Jeremiah 6:16a ~ Where the good way is, and walk in †

Jeremiah 6:16a

Thus says the Lord: 

“Stand by the roads, and look, 

and 

ask for the ancient paths, 

where the good way is; 

and walk in it, 

and find rest for your souls”

Last week, we were going through a red light and a driver running the light, going about 40 to 50 mph, hit us.  She hit hard enough to hit us and bounce back and hit us again.  Always call for the police. We had people step up and show their dash cameras to show the red light runner was at fault. Our area sees 80% hit-and-run, so, always, quickly take a photo of the license.  And let the police speak to the other driver. This red light runner, tried to get a passerby to convince us not to call the police. The argument ended with the, “NO” word. 

We have Amica Insurance and when the other driver's insurance began to question the accident, and the dash cams, we referred them to the Police and Police Report and Amica. 

Today, we got up while it was still 3:00 AM ish and traveled to the airport, then Atlanta and on to the Southern East Coast to buy a new used car.  Our car was declared totaled.  

The unusual part of this wreck, 10 years ago, our car was totaled by a red light runner at the same, easy to see, traffic light. Our neighbor had a severe car accident by a red light runner, same corner.  I notice now everyone is looking right, left, right before proceeding through a red light.

We had tried in our area, but the used market has an uptick and we usually shop for 8 weeks to buy a car. This time, one appeared as a good deal and we went on a fly, purchase, drive small vacation. 

So many states are working so diligently on American Beauty. City Planning.

North Carolina has made North Carolina the 16th Travel Destination in the Nation, according to the NY Times.

North Carolina 

With The Native American trails within the Appalachian region are thousands of years old, predating European arrival. And making the most of the natural beauty has state planning among the best of the 50 States.  Beauty begets monetary value, increasing values and the desire to live with beauty. Beauty creates a strong economy. The Highway system left us in awe. Just the Highways.

Like Oregon and Washington, the Forest lining all the Highways looks like mature Forestry. There is a sense you are in the forest, but observing closely, you'd find housing, farming and industry.  Giving the wildlife a break within mankind's spread.  Then, when approaching a bridge or overpass, expect to find native landscaping using brilliant yellow day lilies and red leafed Maple.  Hardscape with the landscaping. Flower beds with stones. Brilliant use of plants.

North Carolina is back and will be a strong part of our National Future.

South Carolina 

Never lacks for natural beauty or ancient planting.  Charleston and knowing cities outlaw the removal of ancient trees, sometimes used as boundary markers.  Architecture in South Carolina and the natural landscapes will always stir us in our hearts.

The public has spoken, highways are being studied for safety without tree loss.

South Carolina can't keep Charleston growth down. The Beauty has created a retirement for many. Just as the growth behind Victoria, Canada, Charleston is seeing a rapid increase in good economy! Due to the intricate building planning, employing all the beautiful and magnificent architecture of the Old Ways in new 6-story buildings. And the always, improvements, on the ancient residences looking to preserve beauty, beauty, Beauty.  

Tree Planning has been part of the city and state planning of South Carolina 

for an incredibly long history.

Georgia

Of all the top states, Georgia has the same desire to line all highways with a layer of ancient forestry. Stunning. Like Kansas, Georgia works diligently to reclaim abandoned property and abandoned houses, sheds and mobile homes. Georgia is beautiful and very clean. I read an article on abandoned mobile homes being buried 12 feet deep on the land they sit upon. Because a decayed mobile home will fall apart leaving vast amounts of debris on the road.  Given the insects drawn to decay and drug deals in the urban areas, the destruction of abandoned and decaying housing has many reasons for reclaiming the land as reusable. 

The unexpected ancient trees are always stunning.  One shouldn't believe immediately this is slave related.  Many of our southern ancestors were planters without the slaves, costing more than 1930 housing for one slave.  Only the extremely wealthy had slaves.  And many, many, many in southern history worked very diligently for their livelihoods.  Not just in merchant or banking, but in planting. 

How would this relate to Scripture? 

1 Peter 2:9

You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.

The stewardship surrounding all of us is something near to the heart of the Lord.

Psalm 24:1-3

The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof,

    the world and those who dwell therein,

2 for He has founded it upon the seas

    and established it upon the rivers.

3 Who shall ascend the Hill of the Lord?

    And who shall stand in His Holy Place?

Genesis 2:15

The Lord God took the man 

and put him in the garden of Eden 

to work it and keep it.

The UN and all the groups in China and India are interested, with great success, in renewal of land and farming. The use of trees and water sharing creates more water and not less in wise usage.

Isaiah 58:11 

And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, 

whose waters do not fail.

Jeremiah 31:12 

They shall come and sing aloud on the height of Zion, and they shall be radiant over the goodness of the Lord, over the grain, the wine, and the oil, and over the young of the flock and the herd; 

their life shall be like a watered garden, 

and 

they shall 

languish no more.

Jeremiah 6:16a
