1 Corinthians 15:12-20 ~ in fact Christ has been raised

1 Corinthians 15:12-20

Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?

13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. 15 We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified about God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised.

16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied.

20 But in fact
Christ has been raised from the dead,
the firstfruits of those
who have fallen asleep.

Last week, there was a Post about the many boxes Edward and I have opened from our family in Estates. The thing about, "Opening the box...."

You just never know what you are going to find. My father had a terrible Christmas when he was two years old, he had a terrible case of Chicken Pox and wouldn't even speak.  My grandmother Bit wrote Daddy spent his Christmas leaning on her legs and ankles. She was very relieved when he went back to being chatty the next week.

My Grandmother Anita's box was Valentines Cards, Christmas Cards and Anniversary and no occasion whatsoever letters from my grandfather who had died before World War II. Ray was an architect, drew extremely well, and Ray left amazingly detailed love letters in a beautiful hand. My mother remembered the letters and cards, but hadn't seen these in 50 years. Grandmother Anita had cleared drawers in a chest of drawers in her room, the decades old correspondence was in new condition. Mother promptly framed them and hung them on the walls. I looked at my mother and said, "He is named Ray because he is Light. Love and Light."  Mother said he definitely believed Jesus. Anita wore her wedding rings in widowhood for 52 years, Anita would call us on the phone, elatedly, and tell us with great joy when she dreamed of Ray in Heaven. Anita always called him Ray and after a few decades, we did too.

Valentine's Day is one of the days we tend to get things we don't keep for a long time. Sort of an inverse relationship with Steadfast Love.

I love to have flowers. Love that.

If we could give the best gift, wouldn't we give - more years together. More times to have Joy. More peace. More Love.

Ray didn't live to be old, yet he left more Love. More Joy.

Roads of Heaven

What would be more precious than Forever?
Give Life along with the Flowers and Chocolates.

The old commandment is the word that you have heard. 8 At the same time, it is a new commandment that I am writing to you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.

Psalm 139

17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 If I would count them, they are more than the sand.
I awake, and I am still with you.

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
24 And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!

Abba, Father

Psalm 139 is the perfect reminder in all of Psalm 139.
Jesus helps us daily to find the path of Love and Encouragement.

Abba,
You have Blessed this Nation and believing Nations
with an Open Always Prayer Life
being who we are and believing You make us better and more loving.

We can look at Psalm 139
and remember the generations of people and families
doing all they can for their children in complex life
needing Jesus as Savior.

Your Word
gives us Hope
Love
Faith
Encouragement

We can ask for Your Holy Spirit to know
all of us
every cell
every molecule
Just as water is a wonder
You have created us as Wonders of Your Creation

and as Your Holy Spirit
knows every thought, every molecule
every cell
the hairs on our head
we have been filled with the
Light of Jesus Christ
and only the better
for Jesus to be the Light within us.

Our Prayer this year,
The Light of Heaven,
The Light of the world, God's Good Creation
Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow
The Light of Nations
The Light of Mankind
will be
the Light filling this complex time
with more
of Your Love, Encouragement
Guidance, Mercy
Grace upon Grace.

We ask simply God
for Your Love
and Your Mercy
Your forbearance with this time.

Autumn tells the Glory of God
and Christmas renews us in Hope
New Years is Jesus giving us pause to

As we are asked to remind God
to bless us with more Heaven on earth,
His Good Will be done.

To You, our Father, be the Glory
Our God is an Awesome God! Amen
and Alleluia
in Jesus Christ and His Glory!

Matthew 13:31,32

Jesus put before them another parable: “The Kingdom of Heaven
is like a mustard seed that a man planted in his field.

Although it is the smallest of all seeds,
yet it grows into the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree,
so that the birds of the air come
and
nest in its branches.”

Isaiah 2:3

And many peoples will come and say: "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us His ways so that we may walk in His paths." For the law will go forth from Zion,
and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Valentine's Day

Also called: Saint Valentine's Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine
 Observed for 1,527 years
February 14, 496 A.D.

Pope Gelasius I forbid the celebration of lewd Lupercalia and is  attributed  replacing it with St. Valentine's Day

The Book called Gelasian Sacramentary from the 700s

The Church calls this Tradition,
The Books have been studied for 1500 years.
The oldest book goes back to the 5th or 7th Century
relating to martyrs who were, Bishop Valentine.

The faithful call this History.
And the nay sayers, will say nay.

Someday,
we will see through the mirror
clearly.

Liber sacramentorum Romanae ecclesiae, "Book of Sacraments of the Church of Rome". An old tradition linked the book to Pope Gelasius I, apparently based on Walafrid Strabo's ascription of what is evidently this book to the 5th-century pope.

