Philemon 1
1 Paul, a prisoner for Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother,
To Philemon our beloved fellow worker 2 and Apphia our sister and Archippus our fellow soldier, and the church in your house:
3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 I thank my God always when I remember you in my prayers, 5 because I hear of your love and of the faith that you have toward the Lord Jesus and for all the saints, 6 and I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ [service]. 7 For I have derived much joy and comfort from your love, my brother, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you.
8 Accordingly, though I am bold enough in Christ to command you to do what is required, 9 yet for love's sake I prefer to appeal to you—I, Paul, an old man and now a prisoner also for Christ Jesus— 10 I appeal to you for my child, Onesimus [Useful], whose father I became in my imprisonment. 11 (Formerly he was useless to you, but now he is indeed useful to you and to me.) 12 I am sending him back to you, sending my very heart. 13 I would have been glad to keep him with me, in order that he might serve me on your behalf during my imprisonment for the gospel, 14 but I preferred to do nothing without your consent in order that your goodness might not be by compulsion but of your own accord. 15 For this perhaps is why he was parted from you for a while, that you might have him back forever, 16 no longer as a slave [bondservant] but more than a slave, as a beloved brother—especially to me, but how much more to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord.
17 So if you consider me your partner, receive him as you would receive me. 18 If he has wronged you at all, or owes you anything, charge that to my account. 19 I, Paul, write this with my own hand: I will repay it—to say nothing of your owing me even your own self. 20 Yes, brother, I want some benefit from you in the Lord. Refresh my heart in Christ.
21 Confident of your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even more than I say. 22 At the same time, prepare a guest room for me, for I am hoping that through your prayers I will be graciously given to you.
23 Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, sends greetings to you, 24 and so do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my fellow workers.
25 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
Valentine's Day is actually a day of Love letters.
Similar to Mary encountering God. “Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!”
In 496 by Pope Gelasius I, who included Valentine among those "... whose names are justly reverenced among men, but whose acts are known only to God" let us know Valentine was not famous, but well known and loved by the Lord. Valentine was like all of us. Someone who loved Father God and used his time on earth relying upon Father God's love.
What we can say, in certainty, with gratitude, Valentine's life refreshed many hearts in love. We cannot say he was a martyr, but his life is remembered with love letters. Not a bad thing when we consider God tells us His nature is Love. Like this passage of Paul's; he is in prison, but uses the opportunity Abba gives him to set others free.
Valentine is our beloved brother in Christ. In the promises of Jesus Christ, we have an eternity in front of us, Christ dwelling within us, to discovering the love and joy of Jesus Christ. Paul tells us our acts of faith, hope and love are known and appreciated, strengthened by Father God.
Our benefit to the Lord today... strengthening the path God would want for us.
Today we were at Church On The Rock/iglesia Sobre La Roca in Katy, TX. To hear Aglow Ministries ask Judith MacNutt to proved a day in Loving God in her Healing Ministry. Judith is, with her husband Francis MacNutt, in healing for 40 years. A ministry that has stood the test of time telling us of fruitful work for God.
6 “I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. 7 Now they know that everything that you have given me is from you. 8 For I have given them the words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me.
9 I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours. 10 All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them.
11 And I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one. 12 While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have guarded them, and not one of them has been lost except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
13 But now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves. 14 I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15 I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19 And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth.
Father God. Bless the Church holding the Healing Service. How beautifully they welcome the Holy Spirit in clapping for His Glories. How loving the Pastor is with his wife and her housekeeping in the building of making sure like a Momma Her doors are open and closed.
Bless Judith MacNutt and her team for the Wonders of God presented with such Joy and humility. Bless the couple who gave me love and Aaronic blessings, please give them multiple, multiple blessings back for their love. A Jesus Christ filled Jew is a wondrous, magnificent thing - this Couple has all of His mercies. John 17. And for Mary who prayed and Cindy and Justina and Dee. We ask You to provide a Blessing in Jesus. Please continue the healing in Johnette. Because Father surely we want to Bless the people who seek to bless others. In Jesus we pray. Thank you for our day with Donna, Steve and Karen. Bless Aglow Ministries and the wisdom returning to giving Testimonies in the warm fellowship they provide so ably. Amen. The Joy in Jesus Given and Received.
