What a week
Psalm 142
With my voice I cry out to the Lord;
with my voice I plead for mercy to the Lord.
2 I pour out my complaint before him;
I tell my trouble before him.
3 When my spirit faints within me,
you know my way!
In the path where I walk
they have hidden a trap for me.
4 Look to the right and see:
there is none who takes notice of me;
no refuge remains to me;
no one cares for my soul.
5 I cry to you, O Lord;
I say, “You are my refuge,
my portion in the land of the living.”
6 Attend to my cry,
for I am brought very low!
Deliver me from my persecutors,
for they are too strong for me!
7 Bring me out of prison,
that I may give thanks to your name!
The righteous will surround me,
for you will deal bountifully with me.
This is actually a week ahead of March 15. To complain, not as much in the spotlight of today, and to say a week makes a new outlook.
This Is About The New Outlook!!!
Wait for this
God created the world in 6 days. And rested on the 7th. There is a lot to be said about rest.
We have been to Dallas 3 times lately. 18 hours in the car. Our violent and ill neighbor's side gate is damaged, to the chagrin of the repair men, quoting it and reminiscing about ill neighbors themselves. No one takes things as lightly as before the Pandemic. Mother has had her insurance and 4 roof quotes. No one agrees. Then I remembered, needing another trip to Dallas, that roof damage can only be accessed from the attic. The next 2 men, I asked to start in the attic, find the minimal damage, easily. Pandemic.
A member of our family wants to marry someone who has asked for huge money, tried to drive a new Mercedes into Mexican Border states. Dumbfounded to find out car insurance would be cancelled if this is done.
This person is completely unpleasant and doesn't answer if you speak to this person. My extremely pleasant, usually easy - going, mother-in-law met this one and said, "Please, not that one." Has tried to dodge using their own family Texas residence and picked on the aging, attempting to have all their mail delivered to that aging person's address. Googles says... Om NO. This unpleasant person moved in, went to a bar they contracted Covid from previously, and then spent, suddenly, 3 days with the elderly after having re-visited the same bar Covid past bring. Contracted Covid themselves, was tenderly nursed. Left forever after 4 days saying their parents wouldn't have room quarantined them!!!
And during the visit managed to P period O period someone easy to get a long with by their sheer bloody minded bad, sour behavior. Doesn't speak during holiday meals and rises at 1pm. What a charmer. The family has dubbed this person a nickname, Gran Torino. They speak of their intended, our family, like this: "Boring, doesn't tell about life with family, does the same things." And contributes to the family holiday by bringing a movie of adult child death. Laughing loudly.
When ALL this didn't work, asked for $700 in clothing, and being turned down, gritted their teeth didn't speak on a 2-day trip to Dallas, and on the way home demanded, demanded, demanded to oversee the control of a free house, and said they would manage the offspring in peace or ill will, unless given the authority. Would you go to this wedding? Na.
Haven't met their family, ever, in these years and years, but our elderly Lexus was asked to be given to the sour person's sibling. For rent. Borrow. How would they return it? No plans made. No Car given. Would you go to this wedding? Three years to make conversation, then no reply will be given. The victim, I mean, fiancé, family member, says this is a flaw from a sweet, loving heart. Being unable to explain their good nature. The intended moved to a state where a lot of pot is smoked. Obviously. But they need some generous monthly cash donated.
Mother's house needed a 25 foot drainage ditch. Done. Yard work. Done. Flower bed fencing. Shedding tree, tree trimming, blowing, yard spring planting, windows, crawl under the beds and sofas to dust. ( This beautiful home was offered to the family member, but no reply was given.)
The upset of spring arriving, beauty and not the mood. Winter mood. The first time I've noticed how autumn like early spring can be. Orange.
Add this to going out to lunch and hearing all the problems discussed around your table. And realize, everyone is going through situations they never visualized in and of and as their own life.
Two of our cars quit running. 4 hours to 4 trips to mechanics, from being out of town with car trouble. All our tools have disappeared. 5 hammers and the 2 tool boxes are gone. Wallet with 4 sets of sunglasses gone. Allergies. Headaches. Naps. Meds. Put in a new, added security system. Tech arrives and this takes half a day.
The upset of spring arriving, beauty and not the mood. Winter mood.
And then
We prayed during all this. Edward started the coffee maker and it made an unusual noise. He stomped over to investigate and discovered... the coffee cup hadn't been added into the morning coffee routine. The undisclosed noise was.... a miracle. He added the coffee cup in, and voila, the morning catch and play with the delightful, gift of God Poodles, started up. Noise - unexplained, not a possible noise! Thank You, Father! Thank You, Jesus!
Edward had the opportunity to feel blessed and loved,
heard and treasured
by the Lord.
His Abba.
We drove hours 3 times, 18 hours. Edward dug a 25-foot-long drainage ditch. I cleaned under beds and sofas. I replanted and cleaned my mother's yard. I got past being cussed at by a relative. We met 10 people with the roof and found the minor cause. We hired new people. Forgave what was done.
And accomplished and went forth. Looking for the Lord's Favor.
And Spring Suddenly Looked Great! Thank You, LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!
Bring me out of prison,
that I may give thanks to Your Name!
The righteous will surround me,
for You will deal bountifully with me.
Yes, today is March 21, the first day of Spring
and this post is for the sadness of
the week surrounding March 15th
Luke 1
16 And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God,
17 and he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah,
to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,
and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just,
to make ready for the Lord
a people prepared.
Matthew 19:26
Jesus looked at them and said,
"With man this is impossible,
but with God all things are possible."
1 Thessalonians 3:13
So that He may establish your hearts
without blame in holiness before our God
and Father
at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints.
Psalm 51:10
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Ezekiel 36:26
Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you;
and I will remove the heart of stone
from your flesh
and give you a heart of flesh.
Deuteronomy 30:6
“Moreover the Lord your God will circumcise your heart
and the heart of your descendants,
to love the Lord your God
with all your heart and with all your soul,
so that you may live.
He's got the whole world in His Hands.
He's got the wind and the rain in his hands.
He's got the whole world in His Hands.
He's got the little tiny baby in His Hands.
He's got the whole world in His Hands.
He's got you and me, brother, in His Hands.
He's got the whole world in His Hands.
He's got you and me, sister, in His Hands.
He's got the whole world in His Hands.
He's got everybody here in His Hands.
He's got the whole world in His Hands.
