Psalm 27 ~ Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud; be gracious to me and answer me!

Psalm 27

The Lord is my light and my salvation;
     whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold [refuge] of my life;

    of whom shall I be afraid?
When evildoers assail me
    to eat up my flesh,
my adversaries and foes,
    it is they who stumble and fall.

Though an army encamp against me,
    my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
    yet [in this] I will be confident.

One thing have I asked of the Lord,
    that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
    all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
    and to inquire [meditate] in his temple.

For he will hide me in his shelter
    in the day of trouble;
he will conceal me under the cover of his tent;
    he will lift me high upon a rock.

And now my head shall be lifted up
    above my enemies all around me,
and I will offer in his tent
    sacrifices with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make melody to the Lord.

Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud;
    be gracious to me and answer me!
You have said, “Seek [plural for seek] my face.”
My heart says to you,
    “Your face, Lord, do I seek.”

     Hide not your face from me.
Turn not your servant away in anger,
    O you who have been my help.
Cast me not off; forsake me not,
     O God of my salvation!
10 For my father and my mother have forsaken me,
    but the Lord will take me in.

11  Teach me your way, O Lord,
    and lead me on a level path
    because of my enemies.
12  Give me not up to the will of my adversaries;
    for false witnesses have risen against me,
    and they breathe out violence.

13 I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord
    in the land of the living!
14  Wait for the Lord;
     be strong, and let your heart take courage;
    wait for the Lord!

Trouble always sounds like danger.
During our years we attended the Catholic Church, we prayed against the glamor of sin. I don't personally have a threshold for sin as glamor. Any more than I'd ever want to do drugs or become an alcoholic. I would say the trouble in my life is having times when boredom is pervasive. Perhaps I will always miss college. If you are bored in college, there is always someone nearby to popcorn with at 2 a.m. or go to IHOP or anything else you can think of.

Loneliness is a danger. It has been discussed at our house as being surrounded by people and feeling cut off. It has been discussed as the phone not ringing. It is caused by trying to please people who can't be pleased. It is caused by being someone who can't be pleased.

I've read articles of the rich and famous saying flying to Paris to attending an amazing event can be dull and lifeless.

It has to be me, me, me.  And it has to do with being part of team. Family. At some point we all have to say, LORD, it isn't all about me. I don't believe in suffering without speaking up. I don't believe in relentlessly beating the same old problem. And yet. Some days are about being brave and enduring.

Blessed to pray as all people around the world lift up prayers in the Name of Jesus

Matthew 5:16
Let your light shine before others
give Glory to our Father in Heaven

Abba,

Today, I have a prayer request for our air conditioner and seeing old friends this next week. Recovering from this headache, sinus and tiredness.

We believe as we put out our hands, You, Father God knows what we need and we will see goodness in the land of the living.  And as we put out our hands we believe and saying to You, Father God, here I am - send me.

Help us to be a loving heart when the time comes and not the cold heart of the perpetually introspective. Here is this path Father God, help to walk it in joy and hope. Help our adversaries not to be our pride, our unwillingness to put ourselves out in ways that really would please You. And our willingness to stay on a level path that isn't the level path You'd have for us.

Help us to have the wisdom when to speak up, the Holy Spirit within us to be a positive force, and joy to remain in silence learning gratitude. Give us courage to be change and patience to be loving.  Help us to truly nourish the people You have given in our lives.

In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen

 Romans 12:9
Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.

Luke 18:38-43
And he cried out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 39 And those who were in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 40 And Jesus stopped and commanded him to be brought to him. And when he came near, he asked him, 41 “What do you want me to do for you?” He said, “Lord, let me recover my sight.” 42 And Jesus said to him, “Recover your sight; your faith has made you well.” 43 And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.

2 Corinthians 8:8
I say this not as a command, but to prove by the earnestness of others that your love also is genuine.

Hebrews 10:23-25
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering,
for he who promised is faithful.

24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another,
and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Psalm 41 ~ Blessed is the one

Psalm 41

A Psalm of David.

Blessed is the one who considers the poor!
In the day of trouble the Lord delivers him;
2 the Lord protects him and keeps him alive;
he is called blessed in the land;
you do not give him up to the will of his enemies.

3 The Lord sustains him on his sickbed;
in his illness you restore him to full health.

4 As for me, I said, “O Lord, be gracious to me;
heal me, for I have sinned against you!”
5 My enemies say of me in malice,
“When will he die, and his name perish?”
6 And when one comes to see me, he utters empty words,
while his heart gathers iniquity;
when he goes out, he tells it abroad.
7 All who hate me whisper together about me;
they imagine the worst for me.

