The true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
Galatians 6:9
And let us not grow weary of doing good,
for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
As we look to the skies December 21st, just as the Shepherds did and Magi as Jesus Christ was born, we are similar again to the First Christmas.
The Birth of Jesus has so many wonderful Promises of God fulfilled, we would see prophetic Word of God filled back to Moses and Genesis 1. Son of David, Jesus Lord at His Birth. The Archangel Gabriel has arrived twice to tell of His Birth.
The Shepherds have seen so many Angels this is written as All the Heavenly Host. Bethlehem is moved by world events to become the birthplace of Jesus.
And as Mary and Joseph experience the Birth of Jesus, the dedication of Jesus at God's Jerusalem Temple becomes a warm and loving experience of the outpouring of God's Holy Spirit. Not warned merely by dream to avoid Herod, the nobility of far away assure them to flee to Egypt.
With all tremendous aspects, given by God, we would fully expect to hear of only amazing faith and unwavering devotion to Father God by Mary and Joseph. Instead, the glimpses of the Mother of God and Jesus' family proclaim the fragility of adverse circumstances and the-who-me-of-individual Faith.
All of Scripture completes the unending circle of God's Love and His Living Word.
John 6:29
Jesus replied, “The work of God is this: to believe in Him God has sent.”
Elijah saw amazing Wonders of God and went to live in a cave for fear and craving what he understood. Like Mary and Joseph and all who work to have faith, yet want what they understand and the comfort of their own ideas for their lives.
1 Kings 19:11
Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.”
We have all this year watched graphs, mountains — if you will, of information, mountains of graphs with predictions of deaths and mountains of graphs with financial fears and recoveries. A mountain of statistics. We are like the goals of John the Baptist, in the area of Abilene, seeking a plain with smooth paths.
God is in and around and near. And the people of God have a longing:
Luke 3
“The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
‘Prepare the way of the Lord;
Make His paths straight.
Every valley shall be filled
And every mountain and hill brought low
The crooked places shall be made straight
And the rough ways smooth;
And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.’ ”
David wrote of ascents.
To ascend what God would have us become. To have Hearts, God would want to run to exactly as the Prodigal Son coming Home.
And the Scriptures complete the Circle of Father God's unending and merciful love to us.
His Steadfast Love and Joy. Scriptures repeat as the Disciples put eyes and faith upon Jesus Healing Them All from the first Day of His Ministry. The fragility of the Disciples fear in following Jesus coming in direct contact with what they expected of their own lives.
God tells us His Creation is Good.
Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. This year we have made direct contact with Elijah's Holy Spirit following the strong wind tearing into our mountain (of plans) and breaking rocks. We have experienced fears and tremors we could call earthquakes. We had the most amazing clear view of beautiful skies. So blue. After earthquakes, we have seen such fires the skies were a horrible shade of burning grey.
God calls us, we feel Him.
We know the stillness of His Calling. To be Still and Know He is God. We are called by a small and gracious God arriving in a world as a helpless infant. God refers to going to His Temple, as if going Home.
The Bible always literally calls this going up to Jerusalem, going up to the Temple of God. Going as Jesus says, “Arise”. The Church. God gave His Life. And we ask God to know all of us and Live within us. In, around and near. God so close, like Psalm 139, the knowledge is too high for us.
Too high for us to hold other than in faith. And holding to the Truth and living the Truth. Acknowledging the Truth and asking Him to Live within us.
Psalm 139
And laid Your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is high, I cannot attain it.
God is still telling us
Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow — His Creation is Good.
He gives us His Son and we ascend. Today.
And by this we know that we are of the truth,
and shall assure our hearts
before Him.
