Matthew 6:6-13 ~ When you pray †

Matthew 6:6-13

When you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

7 “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. 9 Pray then like this:

“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
10 Your kingdom come,
Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread,
12 and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

When we learn from Matthew 6, we find Jesus gives us the way forward to pray. Telling us what we all repeat, with the admonition not to pray in repeat phrases. This seems counter balanced backward. Father God, is of course, speaking of Hearts. God knows Zechariah's name before he doesn't grab the horns of the Altar. Zacchaeus before he climbs the tree to see Jesus. God knows the cry of two blind men, before they ask and Jesus waits to have them speak. He wants them to ask Him. David is chosen before Samuel sees him and is chosen for his heart.

I'm convinced. We are. And if we want to consider this from another angle, we are certainly able to see the depths.

Like yesterday's opening Photo. Similar to seeing the Space Station fly over a minute ago, counter to the clouds on the app isslive. Your smartphone will track the space station, giving the right map and angle.

Luke 11
Now Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.”

2 And He said to them, “When you pray, say:

“Father, hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come.
3 Give us each day our daily bread,
4 and forgive us our sins,
for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us.
And lead us not into temptation.”

Has Jesus been asked for knowledge about prayer for selfish reasons? He doesn't complete the Lord's Prayer. Jesus stops at Lead us not into temptation.

And begins again with the next thought:

5 Jesus said to his disciples, “Suppose one of you has a friend. Suppose you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, let me borrow three loaves of bread. 6 A friend of mine on a trip has dropped in on me, and I don’t have anything to serve him.’ 7 Your friend might answer you from inside his house, ‘Don’t bother me! The door is already locked, and my children are in bed. I can’t get up to give you anything.’ 8 I can guarantee that although he doesn’t want to get up to give you anything, he will get up and give you whatever you need because he is your friend and because you were so impudent.

9 “So I tell you to ask, and you will receive. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened for you. 10 Everyone who asks will receive. The one who searches will find, and for the person who knocks, the door will be opened.

I'd guess Jesus thought His Disciples were impudent and compelling.

Jesus was teaching what He lives with us:

11 “If your child asks you, his father, for a fish, would you give him a snake instead? 12 Or if your child asks you for an egg, would you give him a scorpion? 13 Even though you’re evil, you know how to give good gifts to your children.

So how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”

How very calmly Jesus tells His Disciples they are evil. When Aaron was invited to spend time with God in the Holy of Holies, God Himself instructed Aaron was to sprinkle the Holy of Holies with animal blood. Indicating all mankind are sinners. God knew to be seen as Righteous, His Son would cover us with Jesus' Righteousness. Paul tells us there are all manner of sins we aren't even aware of in the layers of our lives and thoughts. Jesus makes us new again in God's Heart and Sight.

The Color of the Curtain with Archangels

Jesus was telling us to pray is to know Jesus and then we fully understand we have been seen, known, heard and Loved.

John 1

48 Nathanael asked Jesus, “How do you know anything about me?”

Jesus answered him, “I saw you under the fig tree before Philip called you.”

49 Nathanael said to Jesus, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the king of Israel!”

50 Jesus replied, “You believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree. You will see greater things than that.” 51 Jesus said to Nathanael, “I can guarantee this truth: You will see the sky open and God’s angels going up and coming down to the Son of Man.”

And this is:

Thine is the Kingdom
Thine is the Power
Thine is the Glory.

2 Corinthians 1:3
Praise be to the God and Father of our LORD Jesus Christ,
the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort

When we pray for the people we Love we pray for the Kingdom, the Power and His Glory to live and dwell in the people we Love.

Abba,

Exodus 3:14

"God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you.""

So much of the Exodus from Chapters 15-40 explain our unhappiness in Pandemic. Even hornets. We ask You to help us always live in Your Law and in the Righteousness of Jesus Christ.

In Jesus Christ, we seek Your Mercy to enable All of mankind to treat each other not with power and condemnation, to Speak and Act in Love, Peace and Mercy.
Let us be seen as Mercy Bringers as we are.

In the Glory of knowing
Jesus in our soul. Every day.

Jesus Christ may, You, dwell in our hearts through faith.

We are being rooted and grounded in love.

We have power, together with all the saints,
to comprehend the length and width and height and depth
of our Almighty Father God and Your Love.

Seeing Heaven on earth, to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge,

And in placing You first, we will be filled with all the fullness of God.

Psalm 19 ~ rejoicing the heart

Both photos are from Texas A and M in College Station, Texas

Psalm 19

The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.

2 Day to day pours out speech,
and night to night reveals knowledge.
3 There is no speech, nor are there words,
whose voice is not heard.
4 Their voice goes out through all the earth,
and their words to the end of the world.

In them he has set a tent for the sun,
5 which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber,
and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy.

6 Its rising is from the end of the heavens,
and its circuit to the end of them,
and there is nothing hidden from its heat.

