Psalm 31
1 In you, O LORD, do I take refuge; let me never be put to shame; in your righteousness deliver me!
2 Incline your ear to me; rescue me speedily!
Be a rock of refuge for me, a strong fortress to save me! 3 For you are my rock and my fortress; and for your name's sake you lead me and guide me; 4 you take me out of the net they have hidden for me, for you are my refuge.
5 Into your hand I commit my spirit; you have redeemed me, O LORD, faithful God.
6 I hate those who pay regard to worthless idols, but I trust in the LORD. 7 I will rejoice and be glad in your steadfast love, because you have seen my affliction; you have known the distress of my soul, 8 and you have not delivered me into the hand of the enemy; you have set my feet in a broad place.
9 Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am in distress; my eye is wasted from grief; my soul and my body also.
10 For my life is spent with sorrow, and my years with sighing; my strength fails because of my iniquity, and my bones waste away. 11 Because of all my adversaries I have become a reproach, especially to my neighbors, and an object of dread to my acquaintances; those who see me in the street flee from me. 12 I have been forgotten like one who is dead; I have become like a broken vessel. 13 For I hear the whispering of many-- terror on every side!-- as they scheme together against me, as they plot to take my life.
14 But I trust in you, O LORD; I say, "You are my God." 15 My times are in your hand; rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors! 16 Make your face shine on your servant; save me in your steadfast love! 17 O LORD, let me not be put to shame, for I call upon you; let the wicked be put to shame; let them go silently to Sheol.
18 Let the lying lips be mute, which speak insolently against the righteous in pride and contempt.
19 Oh, how abundant is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you and worked for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of the children of mankind! 2
0 In the cover of your presence you hide them from the plots of men;
you store them in your shelter from the strife of tongues.
21 Blessed be the LORD, for he has wondrously shown his steadfast love to me when I was in a besieged city. 22 I had said in my alarm, "I am cut off from your sight." But you heard the voice of my pleas for mercy when I cried to you for help.
23 Love the LORD, all you his saints!
The LORD preserves the faithful but abundantly repays the one who acts in pride.
24 Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the LORD!
To be part of the New Covenant is a Jesus bless you always Blessing.
In the Old Testament, a man is sent with a message from God. He is told do not get off the path. Just give the message. And he has a problem or two and he overcomes - delivers the message and is on his way home - when a 'man of God' stops him to have a visit in his home and the man goes because the message is delivered and the 'man of God' is helping. It was nothing of the sort. The man returns home to find he has ruined the message and voided the instructions of God. The man is condemned. We are so Very Fortunate to be part of the New Covenant of Jesus Christ.
God in the New Covenant - is never going to leave us. We are not ever left or forsaken of God for all who call on Jesus as God.
Ephesians 6 addresses the reality we learned in the Vietnam War, the torturers knew you can tear people down with continual harm. It was the goal actually. And because God is Jesus - and Jesus is the exact image of the Merciful Father - we have Refuge with Jesus -who makes all things work for good for those who love the Lord and want to work according to His Purpose.
God tells us He instinctively places the Holy Spirit in those who believe. I once was new to an area and made friends with two women more wealthy than I was. We all had very young children. It was fine until ski clothes were to be handed down. An object to be divided. I was frankly the only one in need. And now there were only two friends, not me. I knew from non-verbal communication some lie had been told. I decided because the problem was told to me as non-existent - it was to be exactly that. I left this up to God. Eventually the lie based friendship ended. And one woman came and told me the lie told against me. The truth is in this neighborhood, as time went by - she could tell this lying woman was going to tell things that were not true. She was not a very stable person who manipulated the truth to appear as if she was telling the Truth. The Truth comes out and in her speech you could tell - this woman was apt to use a particle of the Truth to tell a Lie. And because this is evident over a few years, all the neighborhood knew this. All things were manipulated for any benefit of that individual. As the time came to make changes, the woman with the manipulations - left. Others went on, because being seen - is to be understood.
Being in the New Covenant - we all 3 survived and know each other about completely now.
We know. When we are shown another's character we will make allowances. I made friends with a new neighbor in settling a dispute. Eventually the new friend wanted the old 20 year friend and not me. Eventually the new friend wanted my family's attention and not mine. Eventually the dispute I'd settled, came back to being my dispute. We make allowances for each other and find the shoe fits. Is this bad? Not really. Without allowances, we have no mercy. And Mercy gives Life Meaning. We take the problems life will give us, Jesus promises life gives problems. And we make sure we don't hand out the problems too often. We make sure we don't let the root of bitterness get us. We work at being the Light that Shines of Jesus Christ.
