Psalm 1
1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers
His delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law, he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.
4 The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous
For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
God's Opinion is correct. And the Davidic Line History becomes lessons in personalities for us all - family.
Consider David.
David was an outlaw. And a mercenary. David was placed with the malcontents. And God saw David's heart and David's faith, counting David with the righteous. David was doing the best he could for Father God. And Father God counted David's efforts.
Consider Hezekiah.
King Ahaz, Hezekiah's father, looked at the Assyrian Empire and began to lead his people to worship on the mountain tops. Ahaz decided the Temple could be sold bit by bit and Hezekiah as a puppet king would survive. Hezekiah was raised by a father teaching him to be worldly and practical. Hezekiah sold off the Temple door and stood firm. In his faith. In the time of the Prophet Isaiah - the people flourished even more greatly than the reign of Solomon. The works of the people of Hezekiah and their willingness to fight to be the people of God created the great underground water tunnels to survive siege. And these great works - are visible today.
Hezekiah is the King who destroyed the snake on the pole Moses was told to use for healing. The people had worshipped the object and Hezekiah was forgiven and blessed in the decision.
This was a time the people could not tithe enough to the Temple. A time of Gratitude. And Prosperity. An incredible number of bulla and trade seals from the Reign of Hezekiah are widely available today. Honey sold to Egypt. Exports were plentiful.
Because Hezekiah stood in faith to Father God. With his heart and in his ways. Even in times of mistakes and illness. God was with Hezekiah. They knew Father God's miraculous, tender Mercy and Love.
Consider Herod.
Exact opposite of David.
The Success of Herod is in vast dispute. Herod was appointed by Marc Antony. The DNA of Cleopatra's sister, Arsinoe - Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, shows Herod was their own DNA.
Non-Davidic. Herod the Great was a Roman client king of Judea, referred to as the Herodian kingdom. Herod was guilty of many brutal acts including the killing of his wife, brother-in-law, three of his sons, 300 military leaders, and many others, as recorded by firsthand sources (Antiquities 16:393-394; LCL 8:365). Macrobius (AD 400), one of the last pagan writers in Rome, in his book Saturnalia, wrote: “When it was heard that, as part of the slaughter of boys up to two years old, Herod, king of the Jews, had ordered his own son to be killed, he [Emperor Augustus] remarked, ‘It is better to be Herod’s pig than his son’”
In the 18th year of his reign (20 BC), Herod rebuilt the Temple on "a more magnificent scale".Work on out-buildings and courts continued for 80 years; Herod employed 1,000 priests as masons and carpenters in the rebuilding.
1,000 priests and more surrounded Herod and did not improve his life choices or his legacy.
His extraordinary spending spree is cited as one of the causes of the serious impoverishment of the people he ruled. Although Herod considered himself king of the Jews, he let it be known that he also represented the non-Jews living in Judea, building temples for other religions outside of the Jewish areas of his kingdom. Many Jews questioned the authenticity of Herod's Judaism on account of his Idumean background and his infamous murders of members of his family.
Josephus stated Herod was so concerned no one would mourn his death, he commanded a large group of distinguished men to come to Jericho, and he gave an order they should be killed at the time of his death so his craved displays of grief would take place; his son Archelaus and his sister Salome did not carry out Herod's wish. In Josephus' account, Herod's death was preceded by a lunar eclipse and followed by Passover.
The Pharisees were discontented with Herod disregarding many of their demands in Temple construction. The Sadducees, who were closely associated with priestly responsibilities in the Temple, opposed Herod because he replaced their high priests with outsiders from Babylonia and Alexandria, in an effort to gain support from the Jewish Diaspora.
Herod educated his children in Rome. After placing the Priests in the Temple, his family would look at the reign of Jesus Christ as possibly the reincarnation of John the Baptist.
History finds the practicality of a puppet king as completely disregarded by Christians and Jews throughout History. Herod is completely the opposite of David. Herod surrounded himself with the people he chose. The way of Herod is synonymous as success built by a failure. The faithlessness of Herod created the legacy of his downfall.
Abba, Our Father,
We asked to be Blessed by You. Blessed we are - in Your counsel. Help us with Your Love to stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. With You, we rest our souls.
We want to delight in Your Every Word. Your thoughts of me are more than the grains of sand on the beaches.
We want to be like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is larger than all the garden plants and becomes a tree so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.
For where two or three are gathered in Your name, our "I am" is among them. We will tell of your name to our brothers and sisters in the midst of the congregation - I will praise you.
For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, we believe the Promises of our God.
We ask to be covered in the Name of Jesus and so Blessed. We ask for our Loved ones to be covered in the Name and Love of Jesus. We ask the Nation to be covered and Loved in the Name of Jesus.
And all the Nations trusting in God. And the Beloved of God so blessed praying for more Heaven on earth. Blessings of Love, Peace, Health, Joy and Prosperity. And giving thanks for Jackson the dog having a better day.
Jesus is God. Alleluia. Amen.
