Romans 10:5-13 ~ in your heart

Romans 10:5-13

5 For Moses writes about the righteousness that is based on the law, that the person who does the commandments shall live by them.

6 But the righteousness based on faith says, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 “or ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).

8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim)

9 Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.”

12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek;
for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him.

13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Without Thee, Lord, all goodness seems to fail.
To alter fate is God's prerogative.
~ Michelangelo

In a time where Prayer is for all parts of life, we need to remember God's Policy on Prayer. God says here, all people are able to call on God. We should forgo fatalism. Let go of Charlie Brown. Let go of only Mother Theresa gets an answer. Let go of all the fish swim this way. Let go of feeling it's all hopeless.

To call on God is to be saved. Our righteousness is from God. God hears us as we ask Him with Heart and Love.

Luke 1: 77-79 ~ to shine on those Living

People were terrified during the Spanish Flu of 1918. Fifty Million, 50,000,000, Died.

 As a young High School student in Central Pennsylvania, I was shocked to hear there had been a pandemic in that century. Oral histories are important. Philadelphia had been a hot spot, Pennsylvania people didn't forget. We've talked about the famous girl twins. What we didn't say - people wondered if it was the Rapture. One baby twin in the pram was dead, the other baby alive. We discussed if there had been any good news in the Pandemic. So much of the military was employed due to World War I,  Boston Hospital was an open air, tent, hospital and had the best results.

Part of this would be due to a protocol Doctors have put in place in Emergency Rooms across the Nation. If the patient can truthfully have good news, the patient is going to be told the positive comments of the best news. Studies has proven if a professional medical person believes good results, then the patient will as well.

The Boston Hospital patients surely believed the dying would Not be propped up outside. The Power of Good News.

Optimism and Faith - create Life.

During Covid 19, sunlight and exercise has proven to highly boost immune systems. We are finding more people in Los Angeles, 5%, have had the Covid virus asymptomatically. I'd only vote to have Covid this way.

Medical Supplies were already gathered, preparing for a world at war in World War I. Medical staff and nurses worked to keep everyone sanitized and masked.  Because of the need of massive hospital beds, many military tents were used. Boston Hospital was an open air, tent, hospital and had the best results.

Quinine, which will cause bleeding, blood thinning and heart problems (should not be taken ever as a preventative) was part of the recovery efforts of the Spanish Flu.

Malaise was a great part of the Spanish Flu. Massive depression. Secondary Bacterial infections in an era of no antibiotics.

Luke 1: 77-79

To give his people the knowledge of salvation
through the forgiveness of their sins,

78 because of the tender mercy of our God,
by which the rising sun will visit us from heaven

79 to shine on those living
in darkness and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the path of peace.

John 1:4-5
In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

Matthew 17:2
And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light.

Isaiah 9:2
The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned.

Abba,

Your Mercies bring Joy every day. Today we understand even better, the Blessing in Numbers 6 Moses was asked to give to the Children of Israel. We pray Your Face to Shine upon us.

Jesus to shine in us, Living in us, The Beloved Children of God.

Bless the Hospital Staff giving lined up Parades to the Recovering Patients. So glad to hear the 26 year old Lacrosse young man received his Victory Parade as he Recovered.

Everyday His Mercies Renew in Jesus Christ, Live in us, Jesus! Amen.

Paul was known to raise his hand to the sky to pray for
the Beloved Children of God.

Psalm 34 ~ Magnify the Lord with me

When Edward and I were newlyweds, we bought a 1953 cottage near White Rock Lake in Dallas. It had the fifty year old furnace, all the original porcelain in the bathrooms, the original water heater, but as we lived in dust, we eventually discovered the pier and beam foundation never hooked up the return ducts for the Air Conditioning. We lived with the basement being dragged in. ... Eventually we learned the leaf blower was the way to tackle the problem with our wood floors. Pulling out the yellow pages under the sofa, was not longer a hairy experience.

Now we have tile, and two long haired hypo-allergenic Standard Poodles. And plenty of stay-at-home-Covid time. We've found this: if we take the leaf blower and allow it to up-gear and low-gear, we can clean out under all the beds, the sofa, the refrigerator (quit making an odd noise) and live in a temporary dust storm placing the dust in one corner for vacuuming everything and dusting ceiling to floor. The vacuum cleaner is then - filled. We could nicely, politely vacuum everything, but we'd have half the dust collected by the end of our cleaning regime. Blowing the dust out is like getting the carbon out of the engine every now and then! And it's faster than wiping down the stairs.