Win Win
Win Lose.
Sometimes situations are not going to be Win Win. You can't win. However you can win. We have a part of us we all - according to Research, we do inherently know - we have part of us we know are continuing to God. I've seen parts of my life I felt were tragic. And in my 5th Decade, I see God was making me stronger to get to the Truth. The Truth wins. It can be now, later or in Heaven, but the Truth wins.
When we support the Truth - in actions, words and deeds. We make a place for ourselves no one can take. We make self esteem to God. Pleasing God gives us backbone. Bravery. Endurance. Kindness. Ability to bound over the rough places. When we please God - we know we have all the help we need.
No one really makes another less. When we know we stand before God and have His Love. We are Strong. No doubt, we all fail, but when we know we have God's true empathy and Love - we will stand again.
What Joy is Going to Arrive?
God knows definitely. We have to produce the fruit within us to have the Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Hope, Faith and Love. When our house is to God - when our soul is to Father God. We will have the joy within us to have reached the knowledge we are Loved and Held and Appreciated and Esteemed by All That Matters. And when you reach the place where your heart has Joy with God - then you want others to know this place too.
Jesus sent out His Disciples two by two. It wouldn't be like Jesus not to go two by two when He sends two by two. Jesus is paired from Luke 1 with John the Baptist. At times they have harmony and other times John the Baptist is afraid in prison. Jesus acknowledges John the Baptist has flaws saying the least saint in Heaven is greater than John the Baptist. But Jesus is shown to want to feed the multitudes the days after John is beheaded. Jesus spends time in prayer. Jesus sees the willingness of God to allow Jesus to walk on the water. Jesus is not going alone. Peter wants to travel with Jesus. Jesus might have had a good joke and a laugh at Peter's failure. Instead Jesus shows us about moving on in life. Jesus is going to reach down and help Peter. Peter is going to safely journey with Jesus Christ. Jesus does not let the soul happy to God exist in glorious aloneness with God. Jesus does not get the giggles the newbie fails. Jesus does not make a joke so Peter knows who is God. Jesus does not look at the sky and say, "Really God, this one, Really?" Jesus does not let the root of bitterness happen. Jesus does not act like Lucy and press Peter's head a little bit down in the water so we know who is Boss. Jesus immediately helps Peter. This is our God. This is the God we want.
Our God helps people in honest ways. Our God allows us to get to the place where we want to talk to Him. Our God understands heart to heart is heart to heart. Our God immediately helps us back on the path. Our God comes to get us when we are off the path and makes breakfast. Our God makes us so comfortable we ask Him - why John? Our God sees squabbles and still spends time with us.
Our Father God is so good - Peter will risk another few water adventures.
Having faith the trees are in God's Plan. Tending the Orchard year around.
What Joy is Going to Arrive?
How much work are you willing to put into your Orchard with God. Fruit is cultivated.
Abba,
We ask the Blessing of peace to those on whom Your favor rests. We ask our souls continue to fill
with Joy, Peace, Faith, Hope and Love.
Jesus Christ is our God. Jesus, the radiance of God's glory. Jesus the exact representation of Your Being.
Father, increase us of the assurance of things hoped for. With conviction. We want, Father God, the
commendation of You, Yourself. This Blessing of God.
We believe the universe was created by the Word of God. You are sustaining all things by Your powerful Word. Jesus God.
We believe You reward those who seek You. We want to please You, we want to draw near to You in faith, Father God. And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek God.
We want Your Heavenly Homeland in our souls today. Making our homecoming entirely Home. We want our joys to be the joys pleasing to You.
And in our souls today - we want Jesus. We know You give faith conquering kingdoms, enforcing justice, obtaining promises, stopping the mouths of lions, quenching the power of fire, escaping the edge of the sword, making strength out of weakness, making mighty in war, putting armies hostile to God to flight. We know this faith receives back their dead by resurrection.
We ask more Heaven on earth for ourselves, the ones we Love, the people You have given. We reach for the fruit of faith telling us we can make more perfect Heaven on earth every day with the Hope, Faith and Love You give daily.
We ask with all our Heart in Jesus, the Glory of God dwells, where we see You, Father God covering us in Jesus.
Amen.
