Psalm 72:1-14
Give the King Your Justice, O God,
and Your Righteousness
to the Royal Son!
2 May He judge Your people with righteousness,
and Your poor with justice!
3 Let the mountains bear prosperity for the people,
and the hills, in righteousness!
4 May He defend the cause of the poor of the people,
give deliverance to the children of the needy,
and crush the oppressor!
5 May they fear You while the sun endures,
and as long as the moon, throughout all generations!
6 May He be like rain
that falls on the mown grass,
like showers that water the earth!
7 In His Days
may the righteous flourish,
and peace abound,
till the moon be no more!
8 May He have dominion from sea to sea,
and from the River
to the ends of the earth!
9 May desert tribes bow down before Him,
and His enemies lick the dust!
10 May the Kings of Tarshish
and of the coastlands
render Him tribute;
may the kings of Sheba and Seba
bring gifts!
11 May all kings fall down before Him,
all nations serve Him!
12 For He delivers the needy when he calls,
the poor and him who has no Helper.
13 He has pity on the weak and the needy,
and saves the lives of the needy.
14 From oppression and violence
He redeems their life,
and
precious is their blood in His Sight.
To read the Scriptures is important.
Colossians 11:15-19
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18 And He is the Head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead,
that in everything
He might be preeminent.
19 For in Him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell
Philippians 2:12-13
12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling,
13 for it is God who works in you,
both to will and to work for His good pleasure.
Days will come. Jesus did say.
Today, The Lord's Good Pleasure was for Edward, me and the Poodles to come home safely. Alive! The car was not as fortunate, but kept us safe.
In 2015, a woman had passed out in her car and was going above 80 mph. I heard the noise as I was passing through the south bound green traffic light about 2 or 3 blocks away from our house. She was going so fast, that she ended up hitting me in the 3rd lane of 4, I had passed through 3 of the 4 lanes, wondering what the noise was I was hearing. Roaring. It was her car. She hit me and bounced back, going so fast she ended up hitting me 3 times and causing her insurance to call my car a total loss. My thought as she utterly destroyed the metal, electric heater I was carrying in the back, it exploded loudly. I held the steering wheel and wondered if I was driving straight into Heaven. Faith, I felt prepared to see Jesus. And missed hitting a tree narrowly, as her car propelled my car finally to a stop.
Today, Edward yelled as he drove north through the same green traffic light. He yelled, "Don't Hit Me! Don't Hit My Car!" I yelled back, where, as I looked over to the tree I narrowly missed in 2015. Completely the wrong direction, the way I looked. He yelled, "We are hit twice!" And we were, we jerked soundly, and my hand flew up and hit my face and knocked my sunglasses to hurt my nose. My left arm was bruised as well. We coasted to a stop, both vehicles. And the offending vehicle kept rolling past us, motion in motion to the oncoming traffic's turn lane.
Edward could coast and he coasted to the shoulder out of traffic. I Yelled, “Stop.” And ran back through the stopped intersection to call 911 and take photos of the license plate. 80% of accidents in our county are hit-and-run. I had been in a vast hit in my mom's car when a car failed to see a light in front of us all. We were so stunned, the offending huge pickup Truck sped past the destruction of my mom's car.
I learned that day, your primary reaction is: 1) Call 911 and REPORT the accident. Someone might need the police and you might be unconscious next. 2) skip the offending driver, 3) Take photos of the license plate. 4) Do steps 1,2, 3 without being stopped for conversation after glancing to make sure all are not bleeding.
This time, the first witness checking on the health status of the offending driver urged me not to call 911 and just solve this ourselves. I ignored him. He insisted. I Yelled NO with all the adrenaline and proceeded with 911. This is as it should be. The driver was heard to be asking the witness to cancel the Police.
We were so fortunate, we had people stop to round up our 2 Poodles, who have to wear leashes in every car trip. And this enabled us to solve running Poodles. God Bless Them.
And two people with dash cameras stepped forward to tell us and the police, we had been merely driving through a Green Traffic Light. God Bless Them too. One stayed to show the Police her dash cam.
Today, we were blessed to have only a car with trouble to repair. Grateful to be Alive with my family. Grateful for the help of the Fast and Diligent Police. Grateful to God for the people Mr. Rogers calls The Helpers.
Grateful to come through 2 traffic accidents at the easy intersection with minor to no injuries. Grateful. Grateful. The Lord defended our cause. Grateful.
