Romans 12:9-21
9 Let love be genuine.
Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
10 Love one another with brotherly affection.
Outdo one another in showing honor. 11 Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.
12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.
Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.
15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. 17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.
18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. 19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.”
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
I didn't know how much life would change from the Covid Pandemic. Yet, life really changed. While I was still pretty naive about Covid, I remember 4 events standing out.
A friend called to say they were ruined in retirement age. And they found their legs. Thank God.
A young 20s woman burst into bawling tears at Starbucks, saying she was too young to die and what about her family. Seeing her comforted.
A Veterinarian, on Social Media, said she had changed her name to make this Post about how hard it was to see families struggle to pay for vet care and the animals that live with the necessities. The hardships she sees for people and the pets. Her interactions with choices and care. And her desire to cope and not drown. The overwhelming support she received. Perhaps the overwhelming love really helped because she did not post again. And her profound thanks.
My mother always joked when she was done in and couldn't hear or know, she wanted to be put in with birds with Bird Flu and leave the earth to fly to Heaven. Mother used up all her physical health and speech, movement, words, memories and contracted Covid. She had paid 26 years to have long-term health insurance because she wanted to pass on with plenty of calm people, oxygen and definitely morphine. And thanks to endless calls to Hospice, Mother had her care.
The pandemic has changed life.
Work patterns have changed. Travel is far more on the Holidays to gather with family. The Housing market is just bizarre, mortgage rates are what we had on two of our long-term houses. Almost half of all people in the USA say they think this is the end of the world, or at least privately worry. The working poor has increased dramatically with the fear to be able to afford necessities. Solutions are few, remedies are wrong and bad news rolls in with glee. Homelessness goes on for city blocks and is... Ignored?
What is Good? Where is Good?
81% of the United States really celebrated Easter, believing Jesus is the Risen Lord and will hear our prayers. Knowing that Pandemic Recovery makes people violent on airplanes. Traveling to see their families.
Luke 17:19
And he said to him, “Rise and go your way;
your faith has made you well.”
John 11:23
Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”
Luke 7 we will all know.
13When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said, “Do not weep.”
14 Then He went up and touched the coffin, and those carrying it stood still. “Young man,”
He said, “I tell you, rise up!”
15 And the dead man sat up and began to speak!
Then Jesus gave him back to his mother.
Abba, Father,
We thank You for Jesus
and His Salvation.
Amen in Jesus.
