Proverbs 8:17
I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me.
Psalm 91
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the recompense of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—
the Most High, who is my refugeb—
10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
no plague come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder;
the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
14 “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows my name.
15 When he calls to me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”
When we set out each day. It's good to wake up and say Thank You. To pray thanksgiving for Your Blessings.
And what do we hope to find in God?
Hebrews 6
17 Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. 18 God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. 19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.
1. We want God to be Honest.
2. We want this Hope in God to greatly encourage us in our daily walk.
3. We want this Faith in our soul to make us firm and secure.
We want this because ... God has Called us to Believe Jesus. We Pray with Jesus in these cornerstones of our faith. God agrees with our desire here in our Worship of God.
Our moods wobble, what was ok yesterday - isn't today. And this is the exact same life. Or we have a day of urgent Trouble.
We hold on to Father God - saying the Lord's Prayer and allowing the real answer - to be upset - to have peace - to guide us as we really are.
In our days of where we need Father God, more than other days:
Keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.
1. He is our refuge. Our fortress.
In this promise - we are given renewal to be faithful in worship and in being a spouse, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness. not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.
2. He will deliver you and cover you with His Wings.
And we will be like a hen gathers her young. Not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.
3. His faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You will not fear
Manage your own family - be a shield. In a manner worthy of full respect. Let Love be genuine. Sincere. Not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain.
The culture around you is not to be condemned. And yet, use the wisdom God gives you to not be someone who breaks a bruised reed. We won't circle the drain without having a Father to cry out to - Father God will hear our prayers.
God is not a wafty wind. His Holy Spirit commands the Host of Heaven. His Will will be done.
His Angels will go forth to make sure His Will is done.
I have seen times where I have prayed for an activity around me to cease. And felt badly when it would not cease after I prayed. I decided I was so unhappy with the dishonorable words - I prayed continuously for the eyes of people to be open to how repetitive and crude the language was - drawing up from words I didn't even know. And the reason I had the tenacity to pray - this really was ugly and it really was disgusting and you'd have had to have read the Urban Dictionary to understand all the definitions. And soon, probably about 15 or 20 minute - the activity stopped. There were elderly people, there were young, young people. The words stopped.
I learned this from the video class from Rev. Francis MacNutt and his wife Psychologist Judith MacNutt. Praying works with more prayer. This was easy it was a disturbance and the disturbance ceased.
4. Hold Fast to God in Love.
Some prayers are short. Once I was very young and not even going to Church much. I was traveling for a living, on airplanes, to go to various country clubs for work. I was sliding on ice and I prayed, "OH MY GOD, Help!" The car seemed miraculously stop from sliding on the iced over bridge. The person behind me thought so too. God is good.
Daniel 9 ~ Then I turned my face to the Lord God, seeking him by prayer
Father God,
When Paul was putting in to words - about seeking You continually - he said something very wise, in the Holy Spirit, about seeing You, Father God in all our lives.
Acts 17
27 that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, 28 for
“‘In him we live and move and have our being"
We seek and find and live in this: For His invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made.
The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. How majestic is Your name in all the earth.
God saw that the light was good. Jesus is the Light of the world, shining in all of mankind.
Bless God in the congregations. We are so fortunate to have Christian radio daily. So different from David when music was rather scarce. Praise you the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth
Bless You Father God in Churches and Cathedrals and in all places of His dominion.
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!
For the heart of those focused on Jesus will make noble plans, beleive noble things, and on noble things he stands.
For this we pray for our souls, the souls of those we love, praying for those seeking still, and for our Bible Believing Churches and our Nation to the Believing World.
Expectation with Joy in the Highest Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
