Psalm 50:23 ~ Salvation

Let us be Light bringers. Let our light shine in the Brilliance of God's Light and Rising Glory.

John 1:27 ~ He is Jesus Christ, Son of God, our Savior

John 1:27

He is the One

Who comes after me,
The straps of His sandals
I am not worthy to untie.

“It is no use walking anywhere to preach unless our walking is our preaching.”

“Preach the Bible at all times, if necessary, use words.”

St. Francis never sought to elevate action over speaking
in the task of bringing the Gospel

Neither did he believe the Gospel was only a message to be communicated.

Francis recognized that the Gospel was all consuming, the work of God to restore all of Creation

Unto Himself for His glory. Francis embraced the truth, authority of the Gospel, he proclaimed with his mouth was given authority by the nature and character of the life he led. And in the same way, he knew, in spite of his own failings (and that of other Christians), the proclaimed message of hope and love would find fertile soil in the hearts of others, and so His Gospel must be proclaimed

This Nation is suffering. 1 in 3 say regular life is hard to afford.

The one situation that is life and death, in our Nation,

is happening in the neighborhoods and in the Animal Shelters. More and more of neighborhoods on Social Media are finding released pets. Animal Shelters are having to put animals to sleep.

What we do to the least of society...

Matthew 25:40-45

40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44 Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ 45

Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’

I'm not sure people get over letting an animal go. They either become more loving to the animal kingdom or more aloof.

What proof do we have about Animals and God?

When the Ark was afloat, the animals were two by two. Ancient Persia has the same story. And this led to God making a Covenant of Peace with His Good Creation. His Salvation covered the animals. How likely is a Neolithic man going to make up the Creator of All, wanted animals to be in His Covenant of Salvation?

The Book of Revelation tells us Horses are part of God's Eternal Kingdom and for Elijah as well.

Foster, Foster, Foster! For Fun, Fun!

The Lord tells us in Proverbs, a good man does not muzzle Oxen. They are allowed to graze during their work. We can't take animals and remove them from their jobs and say we are doing them a favor. Dogs are born knowing fellowship. A dog alone is. A cat not allowed to be outside... well then let them cruise the attic. A cat has a job. We had voles until we recently adopted two orange kittens.

Our dogs think the cats are hilarious. Saturday, they watched him climb a tree, with his jingle bell collar, like a drunken toddler. The cat was bewildered when our Poodle girl, put her rear in the air and decided to play with him. Kisses happen.

Dogs have a job.  They are alarms. This place is secure. And beware, they are successful. Amazon and Fedex drop what they are doing and flee.  Raccoons don't live in the attics where cat litter is placed. Adolescent dogs are not destructive during the day when they have some pal to continue their puppy fellowship.

Pet food is expensive. Toddler Gummy Vitamins are not. Animals with a pack have exercise and few health cares. Exercise, exercise, exercise. Hens and eggs are also food producers. Leftovers.

Elderly dogs don't deserve to have any disloyalty. They might not have the most Arthritic meds, but they have all they need with their family.

Blessed are the Merciful, they shall receive Mercy!!!

Teach your children well!

Everyone Loves St. Francis of Assisi

Windows into Heaven

Saint Francis and his companions were making a trip through the Spoleto Valley near the town of Bevagna. Suddenly, Saint Francis spotted a great number of birds of all varieties ' doves, crows and others. Swept up in the moment, Saint Francis left his friends in the road and ran after the birds, who patiently waited for him. He greeted them in his usual way, expecting them to scurry off into the air as he spoke. But they didn't move.

Filled with awe, he asked them if they would stay awhile and listen to the Word of God. He said to them: "My brother and sister birds, you should praise your Creator and always love him: He gave you feathers for clothes, wings to fly and all other things that you need. It is God who made you noble among all creatures, making your home in the air. Without sowing or reaping, you receive God's guidance and protection."

At this the birds began to spread their wings, stretch their necks and gaze at the saint, rejoicing and praising God in a wonderful way according to their nature. Saint Francis then walked right through the middle of them, turned around and came back, touching their heads and bodies with his tunic.

Then he gave them his blessing, making the sign of the cross over them. At that they flew off and Saint Francis, rejoicing and giving thanks to God, went on his way.

