Psalm 108 ~ Your Right Hand

Psalm 108

My heart is steadfast, O God!

I will sing and make melody with all my being!

2 Awake, O harp and lyre!

I will awake the dawn!

3 I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the peoples;

I will sing praises to You among the nations.

4 For Your steadfast Love is great above the Heavens;

Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

5 Be exalted, O God, above the Heavens!

Let Your Glory be over all the earth!

That Your beloved ones 

may be delivered,

give salvation by Your Right Hand 

and answer me!

7 God has promised in His Holiness:

“With exultation I will divide up Shechem

and portion out the Valley of Succoth.

8 Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine;

Ephraim is my helmet,

Judah my scepter.

9 Moab is my washbasin;

upon Edom I cast my shoe;

over Philistia I shout in triumph.”

10 Who will bring me to the fortified city?

Who will lead me to Edom?

11 Have You not rejected us, O God?

You do not go out, O God, with our armies.

12 Oh grant us help against the foe,

for vain is the salvation of man!

With God

we shall do valiantly;

it is He

Who will tread down our foes.

We give great thanks and blessings for the family of God willing to devote time to deliver us from evil.

The family of God isn't just the people wanting to take in 400,000 Foster Children.  Or the 22,000 annual babies left behind at the hospital.

This is finding family and being family.  In our area, a baby boy was left at the fire station. And instead of upset and rude comments, the community praised the parent or parents for giving the small baby a chance at Life.  The local paper gave ongoing news about the adoption and the boy's first birthday party.  The parent was anonymous and celebrated as a Home Town Hero.

We had a group of great young women in college.  One parent's weekend, it became noticeable the niece, of one of us, age 9, was being pursued by the sister's boyfriend.  He couldn't quit touching her. Creep and Creepy.  We made a plan to ask about ponytails and found he had been molesting her. Confrontation.  Mom wanted to keep the vulgar, horrid, ew.  Another Confrontation.  Grandparents Stepped Up.  Police were notified.  Mother was told about the reality she didn't want to accept.  

Friends of friends in college, they couldn't believe we had the nerve to speak up and act quickly.   The gross boyfriend was a weekend, carnival, part-time employee.  Something he did not mention until he was cornered by the young women and the grandparents. 

See something, say something, take in the one in need. 

Abba, Father,

Who Redeems 

your life from the pit

and