7 The law of the Lord is perfect,
reviving the soul;
the testimony of the Lord is sure,
making wise the simple;
8 the precepts of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes;
9 the fear of the Lord is clean,
enduring forever;
the rules of the Lord are true,
and righteous altogether.

10 More to be desired are they than gold,
even much fine gold;
sweeter also than honey
and drippings of the honeycomb.
11 Moreover, by them is your servant warned;
in keeping them there is great reward.

12 Who can discern his errors?
Declare me innocent from hidden faults.
13 Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins;
let them not have dominion over me!
Then I shall be blameless,
and innocent of great transgression.

14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

It's an unusual summer outside of Houston. We have had a lot of rain in July and this week was supposed to be scorching. Instead, we had a huge downpour and with big, big Thunder. To go up to our shopping center, I am very found of, and always reminds us of a small vacation is to be surprised. One day it will be jam packed as if for Christmas and the next is amazingly empty.

We have unusual statistics in our Montgomery County, Texas. Our largest area of Covid-19 is 40-year-olds and teens - 10 to 19-year-olds. We have been one of the largest Republican Counties in the USA, and with all this unity - our schools will wait to open. This is extremely reasonable and I'd doubt anyone is very thrilled. School is a large part of life.

How are we doing to be the second largest populated (Harris County is) County in the USA? I think we are finding what rejoices the heart. I'm not seeing downcast faces as much. The traffic doesn't suddenly veer over to an alarming degree.

Some faces look quite serious. But not panicked.

The Glory of God
We live in a time, we know what the rest of the world is doing during this time.

A strong man, runs its course with joy.
We know a Virus does not last forever. We are not in a Mad Max change of life. Have joy and look forward to years ahead with health and normalcy. We know, in this season, we will forge strength within ourselves.

The law of the Lord is perfect,
reviving the soul;
the testimony of the Lord is sure

Then I shall be blameless,
and innocent of great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

John 11
26 "and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

27 She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.”

We will reach the end of the nation's intense interest and battles what is important.
Freedom from intense worry - will happen - and we will rest.

We will have the joy of ease.

Abba,

We pray to be daily reminded with extreme Gratitude
remembering Health and the lack of panic,
the Peace will return.

Hebrews 1:8-10
But about the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever, and justice is the scepter of Your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, Your God, has placed You above Your companions by anointing You with the oil of joy.” And: “In the beginning, O Lord, You laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands"

Father, to see You First,
is to see the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.

To have full understanding of the Kingdom,
the Power
and Glory of God
is to completely trust You with our Loved ones.

Leviticus 11 ~ For I am the Lord your God

Leviticus 11

And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying to them, 2 “Speak to the people of Israel, saying, These are the living things that you may eat among all the animals that are on the earth. 3 Whatever parts the hoof and is cloven-footed and chews the cud, among the animals, you may eat. 4 Nevertheless, among those that chew the cud or part the hoof, you shall not eat these: The camel, because it chews the cud but does not part the hoof, is unclean to you. 5 And the rock badger, because it chews the cud but does not part the hoof, is unclean to you. 6 And the hare, because it chews the cud but does not part the hoof, is unclean to you. 7 And the pig, because it parts the hoof and is cloven-footed but does not chew the cud, is unclean to you. 8 You shall not eat any of their flesh, and you shall not touch their carcasses; they are unclean to you.

9 “These you may eat, of all that are in the waters. Everything in the waters that has fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the rivers, you may eat. 10 But anything in the seas or the rivers that does not have fins and scales, of the swarming creatures in the waters and of the living creatures that are in the waters, is detestable to you. 11 You shall regard them as detestable; you shall not eat any of their flesh, and you shall detest their carcasses. 12 Everything in the waters that does not have fins and scales is detestable to you.

13 “And these you shall detest among the birds;[a] they shall not be eaten; they are detestable: the eagle,[b] the bearded vulture, the black vulture, 14 the kite, the falcon of any kind, 15 every raven of any kind, 16 the ostrich, the nighthawk, the sea gull, the hawk of any kind, 17 the little owl, the cormorant, the short-eared owl, 18 the barn owl, the tawny owl, the carrion vulture, 19 the stork, the heron of any kind, the hoopoe, and the bat.

20 “All winged insects that go on all fours are detestable to you. 21 Yet among the winged insects that go on all fours you may eat those that have jointed legs above their feet, with which to hop on the ground. 22 Of them you may eat: the locust of any kind, the bald locust of any kind, the cricket of any kind, and the grasshopper of any kind. 23 But all other winged insects that have four feet are detestable to you.

24 “And by these you shall become unclean. Whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening, 25 and whoever carries any part of their carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening. 26 Every animal that parts the hoof but is not cloven-footed or does not chew the cud is unclean to you. Everyone who touches them shall be unclean. 27 And all that walk on their paws, among the animals that go on all fours, are unclean to you. Whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening, 28 and he who carries their carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening; they are unclean to you.