Later, Saint Francis wondered aloud to his companions why he had never preached to birds before. And from that day on, he made it his habit to solicitously invoke all birds, all animals and reptiles to praise and love their Creator. And many times during his life there were remarkable events of Saint Francis speaking to the animals. There was even a time when he quieted a flock of noisy birds that were interrupting a religious ceremony! Much to the wonder of all present, the birds remained quiet until Francis' sermon was complete.

In 1228 Francis was declared a saint by Pope Gregory IX, who laid the foundation stone for the Basilica of Saint Francis in Assisi. According to legend, the doves at the Basilica arrived as soon as the foundation stone was laid and have roosted there ever since.

The Rabbit
One day, a brother brought a rabbit who had been caught in a trap to St. Francis. The saint advised the rabbit to be more alert in the future, then released the rabbit from the trap and set it on the ground to go its way. But the rabbit hopped back up onto Saint Francis' lap, desiring to be close to the saint.

Saint Francis took the rabbit a few steps into the woods and set it down. But it followed Saint Francis back to his seat and hopped on his lap again! Finally, Saint Francis asked one of his fellow friars to take the rabbit far into the woods and let it go.

Saint Francis and the Animals, from Monastery icons Tamed by the Spirit of Peace
While Saint Francis was staying in the town of Gubbio he learned of a wolf so ravenous that it was not only killing and eating animals, but people, too. The people took up arms and went after it, but those who encountered the wolf perished at its sharp teeth. Villagers became afraid to leave the city walls.

Saint Francis had pity on the people and decided to go out and meet the wolf. He was desperately warned by the people, but he insisted that God would take care of him. A brave friar and several peasants accompanied Francis outside the city gate. But soon the peasants lost heart and said they would go no farther.

Saint Francis and his companion began to walk on. Suddenly the wolf, jaws agape, charged out of the woods at the couple. Saint Francis made the Sign of the Cross toward it. The power of God caused the wolf to slow down and to close its mouth.

Then Saint Francis called out to the creature: "Come to me, Brother Wolf. In the name of Christ, I order you not to hurt anyone." At that moment, the wolf lowered its head and lay down at Saint Francis' feet, meek as a lamb.

Saint Francis explained to the wolf that he had been terrorizing the people, killing not only animals, but humans who are made in the image of God. "Brother Wolf," said Francis, "I want to make peace between you and the people of Gubbio. They will harm you no more and you must no longer harm them. All past crimes are to be forgiven."

The wolf showed its assent by moving its body and nodding its head. Then to the absolute surprise of the gathering crowd, Saint Francis asked the wolf to make a pledge. As Saint Francis extended his hand to receive the pledge, so the wolf extended its front paw and placed it into the saint's hand. Then Saint Francis commanded the wolf to follow him into town to make a peace pact with the townspeople. The wolf meekly followed Saint Francis.

By the time they got to the town square, everyone was there to witness the miracle. With the wolf at his side, Saint Francis gave the town a sermon on the wondrous and fearful love of God, calling them to repent from all their sins. Then he offered the townspeople peace, on behalf of the wolf. The townspeople promised in a loud voice to feed the wolf. Then Saint Francis asked the wolf if he would live in peace under those terms. He bowed his head and twisted his body in a way that convinced everyone he accepted the pact. Then once again, the wolf placed its paw in Saint Francis' hand as a sign of the pact.

From that day on, the people kept the pact they had made. The wolf lived for two years among the townspeople, going from door to door for food. It hurt no one and no one hurt it. Even the dogs did not bark at it. When the wolf finally died of old age, the people of Gubbio were sad. The wolf's peaceful ways had been a living reminder to them of the wonders, patience, virtues and holiness of Saint Francis. It had been a living symbol of the power and providence of the living God.

Saint Francis and the Lambs
Saint Francis had great love and respect for the sanctity of all life, seeing all creation as his brothers and sisters in the Lord. On one occasion he came upon a merchant carrying two small lambs to market. Moved by the plaintive bleating of the lams, he caressed them and asked the peasant, "Why do you torment my brothers the lambs?" When he learned in horror that the man intended to sell them for slaughter, he declared, "That will not happen!" and bought them from the man. At Portiuncula, for many years, he had a tame lamb which followed him everywhere, even into the church, where its bleating mingled with the chants of the brethren.