The sacramentary was compiled near Paris around 750, and it contains a mixture of Gallican and Roman elements. The dating of the liturgical contents are not based on characteristics of the surviving manuscript itself (ca 750): most of its liturgy reflects the mix of Roman and Gallican practice inherited from the Merovingian church.

In 785-6 the reforms of Pope Gregory I, Gregory the Great, were supplied to Charlemagne by Pope Hadrian I. An ascription to Gelasius gave an added authority to the contents, which are an important document of pre-Gregorian liturgy.

An order of Belgian monks spent three centuries collecting evidence for the lives of saints from manuscript archives around the known world. They were called Bollandists after Jean Bolland, a Jesuit scholar who began publishing the massive 68-folio volumes of “Acta Sanctorum,” or “Lives of the Saints,” beginning in 1643.

It would be unlikely the whole story of Valentine is a fable.

These Churches are built with Roman Empire Bricks.
St Cedes is 600 AD. Saxon Time.

The Size of the Church tells us Christianity was established far earlier than we imagine.

The archway is all Roman Empire Bricks. The History of the Roman Empire's methods, history and Architecture is known.

Skip the Steeple in the photo.

This is Essex Way Greenstead Church, U.K.
This remarkable Church has something going on, not readily apparent.

This is the way Churches looked in England before 1,000 A.D. the invasion of Norman's William the Conqueror. In fact, the Churches used to be like this and have timber. This Church has timber in it, from mostly 1000 A.D., but going back to 600 A.D.  This is two hundred years before Alfred the Great ---- who began to Record History.

Build during the Saxon Invasion, who loved to kill and plunder the gold and silver altar tools,
this was very brave indeed.

And... like the House Church in Thesseloniki
This is a House Church as described in the New Testament
Latomos Monastery - Church of Hosios David Epimenidou 17, Thessaloniki 546 33, Greece
aspects of the Monastery go back to 500 A.D.

Christianity wasn't drummed up by people who didn't have any other choice. Instead, we find History of the amazing sweep of Changes. The List of Emperors who didn't bother Christians in the first 4 centuries A.D. and like Emperor Constantine's Uncle, sent Constantine to kill the great-great-great nephews of Jesus Christ if they didn't swear it was a fable. Eyewitness. Rome.

We find Histories the literate studied for 300 years. 5th Century Histories. 6th Century House Churches in England. The Acts of the Apostle style Churches. Churches you can visit and kneel in 1,400 years later.

When we give Hallmark Lovely Cards. We are Celebrating Overcoming.

St Paul Jarrow, is built by Gauls of 600 A.D.

Built these Churches to be interior Roman Empire Architecture.
Victory.

And they are not illiterate or unintelligent. These are sophisticated buildings using international cooperation. Knowing 700 year old architecture.

Victory of the Empire with so many deaths of Christians for on and off 340 years.

Victory of Jesus Christ.

Victory over Governments Collapse,
Borders Fail. Rape. Theft. War. Murder.
Deaths of Family Members.

Victory of Jesus Christ.

Yes, even during the Saxon blood thirsty invasion
The French crossed the Channel to Glory in God with the English.
International Christian Joy during bloody times.

And interested in staying during warfare
to build more than one Church.

St. Peter Monkwearmouth and St Paul Jarrow
are both built by Gauls
and using Roman Empire Bricks
and in Roman Empire Architecture.
600 and 700 A.D.

How bad were the battles of 600 A.D.
We can find Trench warfare built by Alfred the Great.

Abba, Father,

God Bless us
to be Good
to be Righteous
to be merciful
to be Victorious over evil in all forms,
Pray in  Jesus Christ!
Amen.

John 16:20-24 ~ sorrow will turn into Joy

John 16:20-24

You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy. 21 When a woman is giving birthshe has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world.

22 So also you have sorrow nowbut I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. 23 In that day you will ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

Jesus spoke the Truth. The disciples would have such sorrow they would hide behind locked doors for days. Beginning only to come forth when Jesus was told to be alive. Of course, even seeing the young man in Nain and Lazarus come alive - they did not believe Mary Magdalene saying  Jesus is Alive.

Jesus works with fearful people and doubters. He always has. God, being God, hopes we take even disaster and imminent death with trust.

This weekend we were supposed to have a  7 person family reunion. And this involved driving to another city for a tournament for Edward and gathering from 2 states and 4 cities. I got there tonight about 9 pm after traveling in the dark. My husband greeted me saying, "No one is coming, there was a horrible traffic jam in Denver and the other son has an ill dog." Another person remembered her father had a birthday.

