Psalm 37:1-18
Of David.
Fret not yourself because of evildoers;
be not envious of wrongdoers!
2 For they will soon fade like the grass
and wither like the green herb.
3 Trust in the Lord, and do good;
dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.
4 Delight yourself in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him, and he will act.
6 He will bring forth your righteousness as the light,
and your justice as the noonday.
7 Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him;
fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way,
over the man who carries out evil devices!
8 Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath!
Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.
9 For the evildoers shall be cut off,
but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land.
10 In just a little while, the wicked will be no more;
though you look carefully at his place, he will not be there.
11 But the meek shall inherit the land
and delight themselves in abundant peace.
12 The wicked plots against the righteous
and gnashes his teeth at him,
13 but the Lord laughs at the wicked,
for he sees that his day is coming.
14 The wicked draw the sword and bend their bows
to bring down the poor and needy,
to slay those whose way is upright;
15 their sword shall enter their own heart,
and their bows shall be broken.
16 Better is the little that the righteous has
than the abundance of many wicked.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
but the Lord upholds the righteous.
18 The Lord knows the days of the blameless,
and their heritage will remain forever
We had a very emotional, almost trampoline like, day today. Edward had his 2nd Retina detach and the first good surgeon helped us, with his co surgeons, find another good Surgeon for today. Up again at 5 AM to drive into the Medical District. A good cup of coffee and a view of the houses being built in the Medical District and the old and fine architecture.
Edward has handled the surgeries well. Except for a bad case of exceedingly grumpy nerves on Tuesday. And this time had a local and was alert all day. And he won't have to put his face to the floor this time, because the eye being fixed is the southern part. He merely needs to be in reading position for 2 weeks, but the slower oil will make his vision blurry for a couple of months.
And the elevation will delay us seeing our first grandchild, although Alexander is planning for us to come in Autumn, he plans to arrive in Texas for the Holidays.
But in the trampoline of waiting in the pre-op with Edward and waiting during the surgery, it is just fraught with the need to be occupied and thinking of new ideas.
When President Trump was in office the first time, most of the Netflix and Amazon were not so odd. Then the Biden years brought so much for so many to dislike. Then, college-aged viewers began asking for entertainment not as horrid as the revisions for "Bridgerton" Best Selling Books.
Finally, the trend is being made by "The Other Bennet Sister." Jane Austin would be flat out thrilled.
Wouldn't it be great if there is a way to contribute?
Julian Fellows has retired from the UK Parliament.
More Downton Abbey, please.
Now is the time. The UK had to have the public have a very large protest because 7,000 UK Jews have been attacked by Starmer letting in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. The Huge UK protest called upon Starmer to stop the Jews from being killed and harmed. The UK Neighbors stood yelling out the names of their friends and neighbors. And yelling for Starmer to do something. Which is odd as hell when Starmer's wife and sons are good practicing Jews. Finally, relief from the Protest of Good People.
Julian Fellows wife is Jewish as well.
If Julian Fellows
would do a
Downton Abbey
would do a

and helping the Jews settle safely as well as the London children.
We would love this!
Elizabeth tells her father about her engagement to Mr. Darcy, Mr. Bennet expresses disbelief anyone could ever deserve her, followed by his deeply emotional consent. Sutherland is absolutely perfect as Mr. Henry Bennet.
His teary eyes and choked-up emotions perfectly blend his own charm with Bennet's character's dry wit, making memories of a heartbreakingly tender father-daughter hopes and dreams. "I cannot believe that anyone can deserve you... But it appears I am overruled. I could not have parted with you, my Lizzy, to anyone less worthy."
And if wonderful if Keifer Sutherland
would fill the Bennet Father, Henry
Pride and Prejudice
A Death at Longbourn
In the typical chaos of the Bennet family, the daughters hear of the passing of Mr. Henry Bennet from their neighbor Sir William Lucas by way of the Longbourn servant, Mrs. Hill. Mrs. Hill was calling for Mr. Jones, the apothecary and physician, to tend to the deceased. Mr. Jones had been attending Lady Lucas.
