1 Corinthians 13 ~ Love is patient, love is kind
1 Corinthians 13
If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love,
I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
For we know in part
and we prophesy in part,
but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.
For now, we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.
Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is

During this vexing, worrisome and boring year, with murder hornets and shark attacks on the east coast and Australia - where in Texas we are discussing 2 Hurricanes historically together. Maybe we need to look up to the skies and see as we did when we noticed the skies were blue again.
In fact, as I was putting this Post together - everyone seemed to be thinking together. How Supremely Lovely. Like Love. God is Love.
We applauded the First Responders. We protested peacefully. We heard the fierce and frightening reports of finances. We grew frustrated and overwhelmed. And the world gathered in awe to dream of more. More equality. More Love.
And suddenly we were appalled and horrified for the loss of dreams and the outbreak of violence. And found we were walking in the steps, Chapter and Verse of Exodus. Even the hornets. Love tells us this will calm down, let's not fail to dream of God's Actions Giving us New Opportunities for Change and Strength and Hope.
The thought going around inside me is from the art.
The art isn't for everyone, we all see within us differently, yet this art inspired me.
We have barely watched for goodness lately. We are stuffed into the moment. And yet feel mostly -not sullen - , mostly the desire to see those we love and are not seeing as often. We take chances with our health, seeing those we love. We hopefully feel empowered and not reckless. We still know twe have all been brave and see the outrageous in the news.
Instead, let's find the Steadfast Love - we truly are.
And thinking about who we are to the Lord God Almighty, our Father God, feel astonished to realize the Almighty upholding the Universe with His Word.
These are the ideas I find His Children sharing:

Imagine the Luke 2
8 And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. 10 And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
12 And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”

God Himself - trusted, entrusted, had faith to bring, believed - to give us His Son. A child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. And this day Angels, who stand in the presence of God Himself, arrived in Israel and came to the field where Jesus would arrive as Light of the world.
And Behold, the immortals of God would see God's Banner over His Word.

13 Therefore, preparing your minds for action,
and being sober-minded,

As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ways.

We pray for You to dwell within us in the Holy Spirit.
And, importantly, we pray for love to bloom in all lives to fill us
to keep us safe from the evil of being only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
We are asking for the gift of sharing what we have.
Letting Love be nourished. For all the world You have given Your Son to save.
We pray Angels long to look to find us giving Love.
Resolutely giving thanks this Election would produce ending divisions,
We pray for a good framework for God's Love. Your Blessings.

1 Corinthians 15:51-57
Behold! I tell you a mystery.
We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.
When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”

11 We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians. Our hearts are open wide. 12 It is not our affection, but yours that is restrained.
More than admonition, 1 Corinthians 13 shoots straight into us as open hearts, unites us driving our internal fire into effective lives. Rising above being a noisy gong or cymbal (symbol).
As I considered the Rapture, the radio sang about Rising Up. Together. Rising Together. Plunk - into my thoughts - the idea - why God would choose the Rapture. All the Victories of 2020. Car Parades and Boat Parades. Jesus explained the Rapture saying,
"Would the Son of Man, on His Return, find Faith on earth?
Wouldn't you say, with me, the possibility the Rapture is God's Parade of Open Hearts?
The Parade for: Instead of One Mile, Two Miles. Twain miles, if compassionate. I firmly believe this is not the season of Tribulation. In Faith. Jesus said we are fully able in His Word to see the season as clearly as the Fig Leaf. Summer. The Summer no one went to weddings, is not the season of given in marriage and no one understands.
God's Goal is always to save the entire world in Jesus Christ His Son. Wouldn't God send the faithless another witness with the world's most exotic, far-flung, unique, irreplaceable for RSVP, Act of GOD witness to His Son Jesus, His Kingdom, His Power and His Glory. With just a Bob Uecker sprinkle of Social Distancing from the unredeemed. The Thought gave me Joy.
This idea would be the Saints of God who go out of their way to make sure Heaven arrives daily.

The Saintly Path of adding to each other, in Faith.
Saintly, a kind soul makes sure your Android Phone picks up the evening program of the Church outside on the Fairway. Would explain kindly, in an Australian accent, as your dogs barked themselves joyously silly, the smaller one ate the entire Croissant. Would provide whipped cream for the loud, happy things, twice. Drops in, make sure you are hugged a dozen times even after a minor fuss up. Buys dinner, too. Almost sing with Joy, create Joy, from Dallas, to share in the goodness of long-time held family antiques. The neighbor who fenced your mother's shared backyard for free, because he knows how to fence and wanted to. Would get up at 4:30 in the morning to load his two brothers things in the truck, unasked (Edward). Would be the friend to go with you 12 hours in the truck. And bring cables and blankets and cheerful-know- how. And to remember to take a photo to text to the wife. Would be One who reminded you to find Joy. Comfort tears on the phone. And call back later. Brings you Communion and Rite One, and your long time friend, to look at your Air Condition. Would be the mechanic honest and kindly to tell you your car might have registered not firing and stalling, but now is fixed for no reason - and not charge you. And praise God with you suddenly the air conditioner is working.

