Habakkuk 2 ~ The Lord is in His Holy Temple





Habakkuk 2



I will take my stand at my watchpost
and station myself on the tower,
and look out to see what he will say to me,
and what I will answer concerning my complaint.

2 And the Lord answered me:


“Write the vision;

make it plain on tablets,
so he may run who reads it.
3 For still the vision awaits its appointed time;
it hastens to the end—it will not lie.
If it seems slow, wait for it;
it will surely come; it will not delay.

4 “Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him,
but the righteous shall live by his faith.

5 “Moreover, wine is a traitor,
an arrogant man who is never at rest.
His greed is as wide as Sheol;
like death he has never enough.
He gathers for himself all nations
and collects as his own all peoples.”

6 Shall not all these take up their taunt against him, with scoffing and riddles for him, and say,

“Woe to him who heaps up what is not his own—
for how long?—
and loads himself with pledges!”
7 Will not your debtors suddenly arise,
and those awake who will make you tremble?
Then you will be spoil for them.
8 Because you have plundered many nations,
all the remnant of the peoples shall plunder you,
for the blood of man and violence to the earth,
to cities and all who dwell in them.

9 “Woe to him who gets evil gain for his house,
to set his nest on high,
to be safe from the reach of harm!
10 You have devised shame for your house
by cutting off many peoples;
you have forfeited your life.
11 For the stone will cry out from the wall,
and the beam from the woodwork respond.

12 “Woe to him who builds a town with blood
and founds a city on iniquity!
13 Behold, is it not from the Lord of hosts
that peoples labor merely for fire,
and nations weary themselves for nothing?
14 For the earth will be filled
with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord
as the waters cover the sea.

15 “Woe to him who makes his neighbors drink—
you pour out your wrath and make them drunk,
in order to gaze at their nakedness!
16 You will have your fill of shame instead of glory.
Drink, yourself, and show your uncircumcision!
The cup in the Lord's right hand
will come around to you,
and utter shame will come upon your glory!
17 The violence done to Lebanon will overwhelm you,
as will the destruction of the beasts that terrified them,
for the blood of man and violence to the earth,
to cities and all who dwell in them.

18 “What profit is an idol
when its maker has shaped it,
a metal image, a teacher of lies?
For its maker trusts in his own creation
when he makes speechless idols!
19 Woe to him who says to a wooden thing, Awake;
to a silent stone, Arise!
Can this teach?
Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver,
and there is no breath at all in it.


20 But the Lord is in his holy temple;
let all the earth keep silence before him.”


Ragnarok is a Norwegian-language drama from Netflix that premiered on 31 January 2020. A fight between Norse gods and Giants.

And what we found was these aren't gods - they kill children, they rape young boys in statutory rape and from places of authority and trust. They kill wildlife horribly and eat beating hearts. This was Hercules meets demons.

What an unenviable place it would be to be a demon. Unwanted. Unappreciated. Unloved. And in Jesus Christ - powerless. Influence is extremely limited. An eternity of being disgusting without reward. Conned into thinking glory is coming for all this evil plotting. Nothing is being built. Nothing is being held to honor. Conned to be hateful for someone else to have glory. This is the worst job description in the world or in eternity. Doing the work of evil - for the purpose of evil.

The Watchtower in a town is fun for a while. Sure. "What do you see?" But there are a lot of hours of silence. And waiting. The Watchtower is also a storehouse of goods the town relies upon. The hours of not much happening is actually building safety for many.

The position of standing firm for God - has God interested in hearing and fixing complaints. All the hours of keeping others safe, vast numbers of people, has the interest and heart of God. The willingness to do good when not much is going to happen.

Surely a great Job!

Abba,

Nathaniel was seen as he prayed under the fig tree. You saw Nathaniel in the still and quiet of God in His Heaven. Our Father God in the hearts of His Beloved People - Part of His Heaven. Our God in His Heaven. God The Almighty.

Father we pray simply - More Heaven on earth. Your Good Will. This Day - Given. Our Daily Bread. Forgiveness. Your Glory. Your Scripture, Your Power, Your Word.

Encourage Goodness. Guide me, guide the Ones You Love, to be on Your Path. To be in Your Encouragement. Keep us steadfast. In Your Righteousness guard and guide us in wisdom, mercy, Seeking You first, Love, Peace and Joy.

Surround and enfold us in Jesus. Deliver us from Harm.

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Lifting up Elliott, Dee, my mom. Please pray for our dogs in recovery from their surgery, especially our girl puppy who is in great pain and jerks to suddenly realize the pain. All our hearts to Jesus.  Amen in Jesus.

Psalm 30 ~ I will extol You, O Lord



Psalm 30

A Psalm of David. A song at the dedication of the temple.

I will extol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up
and have not let my foes rejoice over me.

2 O Lord my God, I cried to you for help,
and you have healed me.

3 O Lord, you have brought up my soul from Sheol;
you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit.

4 Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints,
and give thanks to his holy name.
5 For his anger is but for a moment,
and his favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may tarry for the night,
Joy comes with the morning.

6 As for me, I said in my prosperity,
“I shall never be moved.”
7 By your favor, O Lord,
you made my mountain stand strong;
you hid your face;
I was dismayed.