As the daughters and families hurry to Longbourn, discussing Mr Collins moving to Longbourn with his wife, Charlotte, nee Lucas. The sorrow of the loss to Mrs. Bennet.
As they arrive, they find Mr. Hill and Mrs. Hill are unglued. Running back and forth without any direction or plans for the deceased, Mr Henry Bennet. The women are sharing their sorrows for their father's passing, knowing their mother is in her room. They begin to discuss the arrangements for their father to take hold of the situation
And in walks Mr. Henry Bennet, standing listening to their laments. For... him. He waits for the women to put down the emotional hysteria and to come to their common sense. And he waits. In sorrow.
Eventually, Jane notices her father and Lydia begins a banshee scream. No one is Dead, what is wrong with Sir Lucas?
Mr Bennet
finds himself sadly a widower and suddenly Life is an Adventure. No one expects Lady Catherine de Bourgh, not in their realm, and especially because Mrs Bennet has died from yelling for Hill and falling over the stair railing. Miss Anne de Bourgh has died, expected, but the time frame is the end of Elizabeth's Great Aunt-in-Law.
Jane invites her family, and we hear Caroline Bingley is arriving. Because Lady Catherine de Bourgh is coming with Mr. Collins to promote his inheritance of Longbourn sooner now that the lady of the house is deceased.
Lady Caroline Bingley is bringing a near cousin, Elizabeth Elliott, who is also hoping to visit with her near family, Lady Catherine De Bourgh. Lady Lucas is adding in people from Austen as well.
Jane is quite glad that Mr. Darcy has made so very many, many improvements to Longbourn and is bringing servants for the funeral. As will Lizzy.
Lady Catherine de Bough is bringing Rev Edward Ferrars in an attempt to move Mr. Collins on. Lady Russell is bringing her family from their visit from Admiral Croft and all of the family.
Upon arrival, Lady Catherine De Bough is not quite herself. She has realized she is alone without Anne and the family is displeased with her. She has fallen so far, she is now only the pawn master of local clergy. And as she arrives, she is taken with the Livery of Longbourn. In her state, she does not recognize that this help is borrowed but now sees Longbourn is gleaming as never before. And she sees the widower captivating the Darcys, the Fitzwilliams, and the perpetual Caroline Bingley is even being attentive. In fact, the Admiral is admiring Elizabeth's father. Lord Lucas is saying Bennet has developed a new wool, and the Crown is bestowing a Knighthood on Mr Bennet. The wool is an Empire phenomenon, and the Crown is positively going to visit Longbourn. Hence, the reason Mrs Fanny Bennet fell over the staircase, yelling for Hill.
Suddenly, the handsome Miss Anne Elliott has her hands on The Prize. This is not to be. Lady Catherine de Bourgh is going to visit the nice woods with Mr. Sir Lord Bennet directly. Suddenly, Caroline Bingley is aware of the matches Sir Bennet has had the wise ability to make for these unworthy daughters. The man is acknowledged by the Crown, for God's Sake. And Sir Soon to Be Bennet is now leading a gaggle of very well-supplied women. In fact, a bounty or a gaggle, rightly determined to be a flock of the well-funded.
Mr Bennet has realized a new thing has occurred. And offers are made to the handsome Lord Bennet to assist wool production with new little lambs and many Rams.
The daughters are all taken aback to rare shock and silence.
Caroline Bingley is WINNING! Time for the solicitous and kind Caroline to emerge.
If only we could all participate with the goodness of entertainment like "The Other Bennet Sister" is providing so well and so much fun! Austen would be making so many more joys for our lives. The 7 Miracles of Life Very Well Lived.
Joshua 24
In your sight to serve the LORD,
then
choose for yourselves
this day
Whom you will serve,
whether the gods your fathers served beyond the Euphrates,
or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living.
As for me and my house,
we will serve
The LORD!
The people replied,
“Far be it from us to forsake the LORD
to serve other gods!"