At another time in Rome, Saint Francis procured a lamb for himself, which upon his departure he gave to the lady Jacopa. The lamb lived in her house many years and used to follow her to mass in the mornings. Indeed, in its eagerness to go to church, it would often wake its mistress with friendly buttings of the head when she was late it getting up. Out of this lamb's wool Jacopa spun and wove the habit which in the autumn of 1226 she took with her to Portiuncula, and in which Saint Francis died.

The Donkey Who Wept
It is said that on his deathbed St. Francis thanked his donkey for carrying and assisting him throughout his life, and his donkey wept.

Abba, Father

Following the way of Jesus,
we may for love of You delight
 in your whole creation with perfectness of joy.

O God, you have made us and all living things.
You are even more
wonderful than what You have made.

We thank You, Father, for giving us these animals who bring us joy.
As you take care of us, so also we ask Your help
that we might take care of those who trust us to look
after them.

By doing this, we share in your own love for all creation.
We ask this in Jesus' name.
Amen.

Prayer of St. Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light; and
where there is sadness, joy.
O, God, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen in Jesus Christ.

Abba, Father,

You are the Shepherd of the Sheep
Overseer of our Souls.

Jesus Christ, Your Son,Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree,
so that we might die to sin
 and live to righteousness. “By His stripes you are healed.”

We pray for Your Love and Help.

You saved us, not because of righteous things we had done,
 but because of His mercy.
Jesus saved us through the washing of rebirth
and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

We Look to You,
You created the world. Your Light is the radiance of the glory of God
and the exact imprint of Your nature,
and You uphold the universe by the Word of You power.

Cover us in the Grace and Mercy
in the
Highest Name of Jesus Christ.
AMEN.

Psalms 36:7
How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!
 People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.

His kingdom is an eternal kingdom

What a week

Psalm 142

With my voice I cry out to the Lord;
    with my voice I plead for mercy to the Lord.
2 I pour out my complaint before him;
    I tell my trouble before him.

3 When my spirit faints within me,
    you know my way!
In the path where I walk
    they have hidden a trap for me.
4 Look to the right and see:
    there is none who takes notice of me;
no refuge remains to me;
    no one cares for my soul.

5 I cry to you, O Lord;
    I say, “You are my refuge,
    my portion in the land of the living.”
6 Attend to my cry,
    for I am brought very low!
Deliver me from my persecutors,
    for they are too strong for me!
7 Bring me out of prison,
    that I may give thanks to your name!
The righteous will surround me,
    for you will deal bountifully with me.

This is actually a week ahead of March 15. To complain, not as much in the spotlight of today, and to say a week makes a new outlook.

This Is About The New Outlook!!!
Wait for this

God created the world in 6 days. And rested on the 7th. There is a lot to be said about rest.

We have been to Dallas 3 times lately. 18 hours in the car. Our violent and ill neighbor's side gate is damaged, to the chagrin of the repair men, quoting it and reminiscing about ill neighbors themselves. No one takes things as lightly as before the Pandemic.  Mother has had her insurance and 4 roof quotes. No one agrees. Then I remembered, needing another trip to Dallas, that roof damage can only be accessed from the attic. The next 2 men, I asked to start in the attic, find the minimal damage, easily. Pandemic.

A member of our family wants to marry someone who has asked for huge money, tried to drive a new Mercedes into Mexican Border states. Dumbfounded to find out car insurance would be cancelled if this is done.

This person is completely unpleasant and doesn't answer if you speak to this person. My extremely pleasant, usually easy - going, mother-in-law met this one and said, "Please, not that one." Has tried to dodge using their own family Texas residence and picked on the aging, attempting to have all their mail delivered to that aging person's address. Googles says... Om NO.  This unpleasant person moved in, went to a bar they contracted Covid from previously, and then spent, suddenly, 3 days with the elderly after having re-visited the same bar Covid past bring. Contracted Covid themselves, was tenderly nursed. Left forever after 4 days saying their parents wouldn't have room quarantined them!!!

And during the visit managed to P period O period someone easy to get a long with by their sheer bloody minded bad, sour behavior. Doesn't speak during holiday meals and rises at 1pm. What a charmer. The family has dubbed this person a nickname, Gran Torino. They speak of their intended, our family, like this: "Boring, doesn't tell about life with family, does the same things." And contributes to the family holiday by bringing a movie of adult child death. Laughing loudly.

