Psalm 130
†
A Song of Ascents.
Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord!
2O Lord, hear my voice!
Let your ears be attentive
to the voice of my pleas for mercy!
If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities,
O Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness,
that you may be feared.
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
and in His Word I hope;
my soul waits for the Lord
more than watchmen for the morning,
more than watchmen for the morning.
O Israel, hope in the Lord!
For with the Lord there is steadfast love,
and with him is plentiful redemption.
And he will redeem Israel
from
all his iniquities.
Of course, we are not the only people, the only generation, who have experienced profound change. Today, I heard conversation of a multi generational household, with love and carrying for the elderly, living in their home, being cold due to the price of necessities. I have only heard about freezing indoor temperatures in the late 1970s, during a mini-ice age. These are a reminder to pray, these caring conversations. Working to provide, conversations.
The news does not report the worldwide highest usage year of coal, as the news reports climate change and electric cars. We have no plan for mass transit, as equality is discussed endlessly. This isn't equality.
The stock market knows coal stocks have soared. Probably so high, there isn't room for more profitability in coal stocks. This isn't reported in the news. The inequality of air conditions we all share. Equality. 2020 Blue pandemic skies. Clear water in Venice, 2021 dolphins.
When we have a time requiring prayer. When our hands do not make change, we all pray. It's easy to be emotional and then discouraged. Waiting and prayer is the work Jesus told us about.
John 6:29
Jesus told them,
“This is the only work God wants from you:
Believe in the One He has sent.”
Daniel is poignant during waiting. His relationship with The Lord was profound, like Jeremiah, and days, years and seasons could be foretold.
Daniel 12:12
Blessed is he who waits and arrives at the 1,335 days.
13 But go your way till the end.
And you shall rest
and shall stand
in your allotted place at the end of the days.
Micah makes an excellent point. Perfect.
Micah 5:7
Then the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples
like dew from the Lord,
like showers on the grass,
which
delay not for a man
nor wait for the children of man.
People have trepidation to wait in expectation. And we quickly remember Jesus saying to have faith.
This can lead to some fault finding within ourselves. As we grow up, we hear encouragement to be brave and not show fear, overcome fear with self suppression. Walking in faith isn't about self suppression, this is the ability to tell the Lord, our Father, we have fear to see difficulties around us. The ability to express who we truly are to Him. I used to be bothered and uncomfortable with the Ten Talents. The risk-takers were the 10 Talent and 5 Talent Servants, believing not in overcoming, believing in success with the Lord. Reaching past worry.
The worriers in life, think. And the faithful people, the Scriptures, record there have been many worriers. Like the Holy Family, finding Jesus Christ is not being watched over carefully as a child. Sure, Joseph dreams Angels and Mary meets Archangels. And Jesus is not with their pilgrimage. What would you tell the Lord? The crisis you never expected, that, causes worry.
We know many people are fully aware what is what, and how life should be lived. Fact. We know we have been in pandemic, and we know pandemic can create Renaissance after the angry, crazies shake out of the box. Historically, we can have Hope.
There is another reason. God's wonders tend to center around the 500 year mark. We are within 100 years of Israel existing as a nation. With all certainty, we are in a time God is moving. Believe in the Beauty of God's Works.
