40 And a leper came to him, imploring him, and kneeling said to him, “If you will, you can make me clean.”
41 Moved with pity, He stretched out His Hand and touched him and said to him, “I will; be clean.”
42 And immediately the leprosy left him, and he was made clean. 43 And Jesus sternly charged him and sent him away at once, 44 and said to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded, for a proof to them.”
45 But he went out and began to talk freely about it, and to spread the news, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter a town, but was out in desolate places, and people were coming to him from every quarter.

Almost all of us wonder why Jesus would ask the joyous leper to be silent. I think we can add a today idea and put this question aside for all of us.
The Critics have something to say about this Mark 1 portion.
We will list the critics' problems with Mark 1. It's very similar to the critics who say the Bible was written in 400 A.D., then we see 300 intact Chapters of the Bible in Papyrus 46. P46 is housed in The University of Michigan, from the late 1st or 2nd Century, judged by verb usage.
List of Critics:
Of direct relevance to the problem of "so-called leprosy" in the Bible is the still "confused" history of Hansen's disease in ancient Egypt.
And Egypt isn't Israel.
An ancient Christian Cemetery in Israel has Leprosy evidence.
However, Israel is missing most bodies and bones from cemeteries, as publications from Israel archaeology attests.
A Canaanite jar of c. 1411 to 1314 B.C. attests to Hansen's Disease.
No more critics comments.
Alexander arrived in Israel in 3 B.C. His army had Hansen's Disease.

Seti II, Tale of 2 Brothers and Salt Papyrus refer to step-brother Mose. 1200 B.C.
The affliction was diagnosed from the following symptoms: subcutaneous lesions with hairs turning white (Lv 13.3), spreading lesions (Lv 13.7–8), lesions with ulceration (Lv 13.11), secondary infections with ulceration (Lv 13.15), deepseated lesions spreading from a healed ulcer (Lv 13.22) or from the healed scar of a burn (Lv 13.25, 27), spreading lesions on scalp or chin or forehead (Lv 13.30, 36,43)

What Biblical Thoughts exist on Jesus asking for silence? Jesus is God, in Pandemic we can have a good idea why Jesus asked this man for quiet.
Mark 2
And when he returned to Capernaum after some days, it was reported that he was at home.
2 And many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even at the door. And he was preaching the word to them.
3 And they came, bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men. 4 And when they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him, and when they had made an opening, they let down the bed on which the paralytic lay.
5 And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”
6 Now some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts, 7 “Why does this man speak like that? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
8 And immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they thus questioned within themselves, said to them, “Why do you question these things in your hearts?
9 Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise, take up your bed and walk’?
10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he said to the paralytic— 11 “I say to you, rise, pick up your bed, and go home.”
12 And he rose and immediately picked up his bed and went out before them all, so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”
What we have seen in the Pandemic, during grave illness, the leaders look to the local mob thinking and join in. If the majority want lockdown, then lockdown. If the majority want no masks, then no masks. Jesus again gathers most of Capernaum. And the leaders show up to see how Jesus will heal. Will more Lepers with 30 year intense illness shows up. Or if the style of healing is acceptable to their authority.
The worst spreadable illness in the day is Leprosy.
Jesus has raked up concerns the people might be encouraged to interact and spread Leprosy.
Is Jesus looking Healthy? Jesus has rocked the boat now. Why didn't Jesus know the man
was going to speak up about being healed? Jesus probably did know. God revealed and Jesus knew
the man was going to speak up. But why not ask. The man was probably too overjoyed to remain silent.

Email registry at bottom.! “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Men “moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say.
The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation.
The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