When ALL this didn't work, asked for $700 in clothing, and being turned down, gritted their teeth didn't speak on a 2-day trip to Dallas, and on the way home demanded, demanded, demanded to oversee the control of a free house, and said they would manage the offspring in peace or ill will, unless given the authority.  Would you go to this wedding? Na.

Haven't met their family, ever, in these years and years, but our elderly Lexus was asked to be given to the sour person's sibling. For rent. Borrow. How would they return it? No plans made. No Car given. Would you go to this wedding? Three years to make conversation, then no reply will be given. The  victim, I mean, fiancé, family member, says this is a flaw from a sweet, loving heart. Being unable to explain their good nature. The intended moved to a state where a lot of pot is smoked. Obviously.  But they need some generous monthly cash donated.

Mother's house needed a 25 foot drainage ditch. Done. Yard work. Done. Flower bed fencing. Shedding tree, tree trimming, blowing, yard spring planting, windows, crawl under the beds and sofas to dust. ( This beautiful home was offered to the family member, but no reply was given.)

The upset of spring arriving, beauty and not the mood. Winter mood. The first time I've noticed how autumn like early spring can be. Orange.

Add this to going out to lunch and hearing all the problems discussed around your table. And realize, everyone is going through situations they never visualized in and of and as their own life.

Two of our cars quit running. 4 hours to 4 trips to mechanics, from being out of town with car trouble. All our tools have disappeared. 5 hammers and the 2 tool boxes are gone. Wallet with 4 sets of sunglasses gone.  Allergies. Headaches. Naps. Meds. Put in a new, added security system.  Tech arrives and this takes half a day.

The upset of spring arriving, beauty and not the mood. Winter mood.

And then

We prayed during all this. Edward started the coffee maker and it made an unusual noise. He stomped over to investigate and discovered... the coffee cup hadn't been added into the morning coffee routine. The undisclosed noise was.... a miracle. He added the coffee cup in, and voila, the morning catch and play with the delightful, gift of God Poodles, started up. Noise - unexplained, not a possible noise! Thank You, Father! Thank You, Jesus!

Edward had the opportunity to feel blessed and loved,
heard and treasured
by the Lord.
His Abba.

He won  2nd in the Doubles Disc Golf Tournament in alllll age groups. He went off to the next tournament and won 2nd place.

We drove hours 3 times, 18 hours.  Edward dug a 25-foot-long drainage ditch. I cleaned under beds and sofas.  I replanted and cleaned my mother's yard. I got past being cussed at by a relative. We met 10 people with the roof and found the minor cause. We hired new people. Forgave what was done.

And accomplished and went forth. Looking for the Lord's Favor.

And Spring Suddenly Looked Great! Thank You, LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!

Bring me out of prison,
    that I may give thanks to Your Name!
The righteous will surround me,
    for You will deal bountifully with me.

Yes, today is March 21, the first day of Spring
and this post is for the sadness of
the week surrounding March 15th

Luke 1

 16 And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God,
17 and he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah,
 to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,
 and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just,
to make ready for the Lord
a people prepared.

Matthew 19:26

Jesus looked at them and said,
"With man this is impossible,
but with God all things are possible."

1 Thessalonians 3:13

So that He may establish your hearts
 without blame in holiness before our God
and Father
at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints.

Psalm 51:10

Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Ezekiel 36:26

Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you;
 and I will remove the heart of stone
from your flesh
and give you a heart of flesh.

Deuteronomy 30:6

“Moreover the Lord your God will circumcise your heart
and the heart of your descendants,
to love the Lord your God
with all your heart and with all your soul,
so that you may live.

He's got the whole world in His Hands.
He's got the wind and the rain in his hands.

He's got the whole world in His Hands.
He's got the little tiny baby in His Hands.

He's got the whole world in His Hands.
He's got you and me, brother, in His Hands.

He's got the whole world in His Hands.
He's got you and me, sister, in His Hands.

He's got the whole world in His Hands.

He's got everybody here in His Hands.
He's got the whole world in His Hands.

Psalm 4 ~ Glad news of deliverance

Psalm 4

Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness!
    You have given me relief when I was in distress.
    Be gracious to me and hear my prayer!