8 They say, “A deadly thing is poured out on him;
he will not rise again from where he lies.”
9 Even my close friend in whom I trusted,
who ate my bread, has lifted his heel against me.
10 But you, O Lord, be gracious to me,
and raise me up, that I may repay them!

11 By this I know that you delight in me:
my enemy will not shout in triumph over me.
12 But you have upheld me because of my integrity,
and set me in your presence forever.

13 Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting!
Amen and Amen.

When God hold us, David and then Solomon's, Temple would not be able to hold even God's Robe, He meant this kindly. So Kindly as Solomon opened the Temple with prayer and Priests, The Temple filled with a cloud we could see in Hubble Telescopes.

History barely holds His Robe as well. The Messiah was occurring all over Israel. Isaiah told us Nations would arrive at His Brightness and we find the Magi arrive. Wise Men seeking Jesus.

We find as the Gospels open ~
Jesus is consecrated to God in His Holy Temple. We meet Simeon and Anna proclaiming the Holy Spirit. The Essenes began leaving the Temple during and before the Life of Jesus. The Dead Sea Scrolls are from the Essenes and are from the last 3rd Centuries B.C. and the first Century A.D. The Essenes said over and over life was coming to an end in Israel soon. When Herod wanted to pick the priests and marry his living brother's wife, the Essenes were out of the Temple. Proclaiming it defunct of the Holy Spirit. Now, Jesus, disagreed and Jesus taught many times in the Temple. But the Essenes were right on some levels. Israel/Judea/suburb of Syria in the eyes of the Roman Empire was destroyed in 70 A.D., when the natural life of Jesus would have ended. Father God was not going to make null and void the life and healing ministry of Jesus Christ and His eternal forgiveness on His Cross.

We know about Hanukkah and the Davidic Line, how did we end up with the Hanukkah miracle being so very celebrated and the Herods?

Hasmonean was the family name of the rebel leader and priest, Mattathias, who began to throw off Seleucid rule. Upon his death his sons continued the rebellion and were eventually successful in gaining Jewish autonomy under the Seleucids and then, with the disintegration of the Seleucid Empire, full Jewish independence. Simon (brother of Judah Maccabee and son of Mattathias) was the first Hasmonean ruler of an autonomous state. The Hasmoneans are also called Asmoneans. The name Hasmonean comes from the Hebrew word chashman (“wealthy”). According to Josephus, a priest named Chashman, from the family of Jehoiarib (cf. 1 Chronicles 24:7), was the ancestor of the Hasmoneans. Their history is found in the works of Josephus and the apocryphal books of 1 and 2 Maccabees.

Hanukkah is the miracle of 'Light' allowing Simon (brother of Judah Maccabee and son of Mattathias) to be able to withstand Seleucids who wanted to sacrifice to Zeus in "The Temple". The Victory was miraculous. It was truly pretty near perfect the call to beat plowshares into weapons.

Under Hasmonean rule, the kingdom expanded its borders, covering an area almost as large as the nation had under King Solomon. John Hyrcanus captured Transjordan, Galilee, Samaria and Idumea (Edom). His son Aristobulus I was the high priest and the first Hasmonean to take the title “king.” However, political intrigue and infighting followed, and finally civil war erupted.

The Hasmonean dynasty lasted about 80 years from about 140 to 63 BC.

 Herod's Jerusalem Palace, then and now

The Herods married in. And were found to be extremely violent.
The Herods, Roman Educated and of Samaritan (3 Tribes of Jacob surviving the Babylonian Capture - the Remnant) descent and related to Cleopatra and Arsinoƫ IV (her DNA was recently discovered) when her sister then exiled to the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus in Roman Anatolia, but she was executed there by orders of triumvir Mark Antony in 41 BC at the behest of Cleopatra.

 Herod created the atmosphere Essenes wanted to escape. Herod named Caesarea as he ran his brown nose campaign.

We are truly a world always having the Trouble Jesus said we would have - echoing and relating all over the Globe, even before the Bronze Age.

Cave Four of the Dead Sea Scrolls is famous for being the most photographed. The contents are not as famous because they are from the Hasmonean era.

The Signs of the Messiah: 4Q521

These dry, obscure pieces of Papyrus are the Essenes (*Correctly predicting their own deaths in 70 AD) recording history they were deathly afraid would be lost forever. The History of the amazing recovery from destruction of the Second Temple by Nebuchadnezzar II. This is The Remnant God Promised.