So, no one is in the house with me, and I'm out of town. Then we just looked at the weather for Edward's tournament, which will have 40 mph winds and rain.

Edward eyes me in apprehension. I had asked to join him Saturday and would have been cozy at home. I remembered a weekend in the dorm in college when I had 3 plans fall apart, and spent the entire weekend alone in a 400 person dorm.

And usually, there would have been yelling and phone calls and explanations.

Last night, I watched a 10-minute segment of fights on Commercial Airliners. The number of fights was probably 30. Sometimes it looked as if ten or more people were involved. And a fight of 45 people in Puerto Rico before the flight took off. Scenes of the movie: "Kingsman, Secret Service." It wasn't profoundly odd enough, we had to see the clip twice.

The emotion it raised in me was this recollection

Matthew 9:36

When He saw the crowds, He was moved with compassion for them,
because they were harassed and helpless,
like sheep without a shepherd.

I wrote a Post about going to the Pharmacy and seeing an elderly woman and young 20s store clerk almost having a personal riot.

Then I remembered, as I watched the violent video with plane fighting, when my son would cry as a toddler. We didn't go out to eat when they were toddlers past 7 p.m., crying with great sorrow would start. The only thing to stop the sorrow was meeting bedtime and their own blankets and bed things.

As I had this memory, a child on a commercial airplane began to just howl like a wounded animal to see the adults go crazy.

How could I have the typical sorrow and reactions that life had overcome the desire to gather as a family? The whole world is facing people in their immediate lives act like the people in the Pharmacy. Except, not exactly. Europe and the UK don't report an increase in crimes during the Pandemic. France only reports Domestic Violence, pretty bad, actually. Australia keeps meticulous crime records and with their bizarre upheaval, they aren't losing their minds in crime and airplanes.

If you want to know the effects of Crime on people, you can't get more in their face than the violent plane fights. It's incredible to see adults unable to remain calm in close surroundings.

We have become a people who are overwhelmed. And the sorrow of us having so much initial success in Pandemic. The world of blue skies and clear water in Venice would become far from equality and steeped in violence and emotion.

Lost people. Hurting people. We are these people. And it's tragic.

We are the most Praying Nation. We need to find our Strength with Patience for One Another.

Not allow violence, but not decide to provide a place violence and crime can occur. The U.K. has amazing gates that close unbelievably fast. Creating a hallway where the Police come and collect the violent. Works. Well.

Being so in His Plan - prayers with miracles are given.

In in this Seeking and Having Found Jesus, Father God delights in seeing His Plan unfold. I would guess there are some Celestial Candid Camera moments for Answered Prayer. It's written Heaven rejoices over one Saved Soul.

Luke 15
5 And when he finds the one lost sheep, He joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’

I wonder if Heaven watches out-takes videos of faces when Prayers are Answered.

Some day, some day, some day, we will see the Heaven Videos of Answered Prayers.

Jesus has always known He is a bringer of Joy.

Luke 2:10
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.

Luke 10
17 The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.”

18 He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. 20 However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

21 At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.

Luke 19:37
When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen!!!

God tells us in Genesis - He sees this creation as Good. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.

Jesus tells us in John - He has Joy in being part of this Life. Father God sees much more of Life than we do. In Jesus is life, and that life is the light of all mankind.

Abba, Father,

We pray Your Words:

John 15:11
I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

John 16:21
joy that a child is born into the world.

John 16:22
So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.

John 16:24
Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.

John 17:13
“I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them."

When the Saints Go Marching In,
I want to be in the Number seeing
the Heaven made Candid Camera Videos
and the
Jesus Answered Prayer Videos
with Jesus.

Dwell in us.
Dwell in those we Love.
Help us to seek You First.
Help us to see the Light of Christ
in one another.
Find Respect.
Find Patience.
Find Joy.
Hug like Bob Saget.

For our Nation, particularly, in this weird Crime time.
We will see what requires our Compassion
and what requires the UK fast gate wall and jail.

Help us to be the people
who provide a place
of Love and Encouragement
we don't get to the place of violence and hate.

The anger of mankind
does not produce the Righteousness
of
GOD.

You, Father, see us as we are
and want to save the world
In Jesus Christ.

Bless those surrounding
the people
who feel like Lost Sheep.
Help us to be unobtrusive, kindly Shepherds.

Bless the Brave.
The First Responders
The Medical People
Bless those who care for them.

We Simply say
the Lord's Prayer
and
ask You to Lead and Guide us.
In Jesus Christ,
We will find Joy, Again.
Amen.

About Me

My photo
Email registry at bottom.! “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Men “moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