2 O men, how long shall my honor be turned into shame?
    How long will you love vain words and seek after lies? Selah
3 But know that the Lord has set apart the godly for himself;
    the Lord hears when I call to him.

4 Be angry, and do not sin;
    ponder in your own hearts on your beds, and be silent. Selah
5 Offer right sacrifices,
    and put your trust in the Lord.

6 There are many who say, “Who will show us some good?
    Lift up the light of your face upon us, O Lord!”
7 You have put more joy in my heart
    than they have when their grain and wine abound.

8 In peace I will both lie down and sleep;
    for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

One of the reasons David is given glory from God, David's life explains the Messiah is not
an earthly king. Jesus was asked by John and James to do as Elijah did, and call down fire from Heaven to defeat enemies.  Jesus tells us He is a Light to the nations. Light of the world. Light of mankind.

And as David's life progresses, his kingdom is a glimpse we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

Psalm 40

I waited patiently for the Lord;
    he inclined to me and heard my cry.
He drew me up from the pit of destruction,
    out of the miry bog,
and set my feet upon a rock,
    making my steps secure.

He put a new song in my mouth,
    a song of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear,
    and put their trust in the Lord.

Blessed is the man who makes
    the Lord his trust,
who does not turn to the proud,
    to those who go astray after a lie!

You have multiplied, O Lord my God,
    your wondrous deeds and your thoughts toward us;
    none can compare with you!
I will proclaim and tell of them,
    yet they are more than can be told.

In sacrifice and offering you have not delighted,
    but you have given me an open ear.
Burnt offering and sin offering
    you have not required.

Then I said, “Behold, I have come;
    in the scroll of the book it is written of me:
I delight to do your will, O my God;
    your law is within my heart.”

I have told the glad news of deliverance
    in the great congregation;
behold, I have not restrained my lips,
    as you know, O Lord.

I have not hidden your deliverance within my heart;
    I have spoken of your faithfulness and your salvation;
I have not concealed your steadfast love and your faithfulness
    from the great congregation.

As for you, O Lord, you will not restrain
    your mercy from me;
your steadfast love and your faithfulness will
    ever preserve me!
For evils have encompassed me
    beyond number;
my iniquities have overtaken me,
    and I cannot see;
they are more than the hairs of my head;
    my heart fails me.

Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me!
    O Lord, make haste to help me!
Let those be put to shame and disappointed altogether
    who seek to snatch away my life;
let those be turned back and brought to dishonor
    who delight in my hurt!
Let those be appalled because of their shame
    who say to me, “Aha, Aha!”

But may all who seek you
    rejoice and be glad in you;
may those who love your salvation
    say continually, “Great is the Lord!”

As for me, I am poor and needy,
    but the Lord takes thought for me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
    do not delay, O my God

Rise

Matthew 27:63
 “Sir, we remember how that impostor said, while he was still alive,
‘After three days I will rise.’

Matthew 27:64
Therefore order the tomb to be made secure until the third day,
 lest his disciples go and steal him away
and tell the people,
‘He has risen from the dead,’
 and the last fraud will be worse than the first.”

Matthew 28:6
He is not here, for he has risen, as he said.
Come, see the place where he lay.

Matthew 28:7
Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead,
 and behold,
He is going before you to Galilee;
there you will see him.
See, I have told you.”

"Rise" is Personal, Truth and of God

Matthew 17:7
Jesus came and touched them, saying, “Rise, and have no fear.”

Matthew 9:5
For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk’?

Luke 17:19
And he said to him, “Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.”

John 11:23
Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”

Luke 7 we will all know.

13When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said, “Do not weep.”

14 Then He went up and touched the coffin, and those carrying it stood still. “Young man,”

 He said, “I tell you, rise up!”

15 And the dead man sat up and began to speak!

Then Jesus gave him back to his mother.

Abba, Father,

We pray for Your Willingness to Bless us
and
we will Rise to Your Way, Life and Truth.

We pray to rise to shine for Your Glory.

We pray to have Love Rise to lift the ones we Love to Your Plan and Path.

We pray for our Nation to Rise to Your Plan and Your Love in trusting You.

We pray for Your Word to Rise to heal in Your healing.

And we would cover ourselves in Your Blessings to be covered
in the Name of Jesus Christ,
Your Son.

Amen.

About Me

My photo
Email registry at bottom.! “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Men “moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
