1 Timothy 6:2-8, 18-20 ~ serve ALL the better!

1 Timothy 6:2-8, 18-20

Rather they must serve all the better since those who benefit by their good service are believers and beloved. Teach and urge these things.

3 If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, 4 he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, 5 and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain. 

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. 8 But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. 

God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. 

18 They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, 19 thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.

20 O Timothy, guard the deposit entrusted to you.

And then suddenly, love reaches up, grabs you and brightens your world forever.

A day remembered to grace your life. My mother went up to Celina, Texas, to see her uncle Allen, who was passing away.  She wanted to gather, he had graced her life and she would want him to know.  As she went in, this tall, broad-shouldered 94-year-old greeted her by name and told her today would be beautiful.  And she put down her flowers to gather her emotions, this was a hospice.  He covered for her and said today he would be in Heaven and he was so looking forward to see and be with his mother, Julia. My mother's grandmother.  His favorite day on earth was his mother's birthday, the year he was 6 years old. He had worked and worked on her birthday gift and she said the gift had made this her best ever birthday.  My mother witnessed profound joy all over the kind man's face. 

And this week we were again in Independence, Texas to visit the Antique Rose Emporium outside of Bremond, Texas. This nursery is beautiful and this is the unique place where Pioneer Roses are durable, fragrant and discovered all over, but had originated in the county of Washington Co, Texas.  We took our dogs and met a local lady and her friend, they stopped to visit with us and the dogs. 

This lovely woman said she so wanted a dog, but being in her 80s, she declined to prevent pain to a dog, having his owner pass away. As we shopped, I ran into them again, I said, You are so spry. I think you should have a dog!  And she laughed, and replied she hadn't finished the story. Her son had found a lovely puppy and called, sent her a text, the small puppy had wandered up into his business. Her son went on to promise he would take the dog to his home if she were to pass away. This lady looked as if this would be the furthest thing from happening, but now the dog is 7 months old and the delight of her life. One of her best dogs yet, and she has always been a dog person.

Then her face grew warm and loving with remembrance. Her son had called her and asked her what she would name the pup.  And as they spoke, she saw what love the dog had for her, and she knew the dog's name. Her mother's name. An old-fashioned name, one you would not know, but a beautiful hyphenated name.  And saying the name, she had warm and happy tears in her eyes.  She said her son had approved because she said she wanted to hear her mother's name spoken around her for her last years. Because. You see, she longed to see her perfect mother again. It was the thought that brought her such joy each day as she aged towards Heaven.

This is so tender, today, it has provided me joy; I will remember all my days as well.  Her son lives locally and this has brought her mother's name and memories back all over. 

We can spread this Love!

Billy Graham said the Love of Jesus Christ is so bright that after 2 thousand years, we can extinguish every light in a football stadium, light one candle, and everyone in the packed stadium can see The Candle Representing Jesus Christ.

Lives changed.

If you can have the room for another dog or cat, especially if you could adopt two together, the lady in Washington County, Texas, has always had 2 until being 85 years old, because it is such a lovely life to have 2.

We actually picked our 2 orange cats from the photos, went in to Petsmart in Shenandoah, saw them behind the glass and stayed with the lovies we have today.

Two is better. More exercise, more entertainment, more snuggles to see, and when away from home, no guilties. More Joy for ALL!

Abba, Father,

Who redeems your life 

from the pit

and 

crowns you 

with love and compassion

Father,

we ask for the Holy Spirit

to dwell first in our lives,

and 

ask Your mercy and grace

upon us who ask

for Your Love and Favor

in Jesus Christ's

Holy Spirit.

Dwell in me,

Dwell in us,

Dwell in those we Love,

Help us to seek You first.

And we will finish well, in Jesus Christ. 

With Your Help, 

evidence unseen, 

we believe Jesus walks on water.

better weather.

Rain shared instead of flood.

Removing drought.

Texas is very dry recently.

More for us all, praying for rain! Father!

Warmth shared

instead of unusual cold

storms.

Thank You, Father.

Prayer does work,