Gutenberg Psalm

How does our Psalm 41 relate to the Dead Sea Scrolls?

[the hea]vens and the earth will listen to His Messiah ["anointed one"], and none therein will stray from the commandments of the holy ones.

Seekers of the Lord, strengthen yourselves in His service!
All you hopeful in (your) heart, will you not find the Lord in this?

For the Lord will consider the pious (hasidim) and call the righteous by name.

Over the poor His spirit will hover and will renew the faithful with His power.

And He will glorify the pious on the throne of the eternal Kingdom.
He who liberates the captives, restores sight to the blind, straightens the b[ent]
And f[or] ever I will cleav[ve to the h]opeful and in His mercy...
And the fr[uit...] will not be delayed for anyone.
And the Lord will accomplish glorious things which have never been as [He...]
For He will heal the wounded, and revive the dead and bring good news to the poor

Psalm 41

Blessed is the one who considers the poor!

Not give him up to the will of his enemies.

sustains him on his sickbed;

restore him to full health.

die, and his name perish?

Slander

Even my close friend in whom I trusted
my enemy will not shout in triumph over me.

The Lord has a very different view of Poverty. Illness, war, enmity, slander, emotional hurt.
Struck down and not destroyed.

Israel.

2 Corinthians 12:19

It is in the sight of God that we have been speaking in Christ, and all for your upbuilding, beloved.

Romans 15:4-13

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.

5 May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, 6 so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Abba,
We ask Your blessing upon ourselves, the ones we Love, the people You have given us. This Nation. Peace for all.

Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

2 Corinthians 4:16
So we do not lose heart

Our Amen is in Jesus.

Psalm 101 ~ I will sing of steadfast love and justice; to you, O Lord, I will make music +

Watchtowers in Israel were far from unusual. A safe haven and a storage facility of daily life.

Psalm 101

A Psalm of David.

I will sing of steadfast love and justice;
to you, O Lord, I will make music.

2 I will ponder the way that is blameless.
Oh when will you come to me?
I will walk with integrity of heart
within my house;
3 I will not set before my eyes
anything that is worthless.
I hate the work of those who fall away;
it shall not cling to me.
4 A perverse heart shall be far from me;
I will know nothing of evil.

5 Whoever slanders his neighbor secretly
I will destroy.

Whoever has a haughty look and an arrogant heart
I will not endure.

6 I will look with favor on the faithful in the land,
that they may dwell with me;
he who walks in the way that is blameless
shall minister to me.

7 No one who practices deceit
shall dwell in my house;
no one who utters lies
shall continue before my eyes.

8 Morning by morning I will destroy
all the wicked in the land,
cutting off all the evildoers
from the city of the Lord.

Jesus tells us to be Living Stones.
Consider ~ we are built to be part of Every Word of God
in His Promises
including ancient watchtowers
and the living stones of the Universe.
We ask Jesus to be part of All of His Goodness.
His Word Upholds the Universe.

What was David speaking of? David? David surely did not, in fact, build His Temple. David was 'only' allowed to be the Father of the Line of Jesus Christ. A rather unusual mix.

There is one in this Life who is Good. Jesus Christ, Son of God.

Dealing with evil can become intensive. We head into Horror movies for October. I don't like horror movies. The primary problem with dealing with evil is the backlash. In the 1990s, there was an increase in Wiccan philosophy. The use of geological stones to promote wellness, healing etc. The problem with worship of nature, is that in Romans 1, we find we worship the creature and not the Creator. We might take an aspirin for a headache, but we are not going to believe it will protect us forever. I sat nearby with my family and we heard someone go into intense detail about the nature of gemstones protecting us. But we don't believe one Aspirin is going to be the be all and end all... The other problem with Wiccan, it can begin beautifully, but as in the conversation near us - it evolves into dead rats and prayers of harm.

And in the 1990s, one woman began to channel the dead. Her voice would change and she would bring forth the dead to speak. Until Saturday Night Live made the point she weighed 300 pounds and maybe she had eaten the people she was bringing forth???

Colorized vintage black and white photo of Capernaum - Hometown of Jesus Christ c. 1800

We long to find a safe haven.
 And we can be assured Jesus is this for us. When Jabez was blessed, part of the blessing of and from Father God was to take away pain. We would all like something to take pain from us. Jabez was given the Gift to not have the usual pain in life. For being faithful. When we believe God is for us, we are not so easily hurt. When we experience pain we have to sort out the pain. Is God telling us to learn from the experience? To teach others about our experience? To attain something higher? To do away with the merely trivial. To not be injured by the trouble Jesus assures us is part of life. To hold to God in wonder - Jesus will take pain, trouble, discomfort and find a place for Goodness to Rise.