The Scriptures take this approach to telling about lives: We find Gideon explained carefully to the messenger of God about his belief in his lack of qualifications. Jesse, Father to David, explained to Samuel, who had traveled from Shiloh to Bethlehem to find the anointed of God among his eight sons, David wasn't worth his time. David's first wife did agree, opting to remain with royal King Saul. David, criminal to Israel then ran with mercenaries known to be malcontents and killers. Living in caves and ditches.

God fully believes in getting the dust out, as He tells His Story.

David was not in high cotton, he wasn't sitting in placid fields protecting the sheep he'd known all his life. He was not in the season of lambing the sheep. He had now placed his own family in safety and was doing mercenary pirate type raids.

Taking all the tools we are given to looking Up. To finding Joy.

Psalm 34

I will bless the Lord at all times;
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul makes its boast in the Lord;
let the humble hear and be glad.
3 Oh, magnify the Lord with me,
and let us exalt his name together!

4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to him are radiant,
and their faces shall never be ashamed.
6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him
and saved him out of all his troubles.

7 The angel of the Lord encamps
around those who fear him, and delivers them.

8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
9 Oh, fear the Lord, you his saints,
for those who fear him have no lack!
10 The young lions suffer want and hunger;
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.

11 Come, O children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

12 What man is there who desires life
and loves many days, that he may see good?

13 Keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from speaking deceit.
14 Turn away from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it.

15 The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous
and his ears toward their cry.
16 The face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
to cut off the memory of them from the earth.
17 When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears
and delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed in spirit.

19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
but the Lord delivers him out of them all.
20 He keeps all his bones;
not one of them is broken.
21 Affliction will slay the wicked,
and those who hate the righteous will be condemned.

22 The Lord redeems the life of his servants;
none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.

David is a great source for living an unexpected life and finding the Strength of God. Joy.

  1. Those who seek the Lord, lack no good thing.
  2.  By Blessing the Lord. We give the Lord thanks for what we can honestly give God, all our gifts are from God. We Bless God, verse 1, by giving sincere thanks. Sometimes the effort to find thanks can take half an hour. The relief is superb to find genuine thanks. Reversing anger, depression, low spirits. A new point of view can be as wonderful as an actual vacation.
  3. Apply All Things work, interweave, for good for those who Love the Lord and are called according to His Purpose.
  4. We then have to believe reverse circumstance, lousy fortune, plain angering misfortune might have a puzzle to solve. Something interesting to observe and learn. Turning life back into a journey of change with adaption away from fear.
  5. Believing God is really this Large. Creator of All Things. Calling all the stars by name and knowing the Names of the Heavenly Host. Capable and Worthy God.
What then shall we Fear?

Yar is the word used often regarding the Fear of the Lord. Reverence.  Boasting - being part of the Plan of God. David believed God was part of all of the 22 years of wretched misfortune. David believed even Angels would help him.

God tells us He planned to give us the 'work' to believe Jesus as God. David gives us an idea of this work.

Keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from speaking deceit.
14 Turn away from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it.

Finding the Joy, Finding the Blessing instead of the complaint.

What will we do if we feel so depleted, crushed, we find the work too difficult? Life does this. Never is the doctor less appealing than when we truly feel ill. During Covid 19, people report feeling ill and wrung out with fears of doom. Many in the medical community and a recent sampling of the population believe about 14% of the population is either recovering from Covid or asymptomatic.  Wrung down. Tired. One man who is totally recovered reports knowing to fight off the despair was life saving.

  1. The angel of the Lord encamps around those in fear calling on God.
  2.  Believing God is here for the long haul, He answers prayers.  Michelangelo believed to pray was to change the Book of Life. Believing God alters fate to Blessing from praying.
  3. Remember how Large God is. Capable. Merciful.
  4. A man in poor spirits cries, God Hears. Jesus tells us God is so aware even sparrows are within His caring range.
  5. It isn't the weak who feel starved in different aspects, God says Lions feel depleted as well.
  6. We mustn't feel God only answers the supremely righteous. God says we are all fallen and to ask Jesus is to have been Heard. Taking Jesus into our souls, reminding God to live in us, covers us in the Name of Jesus in the Heart of our Father God.
  7.  In Jesus we are the righteous God hears our afflictions. Afflictions is a deep word for a cry in our prayers.
  8. Redemption is a word of Joy. Happiness. Peace. Loved. The Lord will Redeem.

