Jeremiah one day with a friend of ours, who has been to Seminary. And he said, this is one of the mysteries of the Word of God. What happened to Jeremiah? According to the Word of God, He leaves Jeremiah being hauled off, against his will, to see what the ancient Egyptian enemy of Israel and Judea, will do with the remnants. And it's an unwise, regrettable, extreme and foolish idea to travel to do this, but he is taken by force to Egypt. By the people who are arrogant to have ignored Jeremiah for years, but suddenly feel that Jeremiah should live or die with them. Not a congenial invitation. And this is where the Word of God's Holy Spirit concludes the life of Jeremiah.
History, of course, continues. And what is history? The victors write history, yes, but. And then you find the Ipuwur, of Ancient Days, explaining the Exodus from the view point of the everyday journalist explaining fear and politics. Not ever hoping for the Pharaoh to return. That Pharaoh had no plan, whatsoever, about frogs, blood of the Nile, Hurricanes that are a pillar of fire. Letting the servants/slaves go with expensive gifts from their masters. Plague. Hail on fire, killing all the crops and livestock. Surely, if man had a plan for the Hand of God's Plan. The utter and complete devastation of the known world. The end of water, food, health, weather, crops, livestock, enslaved population carried off by the weirdest weather ever known. Flaming hail from the sky. And what happens? The army is utterly taken, but in rolls the Pharaoh as the last survivor. And you find this in the tomb of Setti II. Who was not quite the victor. And history records what it was like to have grown up with Mose. Mosie. Moses. (Bob. Bobbie. Salt Papyrus 124)
The Papyrus discussing Moses.

What would David and Michelangelo say to the word, "cartoon."
The judgement of men. Who write explanations about the "cartoons" of Michelangelo, Raphael, Bernini. Can this even be fathomed? This new term of 'cartoon'. As if this isn't cynical and sinister. No, of course not a judgmental word, spit it out ....."cartoon."
18 For I will surely save you,
and you shall not fall by the sword,
but you shall have your life as a prize of war,
because you have put your trust in me,
Declares the Lord.
When the Babylonian Captivity was released, we discovered in the 1960s, the remnant God specifically promised, left the DNA of the Tribes. As much DNA as found today of the tribes of Israel. The Remnant left in Jerusalem after the 3 raids of Nebuchadnezzar II carrying off Judah, was not total. People lived and worshiped, in the remains of Jerusalem. Fulfilling His Word.
What these people survived!
And then you have to ask yourself why would God end the story of Jeremiah doing a work of God
That museums used to hope to glimpse and endlessly discuss how to see? And possibly take from the country of origin? And, then acquire to own. Then decades, later, label as cartoons? Or hide in a library hidden from view.
So you have to ask yourself ..... Why would God end the story of Jeremiah doing a work of God and taken to Egypt.
Back to the comparison we gave of Mary.
Mary is pregnant, taken on a life ending, probably, donkey ride of 80 miles to Bethlehem to give birth, where women end their lives in childbirth, into a stable. And she endures the waiting to see if Joseph will divorce their betrothal and she will be stoned to death. And then the Shepherds arrive to tell her, no, really, they saw the Angels too.
Smile. So you are a Jewish, girl, teenager, who made the best marriage possible.
You are the poor, side of the descendants of David. Who has been taken to enough gatherings as a descendant of David to see the lofty disdain of the ultra king, king, king, king 14 generations of Davidic kings' nobility. And your father's name is ... Heli. The "hell of I"? Remember, this IS the Bible and names are important! Heli succeeded in linking his daughter and his lineage back to the king side of the Davidic Line. And Mary knows, time to get out of Nazareth fast, "with great haste" and visit Elizabeth. 'Dad, today I saw an Angel and he said, I'm pregnant.' And that ends ....the building Joseph has been doing on the family house. Yes, you bet, the building stops. And Mary "leaves with haste" to visit the more understanding family. And then, no marriage, to the hugely Pregnant Mary, just 'a good luck on that donkey, hussy. ' And the barn first birth. Yeah, good luck. Hussy.
Wouldn't you? Wouldn't you sit in wonder on that Stable in Bethlehem with blood, umbilical cord, straw. Animals and what they drop on the floor. Feed, and the critters who want to eat the animal feed. Possibly, a barn cat and all the cat equipment. And sitting next to Joseph, who probably got you out of Nazareth - to save your life from Heli, good reason. And Joseph says, says, says he believes you, but there has not been a marriage ceremony. Did I see Gabriel? Wow, that's a lot of blood on the floor. What's going to happen next?
And you... the Jewish girl... sitting next to Heli's ideal marriage catch. With this Baby, called Jesus. And, thankfully, Shepherds rush in to confirm - yes - Angels are Announcing. And Mary pondered these things in her heart. Yes. Thank You, Lord God. Thank You, Jesus. A fair and realistic response to - what in the world - just happened.
Exodus. The Exodus of Mary's life, Mary's entire LIFE, when Jesus is born.
What would Mary say to us at this precipice? Wouldn't she have trepidation? Her soul would be vastly blessed and vastly hormonal and vastly troubled? Thank God for the Shepherds confirming her vision.
Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him. “Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But for this purpose I have come to this hour. 28 Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”
The crowd that stood there and heard it said that it had thundered.
Others said, “An angel has spoken to him.”
The Voice of Scripture isn't just the man writing down ideas.
There is far more going on even in the lack of punctuation.
What happened to Jeremiah?
“I've read the last page of the Bible, it's all going to turn out all right.”
― Billy Graham
History of the Jews, not Scripture, provides the information the delegation arrived at the gates of the Great Hall of Egyptian Governing. And as they waited on the steps, like the Vatican being struck by lightning, an earthquake struck the delegation and many were killed. No list of names is provided, we can be quite sure. Not even Nebo-Sarsekim, who rescued Jeremiah during Nebuchadnezzar II's war invasion of Jerusalem. Jeremiah 39:3. And in the Babylonian
Cuneiform.
History does not tell us Jeremiah perished in Egypt!
Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please him,
for whoever would draw near to God
must believe that He exists
and
that He rewards those who seek Him.
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for,
the conviction of things not seen.
Mark 11:22-24
And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God.
Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain,
‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’
and does not doubt in his heart,
but believes that what He says will come to pass,
it will be done for him.
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer,
believe that you have received it,
and it will be yours.
2 Corinthians 5:7
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Luke 1:37
For nothing will be impossible with God.
What happened to Jeremiah?
Hebrews 6:18
God cannot lie when He makes a promise,
and He cannot lie when he makes an oath.
Hebrews 6
17 So when God desired to show more convincingly
to the heirs of the promise
the unchangeable character
of His purpose,
He guaranteed it with an oath,
18 so that by two unchangeable things,
in which it is
impossible
for God to lie,
we who have fled for refuge
might have strong encouragement
to hold fast
to the hope