Luke 10

17 The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!”

18 And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.

20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

Behold.
God's is saying something Important is Happening.

Jesus Triumphs. Evil is defeated. Jabez type Blessings to flee from pain. The source of passing and inconsequential upset is not where we will dwell. God has the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory.

We do not sit and examine evil. Not to delight in harm. Rejoice in His Goodness.

Psalm 101 is a mystery. Profound - a mercenary, warrior, saint, king would proclaim himself to fight sin. And the Temple he prepared for all of his life contained the clouds and mystery of Heavenly Hosts as the Temple opened.

1 Timothy 3:16

Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness:

He was manifested in the flesh,
vindicated by the Spirit,
seen by angels,
proclaimed among the nations,
believed on in the world,
taken up in glory.

Behold.
Psalm 101 is an explanation of the Need for Jesus Christ. His Life gave us the Gift of Eternal Life. The place of the dead became Heaven. Jesus gave us a new Heaven and a new earth. Jesus gave us the hope and the optimism to pray for more of Heaven on earth in His Good Will.

After Father God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit delighted looking within mankind, Jesus said He would not break a bruised reed. Jesus was kind to the Sanhedrin Counsel. Jesus held lepers. Jesus gave a new Commandment to Love One Another.

Glory
Mark 10:32
Jesus was walking ahead of them.
The disciples were filled with awe.

Psalm 101 is something only God Himself can attain. Psalm 101 is God's Kingdom.

Psalm 110 ~ He will lift up His Head

Not the Plan Gideon had planned upon

Psalm 110

A Psalm of David.

110 The Lord says to my Lord:
“Sit at my right hand,
until I make your enemies your footstool.”

2 The Lord sends forth from Zion
your mighty scepter.
Rule in the midst of your enemies!
3 Your people will offer themselves freely
on the day of your power,
in holy garments;
from the womb of the morning,
the dew of your youth will be yours.

4 The Lord has sworn
and will not change his mind,
“You are a priest forever
after the order of Melchizedek.”

5 The Lord is at your right hand;
he will shatter kings on the day of his wrath.

6 He will execute judgment among the nations,
filling them with corpses;
he will shatter chiefs
over the wide earth.

7 He will drink from the brook by the way;
therefore he will lift up his head.

Numbers 6

24 The Lord bless you and keep you;
25 the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.

27 “So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them.”

Psalm 3
3 But you, O Lord, are a shield about me,
my glory, and the lifter of my head.
4 I cried aloud to the Lord,
and he answered me from his holy hill. Selah

Proverbs 6 tells us
...God delights in mankind.

Like a soccer mom who has the most reluctant of  soccer players and has obvious talent.

Psalm 3
8 Salvation belongs to the Lord;
your blessing be on your people! Selah

What does God see in Gideon and Jesus? And David?
God sees obedience. Heart. Goodness. The need for encouragement. God sees the willingness and indwelling of the Holy Spirit to bless that person.

With what God Tools?
Ephesians 6 with solid core expectation of the Goodness of God.

David and Gideon see a willing Spirit to do the Good will in Many. Different from having your own agenda.

Our Abba,

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly.

We know Paul did not want to walk Your Plan and Path. We know Gideon did not either. We don't always want to go that way. And Jesus has said He makes our burdens light. Makes being yoked to Him - Light. Easier.

We accept this with faith. Knowing during the fierce storm in the path of Jesus and the Disciples, saw Jesus sleeping in the Boat. Jesus knew what He was saying about His Burden is Light. Jesus knew His job was to trust Jesus. Jesus knew the difference between stress and permanent loss.

Just as You saw goodness in Gideon and meager David, we need to remember to see the blessings in the souls You have called to Yourself. Seeing what Your loving people have to say.

And doing just like Jesus, Trusting Father God.

We lift up our cares, our loved ones and the People we pray for. We lift up this Nation to reflect Your peace. In Jesus we ask with the Amen and Alleluia at full ready to go standard.

Remembering how many found their circumstances not to be their plan and instead fell into step with God Himself. Knowing the Love and Amazing Mercy of Jesus Christ.

God will prepare us and establish us.

Ammmmmmmen Jesus the Lord !!! Alleluia Jesus.

Psalm 3

8 Salvation belongs to the Lord;
your blessing be on your people! Selah

The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator.
