Matthew 21:14-17, 21, 22
The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and He healed them.
But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple courts,
“Hosanna to the Son of David,”
they were indignant.
16 “Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him.
“Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read,
“‘From the lips of children and infants
you, Lord, have called forth your praise’?”
17 And he left them and went out of the city to Bethany,
where he spent the night.
21 Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.
22 If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
There are hundreds and hundreds of prophecies fulfilled in Jesus Christ. One of them is
Psalm 8
1O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.
2 Out of the mouth of babies and infants,
you have established strength because of your foes,
to still the enemy and the avenger.
3When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
4 what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?
5Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.
6You have given him dominion over the works of your hands;
you have put all things under his feet,
7all sheep and oxen,
and also the beasts of the field,
8the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea,
whatever passes along the paths of the seas.
9O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
This praise bursting forth from the children, babes and infants really follows along with what Jesus said about His praise will be sung out.
Luke 19:36-40
And as he rode along, they spread their cloaks on the road. 37 As he was drawing near—already on the way down the Mount of Olives—the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen,
38 saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
39 And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.”
40 He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”
When Abraham began to be heard as a man of God, even Pharaoh listened to Abraham. And Abraham lived under the land he had paid for, but he lived in a tent under huge Oaks. Hebron, Oaks of Mamre. The misfortunes Abraham encountered, turned into Blessings - eventually.
Jacob lived to see his misfortunes become Blessings - eventually.
When David was cast out from Saul, his misfortunes turned into Blessings - eventually.
When Jonah was called to move far away into the Assyrian area of Ninevah, (until 1981 Ninevah was called Biblical Fable until the city was found with the Library and History) God was turning Israel's misfortunes into Blessings.
Hezekiah lived one of the finest lives encountered in the Bible. He frequently put aside what he was doing and listened to God. Hezekiah's misfortunes began with his father and his father's ideas of leadership. And Hezekiah, in faith, found his misfortunes were amazing Blessings. The Assyrian Army let Israel exist and prosper. Due to Jonah.
Joash let his blessings become dust. By his own choices.
Habakkuk knew difficulties.
Habakkuk 1:3
Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrongdoing?
Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds.
Habakkuk 3:4
His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand,
where His power was hidden.
Habakkuk 3:19
The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
He enables me to tread on the heights.
Habakkuk 3:18
Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
Habakkuk 3
17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labor of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:
18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
19 The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.
He's got the whole world in His Hands.
And God is not Worried.
Abba, Father God,
The news today was lions, tigers and bears.
Hurting our hearts and hopes.
Causing with us the resolve to do right and help righteousness.
Being bridge builders with honest words and intentions.
You have the whole of all Your Good Creation in Your Hands.
Dwell in us.
Help us to be the One You Love and Delight in.
Help us to Seek You first
and find our Loved ones have You dwelling in them.
We will finish well in Jesus Christ.
We pray for the people reading of the superpod of dolphins in
Faroe Island, where very few killers have done horribly.
We pray for Justice for Your Creation, knowing You
included animals in the Salvation of Your Covenant with Noah.
We pray for our children in the violence of big cities.
We pray for Life. Life of the innocents.
Life of mothers and fathers and grandparents.
We pray for the nutty happenings we read in the news.
We pray for Your Goodness.
When we are weak, Your Strength is our Joy.
We look for signs of the thaw
and see You are Working.
Your Word is Living and Active.
Your Steadfast Love.
We ask You to give us each Day.
Forgive us when we are wrong and set us on Your Path again.
Let more Heaven be seen on earth, Your Good Creation.
Thank You for Your Tender Mercy.
Your Promises are Faithful.
Your Word is Living.
You are Working and Jesus is working too.
Luke 1
The oath that He swore to our father Abraham, to grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies,
might serve him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before Him all our days. nd you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High;
for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways,to give knowledge of salvation to his people
in the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God,
whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
We ask You to have the Boldness of Aslan
and our prayer life to be as alive.
We lift up our Nation
and Your Good Creation
to have Your compassion and help.
In Jesus Christ we say Alleluia.
Amen.