us.

Jeremiah 46
27 “But fear not, O Jacob my servant,
nor be dismayed, O Israel;

Jacob shall return and have quiet and ease,
and none shall make him afraid.

The House of the Lord
is where You dwell.
Both the Church and the soul
asking Jesus Christ to dwell.
The Psalm 122
is for Israel
and for Jeremiah
and for you
and for me
in Jesus Christ.
To Believe in our heart
and declare
Jesus is the Lord.
I was glad when they said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the Lord!”
Our feet have been standing
within your gates,
O Jerusalem!
Jerusalem—built as a city
that is bound firmly together,
to which the tribes go
up,
the tribes of the Lord,
as was decreed for Israel
To give thanks
To the Name of the Lord.
There thrones for judgment were set,
the thrones of the house of David.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
“May they be secure who love you!
Peace be within your walls
and
security within your towers!
For my brothers and companions' sake
I will say, “Peace be within you!”
For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
I will seek your good.
The Lord,
The Lord
The Lord!!!
A God merciful and gracious,
slow to anger,
and Abounding
in steadfast love and faithfulness,
keeping steadfast love for thousands,
forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin,
but who will by no means clear the guilty.
He Likes us,
He Really, Really Likes us
Like Sally Field, in the 4th Row.
Thank You, Father,
Dwell in me,
Dwell in those I love and fill them with Your Love and
Hope and Glory.
All Your Promises.
Help us to Seek You First.
We pray strongly and diligently for the child in Wilmer, Texas,
the child abduction,
the 10-year-old boy
to be returned
unharmed to his family.
Let Psalm 122 be theirs.
And in Jesus Christ, we will finish well.
Please Lord,
I want to stop coughing now
and run on Joy.
The Lord
The Lord
