Psalm 84
How lovely is your dwelling place,
O Lord of hosts!
2 My soul longs, yes, faints
for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and flesh sing for joy
to the living God.
3 Even the sparrow finds a home,
and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may lay her young,
at your altars, O Lord of hosts,
my King and my God.
4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house,
ever singing your praise!
Selah
5 Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
in whose heart are the highways to Zion.
6 As they go through the Valley of Baca
they make it a place of springs;
the early rain also covers it with pools.
7 They go from strength to strength;
each one appears before God in Zion.
8 O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer;
give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah
9 Behold our shield, O God;
look on the face of your anointed!
10 For a day in your courts is better
than a thousand elsewhere.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
the Lord bestows favor and honor.
No good thing does he withhold
from those who walk uprightly.
12 O Lord of hosts,
blessed is the one who trusts in you!
When I was in third grade, we began to learn about St. Francis of Assisi.
One of the joys in Francis life was to help others feed the birds. The birds would land on St. Francis as he prayed. And if you were with St. Francis, then you could also feed the birds. I went home to study our backyard and wondered if this happened a lot and found this was rare. Finally, on a trip to San Antonio when I had two small sons, we went to a Starbucks on the rivers surrounding the city and everyone gets to hand feed the birds. And locally, a restaurant leaves food on the plates, the birds are so used to sitting on the tables to clear up before the staff comes, the sparrows have nests on the porch. And my family always orders a loaf of bread to feed the birds by hand. This is so unique, the restaurant allows this.
This is evangelism. The desire to say God is willing.
Whatever condition life has saddened, angered, bored, delighted, thrilled you to find. Proverbs 8 tells us God looks into mankind with the Holy Spirit and Jesus and delights. Of course, God sometimes tells us generations of mankind aren't that delightful. Yet never once does God say, this generation is so burdened and troublesome, I'm going to withhold Jesus and go out later to save the world in Jesus Christ.
I was listening to the Pew Report numbers of believers in the USA. Honestly, the number has dropped 6% during the Pandemic. That's pretty wonderful. It was a horrible time. Our youth say they are separated from Religion. That's not the best thing I've ever heard. However, in my lifetime of 5 decades, the average age of Church attendance is age 55.
God tells us Heaven is open gates 24 hours a day and the dark never overcomes the Gates of Heaven. God is Light. At whatever age we decide to sample God's House and fly in. God will leave the Light on.
Abba, Father God,
In Your Abundant Willingness, Dwell in my heart, mind, body and soul.
Let my soul, be comfort for Jesus. Help me to see the Heaven you have surrounded
us on this earth with daily. Open my eyes to Your Goodness daily.
Help me to see Your Mercies Renew Daily.
Help me to be Your Heaven on this earth and help me to
renew Your mercies daily.
Psalm 84 is a Psalm David and Solomon chose to have read and sung in Worship.
This is transparent and easily understood.
As we are to our Father God.
Selah is when we assess life
and pause to find Wonder and Pleasure in You.
As we take our lives, help us to see and live our Blessings.
When the wild winds of life howl
we will find in Love, Faith and Hope
we endure, persevere, hope and then thrive
as we Believe You.
Bless this Nation, this Republic, Please, Father.
The World needing Your Love and Salvation,
Your Creation You call Good.
This feels like a New Season.
Bless those starting out in life.
Bless those with children to provide for, when joy
and concern runs more swiftly.
Bless those with an empty nest. To fill
our hearts and time with Your Plans.
Our God has Willingly thrown open His Heart
we ask for Your Abundant Willingness Father God.
Not pleading for meager prayers answered
but the Joy and Strength of seeing You Triumph.
We pray for Elliott to be healed.
And for Janet.
Their families.
For Families adjusting to
being newly re-made and sometimes
with loss during the Pandemic.
That this Easter will
be altered but filled with
Love and Joy.
God has answered many prayers.
Blessings on all who Pray
and Pray often for others.
Let earth and Heaven have
time and season
to
Rejoice
Again.
In Jesus Christ He is
our Eternal Life
and He is willing.
Amen in Jesus.