One of the wonders of our generation, life today: Two generations back, Israel had not existed in 2,000 years. When we casually fly in a plane and love to see the vistas, 3 generations back didn't ever see what we see easily. Aerial photos didn't exist. In my childhood, much of the Gospels were unproven historically. Vast archaeology has changed this in 30 years. Young people who watch old television programs are amazed at the understated and profound morals of old television. Yet to have lived during these generations, it was incredibly rude to ask what religious beliefs you held beyond your denomination - which wouldn't really change ever. We are people who worry about change, having lived through so much change. And yet, people today pray more than ever before.

God is Very Involved with us - today.

In the time of Jesus, there were Pharisees and Sadducees. Pharisees were very high and mighty when reaching the top of the scale. Jesus loved the humble man who prayed not feeling as if his life was so righteous God owed him anything. Jesus loved the Centurion who wouldn't have had a perfect life. Sadducees were willing to endlessly debate morality and God Himself, yet felt God was Deist and man would only become dust. Jesus is never recorded, like we did in the mid part of the last century, ask if someone was Pharisee, Sadducee or humble. Jesus asked us to Believe God and to include Him in ongoing conversational prayer. Jesus fully displayed He is a one to one Father to us. And this is Joy and Love and Expectation of God's Love and Mercies.

Abba,

You are for us Today.

The Life we lead in Jesus Christ places us on Your High Way. The hills and Highways of Heaven are our roads today in Jesus Christ.

I believe in the sun, even when it is not shining. I believe in love, even though I don't feel it. I believe in God, today, and will have the Road to Emmaus to Read Your Word.

The Road to Emmaus is On. We will do the work God has called for us.

And lift High the Name of Jesus. Believing in Your Willingness to Save the ones we Love. Redemption. Love. Joy. To find Heaven upon this earth doing Your Good Will.

Believing this Virus will end. Believing in Recovery. Believing in the goodness of the Light of Christ shining in the efforts of all Nations, all mankind to work to save one another. Believing in the number not readily broadcast of Recovered. Believing in the recorded percentage of Immunity granted in the Population. Seeing the young go out to work to make a path for the older to be safe. To see the diligence of the Nation to provide us with facts, care and honest hard work.

I believe in God's Blessings. We live them today.

In Jesus Christ, we will have Love, Joy, Strength and Peace. Amen and Amen.

Psalm 109:21-31 ~ For He stands at the right hand of the needy one

The Last Pieta carved by Michelangelo. Three drawings, not cartoons, were made of the Sculpture. The 3rd one was enacted upon. This statue was carved the last 6 days of Michelangelo's life.
A simple faith.

Psalm 109:21-31

21 But you, O God my Lord,
deal on my behalf for your name's sake;
because your steadfast love is good, deliver me!
22 For I am poor and needy,
and my heart is stricken within me.
23 I am gone like a shadow at evening;
I am shaken off like a locust.
24 My knees are weak through fasting;
my body has become gaunt, with no fat.
25 I am an object of scorn to my accusers;
when they see me, they wag their heads.

26 Help me, O Lord my God!
Save me according to your steadfast love!
27 Let them know that this is your hand;
you, O Lord, have done it!
28 Let them curse, but you will bless!
They arise and are put to shame, but your servant will be glad!
29 May my accusers be clothed with dishonor;
may they be wrapped in their own shame as in a cloak!

30 With my mouth I will give great thanks to the Lord;
I will praise him in the midst of the throng.
31 For he stands at the right hand of the needy one,
to save him from those who condemn his soul to death.

Prayer by Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni

Oh, make me see Thee, Lord, where'er I go!
If mortal beauty sets my soul on fire,
That flame when near to Thine must needs expire,
And I with love of only Thee shall glow.
Dear Lord, Thy help I seek against this woe,
These torments that my spirit vex and tire;
Thou only with new strength canst re-inspire
My will, my sense, my courage faint and low.
Thou gavest me on earth this soul divine;
And Thou within this body weak and frail
Didst prison it--how sadly there to live!
How can I make its lot less vile than mine?
Without Thee, Lord, all goodness seems to fail.
To alter fate is God's prerogative.

When we begin the Gospels, we find God only works with the frailty of human life. The wise men didn't always know where to find Jesus.

The Disciples didn't always want to be found near Jesus.

