that as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God,
just as you are doing,
that you do so more and more.
2 For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus.
2 For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus.
3 For this is the will of God,
your sanctification:
That you abstain from sexual immorality;
4 that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor,
5 not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God;
6 that no one transgress and wrong his brother in this matter, because
your sanctification:
That you abstain from sexual immorality;
4 that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor,
5 not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God;
6 that no one transgress and wrong his brother in this matter, because
the Lord is an avenger in all these things,
as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you.
7 For God has not called us for impurity, but in holiness.
8 Therefore, whoever disregards this, disregards not man but God,
7 For God has not called us for impurity, but in holiness.
8 Therefore, whoever disregards this, disregards not man but God,
Who gives His Holy Spirit to you.
Now,
Now,
concerning brotherly love,
you have no need for anyone to write to you,
for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another,
10 for that indeed is what you are doing
to all the brothers throughout Macedonia.
But we urge you, brothers, to do this more and more,
and to aspire to live quietly,
and to mind your own affairs,
and to work with your hands, as we instructed you,
so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one.
13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.
15 For this we declare to you by a Word from the Lord,
that we who are alive,
who are left until the coming of the Lord,
and to aspire to live quietly,
and to mind your own affairs,
and to work with your hands, as we instructed you,
so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one.
13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.
15 For this we declare to you by a Word from the Lord,
that we who are alive,
who are left until the coming of the Lord,
will not precede those who have fallen asleep.
For the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven
For the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven
With a cry of command,
With the Voice of an archangel,
and
With the Sound of the Trumpet of God.
And the dead in Christ will rise first.
And the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.
Matthew 3:11-12
I baptize you with water for repentance, but
He Who is coming after me is mightier than I,
Whose sandals I am not worthy to carry.
He will baptize you
with the Holy Spirit
and
Fire.
12 His winnowing fork is in His Hand, and He will clear His threshing floor and gather His Wheat into the barn,
but the chaff,
He will burn with unquenchable fire.
Jesus told us there is a Kingdom of Heaven and of hell. Wheat is used as an example of this. The chaff surrounding the grain is tossed in the air. The Wind, or Holy Spirit, carries what is to be burned, the chaff, away.
This was done in a circle. On a Threshing Floor for more accuracy in keeping more wheat.
We are all going in the same direction - to Jesus. Only Father God will decide if we have obtained the Salvation of Jesus in our beliefs, words and actions. Even demons believe. James 2:19
Romans 9:16
It does not,
therefore,
depend on human desire or effort,
but
on
God's mercy.
Nehemiah 8:1-12
(Revised Standard Edition)
[1] And all the people gathered as one man into the square before the Water Gate; and they told Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses which the LORD had given to Israel. [2] And Ezra the priest brought the law before the assembly, both men and women and all who could hear with understanding, on the first day of the seventh month. [3] And he read from it facing the square before the Water Gate from early morning until midday, in the presence of the men and the women and those who could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive to the book of the law. [4] And Ezra the scribe stood on a wooden pulpit which they had made for the purpose; and beside him stood Mattithi'ah, Shema, Anai'ah, Uri'ah, Hilki'ah, and Ma-asei'ah on his right hand; and Pedai'ah, Mish'a-el, Malchi'jah, Hashum, Hash-bad'danah, Zechari'ah, and Meshul'lam on his left hand. [5] And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people, for he was above all the people; and when he opened it all the people stood. [6] And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God; and all the people answered, "Amen, Amen," lifting up their hands; and they bowed their heads and worshiped the LORD with their faces to the ground. [7] Also Jesh'ua, Bani, Sherebi'ah, Jamin, Akkub, Shab'bethai, Hodi'ah, Ma-asei'ah, Keli'ta, Azari'ah, Jo'zabad, Hanan, Pelai'ah, the Levites, helped the people to understand the law, while the people remained in their places. [8] And they read from the book, from the law of God, clearly; and they gave the sense, so that the people understood the reading.
And Nehemi'ah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people,

And Nehemi'ah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people,
"This day is holy to the LORD your God; do not mourn or weep."
For all the people wept when they heard the words of the law.
[10] Then he said to them,
[10] Then he said to them,
"Go your way, eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord;
and do not be grieved,
for the joy of the LORD is your strength."
[11] So the Levites stilled all the people, saying, "Be quiet, for this day is holy; do not be grieved." [12] And all the people went their way to eat and drink and to send portions
and to make great rejoicing,
because they had understood
the Words
that were
declared to them.
John 21
6 He said,
“Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.”
When they did,
they were unable to haul the net in
because
of the
large number of fish.
7 Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter,
7 Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter,
“It is the Lord!”
As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, “It is the Lord,”
he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken it off)
and
jumped into the water.
