Psalm 126 ~ Restore our fortunes, O Lord

Psalm 126

When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion,
we were like those who dream.

Then our mouth was filled with laughter,
and our tongue with shouts of joy;

Then they said among the nations,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”

3 The Lord has done great things for us; we are glad.
Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like streams in the Negeb!

Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy!

He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing,
shall come home with shouts of joy,
bringing his sheaves with him.

John 1
Jesus brings Light into the world, and though
the world is full of darkness, it has not
overcome His Light

Have a heart than never hardens, & a temper that never tires,
and a touch that never hurts. - Charles Dickens

We have had Posts about the Trauma of this era. And today, my friend the physician I sat with at Pro Life, has had the 2nd case of SAD. Sudden death. Kirk was called to his next door neighbor to make a welfare check and the man who was 62 years old, his friend, had passed on.  '

CNBC April reported before the Pandemic there were 10 reports of violence a month on all USA airlines. 2021 saw 500 cases of violence per month and, in 2022, it's 350 monthly  illegal violence reports on airlines.

So, let's have some good news. It's like Pandemic Recovery, it's muddled, yet hopeful.

Investors Business Daily rarely warns the Stock Market is muddled. Which is saying there is just no telling what will happen to what you invest in. Supreme Caution. Why is this good? With the Fed saying Interest Rates could go up 3/4 percent instead of half, you'd think panic would set in. Instead, we see rising American Optimism that suddenly deflates with worry and builds again. The stock market version of, "I'm fine, I'm fine, I'm fine, I can overcome, I'm worried, yes worried, no, instead I will hope. And perceiver."

Labor market is holding. Wages are rising. Retail isn't in the worst slump. Dismal finance science and demand disaster have not happened. Optimism is floating along.

Could be because it's 2022 mid-term elections. Or it is the 81% who pray and believe God will answer. Could be the Source of American optimism when no soul alive and functioning thinks we have 8% inflation in historic inflation. It's not lovely living the Niagara Falls rapids boil this way and that. However, it is optimism. And I have the urge to smile. Beyond the hurmpff.

Psalm 12 ~ Arise says the Lord †

Jerusalem, the City of David, he conquered to reclaim for the Tribe of Judah and Israel

Israel Exists Today. Our great-grandparents couldn't have said this
 and  2,000 years before this.

Psalm 12

A Psalm of David

Save, O Lord, for the godly one is gone;
for the faithful have vanished from among the children of man.
2 Everyone utters lies to his neighbor;
with flattering lips and a double heart they speak.

3 May the Lord cut off all flattering lips,
the tongue that makes great boasts,
4 those who say, “With our tongue we will prevail,
our lips are with us; who is master over us?”

5 “Because the poor are plundered, because the needy groan,
I will now arise,” says the Lord;
“I will place him in the safety for which he longs.”
6 The words of the Lord are pure words,
like silver refined in a furnace on the ground,
purified seven times.

7 You, O Lord, will keep them;
you will guard us from this generation forever.
8 On every side the wicked prowl,
as vileness is exalted among the children of man.

Pandemic Recovery seems to be the time the world decided to shake free from trouble and advance. We seem to be in the crosshairs of increasing the workforce through the Southern Border.  There is no warm charity in the method of the Southern Border.

We had a California and NY longshoreman strike. True when you read the websites at the time.  The docks around the USA have cameras for all to see. The crisis was placed on these states. Now we have a 60 day delay for Union Pacific Railroad, Nebraska main office, to have a strike. The average worker is reported to make a large sum of money, and Union Pacific makes 1.3 to 1.6 Billion in profit. We pray this won't hurt the nation. Crude Oil and Food travel the 140,000 miles of Railroad in this nation. Trains are loaded in rural areas and serve rural areas. This is a vital aspect of our USA Supply Chain.

 The differences seem to be placed in the money centers on the coasts and the workforce in the middle of the entire country. Suddenly, even the national news MSNBC resigning from the news, tells us this isn't even news and is only entertainment. We are in a cold war nationally.

Pandemics historically have this situation. Anger and turmoil after fear during Pandemic. And the study of Pandemics history worldwide seem to occur when the planet is acting in manners that are not advancing mankind.

We all greatly look forward to the next five years after the profit taking and wars are ready to cease.

 What our Savior Jesus Christ Saw from the Cross, painted by James Tissot

Isaiah 59:21
 “And as for me, this is my covenant with them,” says the Lord: “My Spirit that is upon you, and my words that I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouth of your offspring, or out of the mouth of your children's offspring,” says the Lord, “from this time forth and forevermore.”

The Pro Life Generation. God creates Life, we are all pretty certain He is Pro Life.

There is Scripture you will lean forward to look upon. Just as Israel looked for the Messiah for over 700 years.

Why did the Lord choose to send the Messiah to such a time? When Israel was broken into Judea, a suburb of Syria. For one thing, the Davidic line was being reclaimed by the Herodians, who struck images of themselves, and called themselves King of Israel. Or Judea.