29 “And these are unclean to you among the swarming things that swarm on the ground: the mole rat, the mouse, the great lizard of any kind, 30 the gecko, the monitor lizard, the lizard, the sand lizard, and the chameleon. 31 These are unclean to you among all that swarm. Whoever touches them when they are dead shall be unclean until the evening. 32 And anything on which any of them falls when they are dead shall be unclean, whether it is an article of wood or a garment or a skin or a sack, any article that is used for any purpose. It must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the evening; then it shall be clean. 33 And if any of them falls into any earthenware vessel, all that is in it shall be unclean, and you shall break it. 34 Any food in it that could be eaten, on which water comes, shall be unclean. And all drink that could be drunk from every such vessel shall be unclean. 35 And everything on which any part of their carcass falls shall be unclean. Whether oven or stove, it shall be broken in pieces. They are unclean and shall remain unclean for you. 36 Nevertheless, a spring or a cistern holding water shall be clean, but whoever touches a carcass in them shall be unclean. 37 And if any part of their carcass falls upon any seed grain that is to be sown, it is clean, 38 but if water is put on the seed and any part of their carcass falls on it, it is unclean to you.

39 “And if any animal which you may eat dies, whoever touches its carcass shall be unclean until the evening, 40 and whoever eats of its carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening. And whoever carries the carcass shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening.

41 “Every swarming thing that swarms on the ground is detestable; it shall not be eaten. 42 Whatever goes on its belly, and whatever goes on all fours, or whatever has many feet, any swarming thing that swarms on the ground, you shall not eat, for they are detestable. 43 You shall not make yourselves detestable with any swarming thing that swarms, and you shall not defile yourselves with them, and become unclean through them. 44 For I am the Lord your God. Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am holy. You shall not defile yourselves with any swarming thing that crawls on the ground. 45 For I am the Lord who brought you up out of the land of Egypt to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.”

46 This is the law about beast and bird and every living creature that moves through the waters and every creature that swarms on the ground, 47 to make a distinction between the unclean and the clean and between the living creature that may be eaten and the living creature that may not be eaten.

What was God thinking? Acts 10 completely reversed Leviticus 11.

Leviticus - was working. In the U.K., 1000 BC, the people died at about age 20 years. Young children foraged to keep themselves alive and tribes formed. Life was about finding any type of food.

In Israel, even in slavery in Egypt, God was favoring the Children of Israel, including childbirth. As soon as David founded Jerusalem in Israel, Israel was terrace gardening to have a hope and future for the generations.

1 Chronicles 11:8
He built up the city all the way around, from the supporting terraces to the surrounding parts, and Joab restored the rest of the city.

1 Kings 11:27 Repair
 Solomon built the Millo (terrace),
and closed up the breach of the city of his father David.

2 Chronicles 9:11
And the king made of the algum trees terraces to the house of the LORD, and to the king's palace, and harps and psalteries for singers:
and there were none such seen before in the land of Judah.

And we are discussing eating. David slept with his fathers when his children had been grown for a very long time. David's grandchildren were born about the beginning of his reign, his children were grown and even settled in other cities. David was quite aged by the time he slept with his fathers. In Israel because of Kosher, the children grew up with parents to teach, comfort and protect them. Plans were made for grown children and even grandchildren.

Why did Acts 11 even occur?

The Names of God indicate the reason.

John 1

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

God tells us Jesus became the Manifest Word of God. Jesus delighted His Father as the Light of God. We know Light kills what is bacterial and even viral.

God tells us the New Covenant places the Holy Spirit from hovering over the waters and places the Holy Spirit within us.

About the time the Bubonic Plagues ended, The Bible was being printed for the first time in Native Languages as Acts 2. It was the first time for many to read, to teach, due to the deaths and to know and read the Word of God. The Lifespan of earth greatly increased.

Is God Happenstance? Is God Coincidental? Kosher ended as the Light of the World said He would live in us, have His being within us and our hearts would know God.

The Way God has used His Truth to Give Life - looks like a Plan of God.

The Word of God is Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.

Abba,

1 Peter 1:3
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!
In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope
through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

Father, to see You First,
is to see the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.

Romans 15:4
For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us,

so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures
and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.

To have full understanding of the Kingdom,
the Power
and Glory of God
is to completely trust You with our Loved ones.

Ephesians 4:4
There is one body and one Spirit,
just as you were called to one hope when you were called

The world has sought to find
Liberty and Justice for all
Your Word says
Behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

Isaiah 42:16
I will lead the blind by a way they did not know; I will guide them on unfamiliar paths. I will turn darkness into light before them and rough places into level ground.
These things I will do for them, and I will not forsake them.

In Jesus Christ, You tame the wilderness within each of us.

John 8:12
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

In Jesus Christ,
The Ark of the Covenant is Within

The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life.