To have a conversation with someone who reveals how much life has hurt.
To learn to put aside the two dozen deliberately hurtful things this week. Forgiving those who want to shock and dampen down life. Forgive this happens to us all in manners, leaving us breathless. To soberly and with intent, deal with life in honest understanding of evil, accidental, sorry state, forgiveness state and find what makes Life Joyous to Jesus Christ.
The Joy of the Lord is our Strength.
We, who act to bring Heaven to others. We, who dampen down the hardship to bring Light. Imperfectly, yet pleasing to God of All, Creator of All Things. We, who pray not to be a gong, cymbal or symbol. We, who believe in the Mercy of Jesus Christ.

Abba, we pray knowing the Gulf of Mexico has two storms, they will weaken
and not cause the same people damage. We ask in the Name of Jesus.

A timely prayer for peace and unity in the United States, the end of division.
God of endurance and encouragement grant us harmony
With one another in Christ Jesus, so that with one mind and one voice we may

This prayer seems beyond wise Capability. And yet,
we all know, deep within us this is entirely possible.

After this Jesus went about in Galilee. He would not go about in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill him.
2 Now the Jews' Feast of Booths was at hand. 3 So his brothers said to him, “Leave here and go to Judea, that your disciples also may see the works you are doing. 4 For no one works in secret if he seeks to be known openly. If you do these things, show yourself to the world.” 5 For not even his brothers believed in him.
6 Jesus said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always here. 7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify about it that its works are evil. 8 You go up to the feast. I am not going up to this feast, for my time has not yet fully come.” 9 After saying this, he remained in Galilee.
10 But after his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he also went up, not publicly but in private.
11 The Jews were looking for him at the feast, and saying, “Where is he?” 12 And there was much muttering about him among the people. While some said, “He is a good man,” others said, “No, he is leading the people astray.” 13 Yet for fear of the Jews no one spoke openly of him.
14 About the middle of the feast Jesus went up into the temple and began teaching. 15 The Jews therefore marveled, saying, “How is it that this man has learning, when he has never studied?”
16 So Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me. 17 If anyone's will is to do God's will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority. 18 The one who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood. 19 Has not Moses given you the law? Yet none of you keeps the law. Why do you seek to kill me?”
20 The crowd answered, “You have a demon! Who is seeking to kill you?”
21 Jesus answered them, “I did one work, and you all marvel at it. 22 Moses gave you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath. 23 If on the Sabbath a man receives circumcision, so that the law of Moses may not be broken, are you angry with me because on the Sabbath I made a man's whole body well?
24 Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.”

Jesus was known to deal with Political Times.
He turned down meeting Herod with a smile and wave. And as Jesus, an astute comment. Jesus being God could always solve a difficulty. When a man loves the Lord, He makes even His enemies to be at peace with Him.
God decided to allow us to have His Trust.
One can't very well say, as God, that Life is Joy if one doesn't go through life as we do.
Jesus fought in unfair circumstances. Jesus fought people He wanted support from. Jesus fought with all the tools at hand to do what He knew to be God's Will.
Jesus placed His Gaze on God and felt what circumstances man could create, God would be God. John 7 is memorable, we sometimes feel we don't have all the quivers in the arrow hold as we need for the circumstance. God seems to provide well for His Son.
When the compass is muddy. When the situation and people aren't your foe. When the comments are not agreeable. Direction and Joy can be found. The Scriptures are real.
We wonder about the Ark. The Mercy Seat of God with so many amazing miracles. Placed behind the Curtain. God, Himself, described the Curtain to His People. Jesus apparently draws from this idea in John 7. God as Father trusts us.
God did not use being subtle as an excuse for evil. Jesus was more about the spark plug removal in the face of Nazi upheaval. And Jesus knew when to bring down the curtain.

A fellow was stuck on his rooftop in a flood. He was praying to God for help.
Soon a man in a Jeep came by and the fellow shouted to the man on the roof, "Jump in, I can save you."
The stranded fellow shouted back, "No, it's OK, I'm praying to God and he is going to save me."
So the Jeep went on.
Then a motorboat came by. "The fellow in the motorboat shouted, "Jump in, I can save you."
To this the stranded man said, "No thanks, I'm praying to God and he is going to save me. I have faith."
So the motorboat went on.
Then a helicopter came by and the pilot shouted down, "Grab this rope and I will lift you to safety."
To this the stranded man again replied, "No thanks, I'm praying to God and he is going to save me. I have faith."
So the helicopter reluctantly flew away.
Soon the water rose above the rooftop and the man drowned. He went to Heaven. He finally got his chance to discuss this whole situation with God, at which point he exclaimed, "I had faith in you but you didn't save me, you let me drown. I don't understand why!"
To this God replied, "I sent you a Jeep and a motorboat and a helicopter, what more did you expect?"
Abba, For every time there is a season under Heaven. In the French Revolution, statues were destroyed, then people. Usually it's the people who more or less agreed with the riots, who should have been UPSET, that go dooown first. Sometimes this is surprising, but not if you read Scriptures.
Opposing violence is the seeking Justice God declares is Good.