Would the Lord see Psalm 12 as HIS motivation for the birth of His Son?

John 2:24b -25
He knew all people,and needed no one to bear witness about man, for he himself knew what was in man.

How did Jesus see this time frame?  Remember, the Messiah was not born to live in Jerusalem or dwell constantly in the Temple.

Matthew 23:37
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not!"

Luke 23:27
And there followed him a great multitude of the people
 and of women who were mourning
and lamenting for Him.

Luke 23:28
But turning to them Jesus said, “Daughters of Jerusalem,
do not weep for me,
but weep for yourselves
and for your children."

This has been a tough set of years for women and children. Uncomfortable in many ways.

There are a few ideas, in Scripture, of Jesus' emotions upon the Cross and the road to the Cross. Perhaps one of the overlooked ideas is of Jesus speaking to the multitudes of women who turned out to weep for Him. They did not have any agenda other than sorrow to see Jesus condemned. No flattering lips. The needy groaned. The people were poor; the government was taking Jesus from them.

Jesus understood the power of His Word very well. How many times did He call the women 'Daughters of Jerusalem'? Only in the Song of Solomon is this recorded. Jesus, I believe, is addressing them not just with prophecy of this day, but in appreciation the daughters of Eve, would try to comfort Him on His road to the cross.

How would this add to this day for Jesus?

Luke 23:34
And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”

You, O Lord, will keep them;
you will guard us from this generation forever.

Abba, Father,

We are praying for rain in all the areas with Heat Advisories

We pray for Your favor

on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this Day!

Psalm 15 ~ speaks truth in his heart

Abraham could be found
Oaks of Mamre

Psalm 15

O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent?
 Who shall dwell on your holy hill?

 2 He who walks blamelessly and does what is right
and speaks truth in his heart;
 3 who does not slander with his tongue and does no evil to his neighbor,
 nor takes up a reproach against his friend;
4 in whose eyes a vile person is despised,
 but who honors those who fear the Lord;
who swears to his own hurt and does not change;
5 who does not put out his money at interest
 and does not take a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things shall never be moved.

Bland and takin' it easy. Wasn't the style of Abraham and Winston Churchill. Both encountered harsh circumstance. Abraham would take up war to find Justice. Lay everything on the line. And knew, he was facing death to help the people he did.

When we get to be 40 ish, we decide this is it, this is the more permanent direction of life. And some will have a midlife crisis. Or later a life crisis. In our 60s, this is called, "Is this life worth leading? Is this meaningful life?"

This doesn't have to be when we discover this. Being bland tends to repress people. And in the 1990s, we were told not to offend anyone conversationally.  Winston Churchill knew he could help his nation and he would move, change houses and neighborhoods and political sides. Whig and Tory. Churchill had a direction, he just didn't have a clear path to being followed.  No agenda drove Churchill. He was for the improvement of his nation, achieved by both sides.  Churchill acknowledged not everyone loved him. And said if we make enemies, it must be we stood for something.

Change, yet Spiritual permanence. A life worth leading! The Core of the Holy Spirit.

Today, we often yell or use harsh language to make the point. See Threats and hellish actions to feel sustained. The point is making a clear point and staying there. Being understood not to change.  Psalm 15 is about being unchangeable to what God has placed in us. The unquenchable fire of the Holy Spirit.

Words matter, we can't throw pearls to pigs and hope the pearls are fine. Youth ministry says we have to earn the right to be heard; before planting a flower bed or vegetable garden, we make sure it isn't swept away by water or fire.  Even insects. Our words shouldn't be thrown in, but placed where the trust and truth is.

We are in Dallas, visiting family and friends. In May, we placed $1,500 of new grass at the house my brother and I own, had belonged to our mom. Shared the overflow grass. During the showings of the house, someone hurt the sprinkler 3 ways. The sprinkler repairman I talked to said brown outs will set the sprinkler off. The grass is flat, dead. We received a lower offer. Give up? No, find new market information, fortify the fort and continue on and upward. Have we been rude to the people around us since 1977? Absolutely not, two sets of neighbors have had a lot of yard help from us in their Pandemic.

Our grass sharing neighbor said it wasn't the sprinkler set on the right Texas allowed days, it was new grass and the heat. Today, we had a stranger walk on the front porch and examine the 2 sets of sprinklers. And hurry away when I came to the window. It won't matter forever, the house is so pretty, God is good and it will sell.

And in this Love, we find we have the Joy for all seasons of our lives. And self-esteem for treating others well and appropriately. We have seen in our world, goodness is sometimes treated poorly. But the strength to risk being good, is the enduring strength to continue. The Post was chosen before reading the Scriptures. Climbing up and forward is better than being stuck to be put in less than a good place. The Good Fight to make a 'good' life is a meaningful life.  Finding the Joy. Moving back to Joy. Humor.

Email registry at bottom.! “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Men “moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