And Michelangelo became known to the Vatican trying to pass the sale of his statues being of antiquity. The Vatican wisely knew the statue was not ancient and instead took up Michelangelo. Michelangelo began the deceptive sale because he was pressed with political upheaval with his world in Florence and by his patrons the Medici. Eventually, Michelangelo would return to Florence to try to help them, only to return again to his ongoing 40 years on the works of God.

If Michelangelo had given up hope, if he had not pressed on in hopeless times, his full life would never have emerged.

God welcomes our prayers. The Gates of Heaven, where Peter is given the key, are always open. Peter has learned a thing or two, living with Jesus Christ.

Luke 11
5 And he said to them, “Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves, 6 for a friend of mine has arrived on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; 7 and he will answer from within, ‘Do not bother me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I cannot get up and give you anything’? 8 I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his impudence he will rise and give him whatever he needs. 9 And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

The prayer not to be forgotten does seem pretty impudent. Until we realize Jacob Astley, gave this as his battle-prayer at the Battle of Edgehill.

We are all in a battle of sorts. And to live with faith, hope and Love is a daily choice. The prayer isn't impudent and is the ongoing life we all have.

Abba,

Live in my soul, help this to be a favorite place of Yours. Allow me this day to see the Blessings You've given.

Dwell in those I love, that we will encourage each other. During this time of good news, worry, speculation, boredom and fear, help us to chose the Good Portion to hold on to Your Love.

To rest and find comfort in the morning. To find renewal during the day. To be at peace in the evenings. To comfort and help those You've Given me. To strengthen me with Your Wisdom and Love.

The Blessing of seeking You and Your Kingdom first. To Live in Love, Peace and Joy.

This day traveling the High Ways of Heaven.

Psalm 124 ~ the Lord Who was on our side

Psalm 124

A Song of Ascents. Of David.

If it had not been the Lord who was on our side—
let Israel now say—
2 if it had not been the Lord who was on our side
when people rose up against us,
3 then they would have swallowed us up alive,
when their anger was kindled against us;
4 then the flood would have swept us away,
the torrent would have gone over us;
5 then over us would have gone
the raging waters.

6 Blessed be the Lord,
who has not given us
as prey to their teeth!
7 We have escaped like a bird
from the snare of the fowlers;
the snare is broken,
and we have escaped!

8 Our help is in the name of the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.

Here we are back in our homes. And in Holy Week, we saw the peak flatten for the first time.

And in Easter Week, we saw National plans forming for States to begin our Recovery.

We are far above the stated loss of millions of people.

Our Father God Loves us. Our Father God hears our prayers.

Jesus told us how...

I've included the photo as something to think about
during stay at home.

When we concentrate on saying the Lord's Prayer, we can change just about any vapor of fleeting discouragement. And when this doesn't happen, God is going with us in all Circumstances.
Usually, The Lord's Prayer is a Light.

The Gospels do not include, "For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever." This refers to Revelation 1 and Revelation 6. The people of God were so encouraged to read John, suddenly one Sunday, John was suddenly sitting in the forever Home and Kingdom with Jesus. And returning to tell us about seeing John's, and our, wonderful Jesus. When we say the Lord's Prayer and we say, "Hallowed be Thy Name",  remember Jesus was being present in the moment. The Hallowed or Holy Name is Jesus. Life after death and back again.

Prayer is not systematic. Anything we tell Jesus relies on Jesus. Abraham had a lot of faults just being Abraham, and God credited his faith as righteousness. To have a simple faith is more than pleasing to God.

Abba,

We simply tell You, thank You for delivering us from being surrounded by Death.

This could have been something terrible we never recover from.

In the Hope and Joy of the quick response from this savage Virus, with 5 promising vaccines, we Thank You for Your Mercy.

Thanking You we did not see our young generation die or have crippling injuries. We Thank You for seeing the end of this virus. We have overcome our fear of death for ourselves, our loved ones, the people who are older, but we are seeing the fright of income recovery.

Abba, to be in need is frightening. And one boy brought you two loaves and five fish.

And The People of God were satisfied.
With 12 Baskets left over.

We are the people of God. His Beloved. He has seen us through, we will Pray with Hope.
Having Expectation of God's Provision. Daily.

O Israel, hope in the LORD! For with the LORD there is steadfast love, and with him is plentiful redemption.

He has sent redemption to His people; He has ordained His covenant forever; holy and awesome is His name.

O Israel, put your hope in the LORD, both now and forevermore.

I call this to mind, and therefore I have hope.

In Jesus the Christ of God, our own Jesus, Amen.

Email registry at bottom.! “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Men “moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