8 To you, O Lord, I cry,
and to the Lord I plead for mercy:
9 “What profit is there in my death,
if I go down to the pit?
Will the dust praise you?
Will it tell of your faithfulness?
10 Hear, O Lord, and be merciful to me!
O Lord, be my helper!”

11 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
you have loosed my sackcloth
and clothed me with gladness,
12 that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!


When we consider David, in Faith, wrote the Dedication to the Temple, he had faced some dire times.  How unusual David would refer to dancing and clothed in gladness, when he had both brought his donkey to a coronation and danced in the nude being crowned King - to the eternal dismay of David's first wife Michal. Surely with sincerity, we can say David was bringing himself, with his real personality, before God the Almighty.

David probably considered more of Heaven, knowing he would not live to see the Dedication of the Temple.





The Temple would fall in 546 B.C. according to Jeremiah and to the Babylonian Cuneiform. And this was the road to the second Dedication. We learn from Scriptures life really takes faith to get through what is Truly Awful to Find Blessings. David and the Children of Israel knew the work of faith. To Believe in the One God has Sent.



Psalm 137

By the waters of Babylon,
there we sat down and wept,
when we remembered Zion.
2 On the willows there
we hung up our lyres.
3 For there our captors
required of us songs,
and our tormentors, mirth, saying,
“Sing us one of the songs of Zion!”

4 How shall we sing the Lord's song
in a foreign land?
5 If I forget you, O Jerusalem,
let my right hand forget its skill!
6 Let my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth,
if I do not remember you,
if I do not set Jerusalem
above my highest joy!

7 Remember, O Lord, against the Edomites
the day of Jerusalem,
how they said, “Lay it bare, lay it bare,
down to its foundations!”
8 O daughter of Babylon, doomed to be destroyed,
blessed shall he be who repays you
with what you have done to us!
9 Blessed shall he be who takes your little ones
and dashes them against the rock!



Even this is emotional. The prisoners were forced to walk 1,000 miles to Babylon and witnessed the burning of the entire city and many murders. Things like this occurred to David too.





Consider the men in the boat on the Sea of Galilee, rowed, trimmed the sails, set the sail. It was work to get where Jesus wanted to go - usually. We do work to move ahead. Even if that work is Faith - a lot of Faith.




Now let's look at the lifting of tired hands and feet to the Dedication of the Temple - David was probably thinking of in Heaven.


Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as Righteousness.

Look at the Dedication of the Temple, thinking with David about being just a man and a man of God.




Isaiah 60

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. 
See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples,
 but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you. 
Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.


Psalm 19

and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.

2 Day to day pours out speech,

and night to night reveals knowledge.

“I tell you,” Jesus answered, “if they remain silent, the very stones will cry out.”



Abba,

We pray with all of Your Good Creation.

For more of Your Good Will on Heaven as on earth.

I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love.

We pray the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. We pray Jesus to live and dwell in those we Love. We pray Jesus the Teacher and Comforter of all who know and love Him today and those who Love Him tomorrow. God is Love.


We ask to find the Jesus and His Kingdom within us to live in Love, Peace and Joy.


We ask for the sick and the ill to have all Healing and Comfort of God and His Word spoken to Heal.


I'm praying for my Standard Poodles, especially our female, who were spayed and neutered today and she is so quiet and not herself. For the healing of her body and spirit. And she seems a little better, thank Jesus.


We Lift High God's Hope within us and give Him our prayers, spoken and of the heart Jesus knows so well.


Lifting up China to have healing and hope. The Healing Word of God. And for the Pakistan citizens in China. To have safety and health.


Giving God Great Thanks Sydney's heaviest rain in 30 years put out bush fires that have been burning for months.


Jesus Christ unites us as we pray for Healing, Hope, Love and Peace. Letting the Peace of God rule our hearts.


Amen in Jesus.

The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.

to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,

 For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.










Abba,

In every season, Love is what we need. Your Love.

Your Love living in us. To seek the Kingdom of God first. To live in Love, Peace and Joy.

You Have Given, Thank You, and You have given to me. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over,
is poured from You. Your Mercies Renew and when You renew these mercies, Father, I ask to hold on to this Goodness from You. Your Blessings are in Life and we are Blessed by Your Plan.

We thank You, hear our Prayer and You are God. The Almighty. Father.

We hold on to Your Goodness and Plan. You hear Prayer and You answer, considering as You Listen to our prayer.

We Thank You for Helping and Healing Elliott, praying for Dee's health, for my eye surgery next month, the first of several. The blessing the scar in my eye was 40-50% and now is small. The blessing of my family. The Mercy of Jesus. And the spay and neuter of our year old Poodles tomorrow. For great recovery.



Father, let us have more Heaven on earth in Your Good Will.


Father, I entrust my mother, Anne, to be relieved of Alzheimer's Disease. A month or more ago, my mother knew her health had changed and knew her time had come.  She hoped her passing would be easy. She is no longer talking much or understanding conversation. 
My mother is mostly in bed all the time. 

This is a prayer of a Church we attended in Dallas.

 We entrust Anne to you, embracing her in Your tender love.
 Deliver her from every evil.  Let Your Mercy help her passing to eternal 
rest be peaceful and Loving. The old order has passed away. 
You will bless Anne with welcome into Your Paradise. Where there will be
no sorrow, no weeping nor pain. With Jesus and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.

From Your fullness we have received grace upon grace, Your Heart and Love.


Covered in the Love and Name of Jesus. Amen.
