Hebrews 4:4a-16
And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.”
5 And again in this passage he said,
“They shall not enter my rest.”
6 Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, 7 again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted,
“Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts.”
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on. 9 So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, 10 for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.
11 Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. 12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
We've thought a lot about Heaven. Heaven of multitudes of people. Heaven, where all people get to meet and see Jesus in His Glory. Heaven made up of families. Heaven, made up of the generations. Heaven, God's Kingdom, made up of cultures.
Yesterday we looked at:
John 5:17
Jesus answered them, "To this very day My Father is always at his work to this very day,
and I too am working."
Hebrews 4
And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.”
5 And again in this passage he said,
“They shall not enter my rest.”
Jesus loved parables to explain the truth. Just as we love to see photographs and explore personalities, watching entertainment. Jesus loved to present an aspect of life and allow us to picture the ideals and wonder. In this wonder to learn about our Father and His Love watching Jesus heal.
John 4:34
Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him
who sent me and to accomplish his work.
When we speak of His Feast for His Son. The Wedding Feast of the Lamb of God, we are talking about the completion and the enduring Life in Heaven.
Isaiah 2;4
And He shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people;
and they shall beat their swords into plowshares,
and their spears into pruning hooks;
nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
neither
shall they learn
war anymore.
In Heaven, we are learning peace. Peace is not rest always. Peace is learning.
Zechariah 8:3-8
4 Thus says the Lord of hosts: Old men and old women shall again sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each with staff in hand because of great age.
5 And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets.
6 Thus says the Lord of hosts: If it is marvelous in the sight of the remnant of this people in those days, should it also be marvelous in my sight, declares the Lord of hosts?
7 Thus says the Lord of hosts: Behold, I will save my people from the east country and from the west country, 8 and I will bring them to dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. And they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in faithfulness and in righteousness.”
What will you be in Heaven? We know Abba makes all things new. Will you be old in great age? Will you be the children in the streets.
Zechariah 8
11 But now I will not deal with the remnant of this people as in the former days, declares the Lord of hosts.
12 For there shall be a sowing of peace.
The vine shall give its fruit, and the ground shall give its produce, and the heavens shall give their dew. And I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things. 13 And as you have been a byword of cursing among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so will I save you, and you shall be a blessing. Fear not, but let your hands be strong.”
14 For thus says the Lord of hosts: “As I purposed to bring disaster to you when your fathers provoked me to wrath, and I did not relent, says the Lord of hosts, 15 so again have I purposed in these days to bring good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah; fear not.
16 These are the things that you shall do: Speak the truth to one another;
render in your gates judgments that are true and make for peace;
17 do not devise evil in your hearts against one another,
and love no false oath, for all these things I hate, declares the Lord.”
18 And the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying, 19 “Thus says the Lord of hosts: The fast of the fourth month and the fast of the fifth and the fast of the seventh and the fast of the tenth shall be to the house of Judah seasons of joy and gladness and cheerful feasts.
Therefore love truth and peace.
The God of the Old Testament is the Father of Love and Encouragement. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. When we account, in our ideas and heart, for the variations of work and rest in Heaven, we will place this in the Steadfast Circle of God's Love. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.
Abba, Father,
Your Promises are Sure.

1 Corinthians 13:12
Now we see but a dim reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face.
Now I know in part; then I shall know fully,
even as I am fully known.
2 Corinthians 4:18
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the assurance of what we hope for and the certainty of what we do not see.
For ourselves, for our families,
for our steadfast goodness in endurance
with
Faith
Hope
and Love
The Greatest is Love.
The Highest Name of Christ Jesus the Lord God Almighty Savior.
Alleluia
Amen.
