Matthew 1
1 The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ,
the son of David,
the son of Abraham.
2 Abraham was the Father
2 Abraham was the Father
Of Isaac, and Isaac the father of Jacob, and Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers, 3 and Judah the father of Perez and Zerah by Tamar, and Perez the father of Hezron, and Hezron the father of Ram, 4 and Ram the father of Amminadab, and Amminadab the father of Nahshon, and Nahshon the father of Salmon, 5 and Salmon the father of Boaz by Rahab, and Boaz the father of Obed by Ruth, and Obed the father of Jesse, 6 and Jesse the father of David the king.
And David was the father of Solomon by the wife of Uriah, 7 and Solomon the father of Rehoboam
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David were fourteen generations, and from David to the deportation to Babylon fourteen generations, and from the deportation to Babylon to the Christ fourteen generations.
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way.
And David was the father of Solomon by the wife of Uriah, 7 and Solomon the father of Rehoboam
And Rehoboam the father of Abijah, and Abijah the father of Asaph, 8 and
Asaph the father of Jehoshaphat, and Jehoshaphat the father of Joram, and Joram the father of Uzziah, 9 and Uzziah the father of Jotham, and Jotham the father of Ahaz,
And Ahaz the father of Hezekiah, 10 and Hezekiah the father of Manasseh, and Manasseh the father of Amos, and Amos the father of Josiah, 11 and Josiah the father of Jechoniah and his brothers,
at the time of the deportation to Babylon.
12 And after the deportation to Babylon:
12 And after the deportation to Babylon:
Jechoniah was the father of Shealtiel, and Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel,
13 And Zerubbabel the father of Abiud, and Abiud the father of Eliakim, and Eliakim the father of Azor, 14 and Azor the father of Zadok, and Zadok the father of Achim, and Achim the father of Eliud, 15 and Eliud the father of Eleazar, and Eleazar the father of Matthan, and Matthan the father of Jacob, 16 and Jacob the father of :
Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom Jesus was born, who is called Christ.
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David were fourteen generations, and from David to the deportation to Babylon fourteen generations, and from the deportation to Babylon to the Christ fourteen generations.
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way.
When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. 19 And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly. 20 But as he considered these things
Behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying,
“Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is Conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will bear a Son, and you shall call His Name Jesus, for He will Save His people from their sins.”
22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet:
23 “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son,
and they shall call His Name Immanuel”
(which means, God with us).
23 “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son,
and they shall call His Name Immanuel”
(which means, God with us).
24 When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him: he took his wife, 25 but knew her not until she had given birth to a Son. And he called His Name Jesus.
The beginning of the Gospels is so very interesting. Matthew places himself in the Gospel, Truth, of Matthew, at the close of Chapter 9, almost Chapter 10. The early Christian Historians write Matthew wrote in Hebrew and then translated to Greek, to the best of his ability.Saint Jerome (born c. 347, Stridon, Dalmatia—died 419/420). Between 391 AD and 406 Saint Jerome produced a Latin translation of the Old Testament based upon the original text, a remarkable effort, considering the slender instruments at his disposal. Then Jerome moved on to the New Testament and was called to translate the Gospels to Latin, Jerome had many fragments of Matthew from the 3rd Century and the entire Gospel.
Matthew expects the Jewish life is understood by the child of God reading The Gospel of Matthew. He wants Jesus to be placed immediately in His Tribe and Fathers. A tax collector is going to want the narrative of who does what and where. Legitimacy would be a factor in tax collection. The view from Matthew's seat in the culture. This is a family, they will not be a bother to tax collection. And in fact, tax collectors can see them as someone who should be greeted.
The Gospel of Matthew is interested in the factions, the lines, the struggles and hopes for healing. We all take shortcuts in understanding one another, and Matthew sees what he has learned as God reveals his life. Matthew would be pleased to find Luke includes him as enduring in The Acts of the Apostles.
Papyrus is very orderly.
It reads like a list. And would have logic to follow for the events to be truthfully understood.
Matthew's list leaves the orderly and quickly becomes an understanding of the merciful nature of the godly, good and righteous. Mercy. Without an idea of the reward. Surely goodness and mercy will follow in footsteps, all the day of my life. Mary is with child, she is vulnerable. Joseph is merciful. God finds a willing way to speak to these hearts.
People will have understood in the oral discussions of the Birth of Jesus, He has been called the Christ, for the unique messenger of God's. One would either be stone cold to have a pregnant woman face a journey of such hardship. Or believe they have heard from God.
A list has become alive. Personalities bloom from the difficulties of being ruined, destroyed.
We are invited to see, the Life of Jesus and the Celebration of God's Deliverance of mankind.
Welcome to the First Gospel of Jesus Christ. Gospel, Truth.
Matthew's logic starts with Roots
The Base
The Cultural Norms
and then keeps explaining so much, much farther.
Luke 19:1-10
19 He entered Jericho and was passing through.
2 And Behold
There was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector and was rich.
And he was seeking to see who Jesus was
But on account of the crowd he could not, because he was small in stature. 4 So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for he was about to pass that way.
5 And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and said to him,
“Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today.”
6 So he hurried and came down and received Him joyfully. 7 And when they saw it, they all grumbled, “He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.”
8 And Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord,
“Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor. And if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I restore it fourfold.”
9 And Jesus said to him,
“Today salvation has come to this House, since he also is a son of Abraham. 10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
Mark 14:62
And Jesus said,
"I am
[the Christ, the Son of the Most Blessed] ,
and you will see
The Son of Man
seated at the Right Hand of Power,
and
coming with the clouds of Heaven."
I would like to say Thank You, to President and Mrs. Biden.
I have not agreed with a great number of the policies of the administration.
However, my thank you would be this:
The Americans, who showed faith in President Biden, will not have their primary vote shaken from them. The voters will have the voice the Constitution gave them.
The Bidens do not leave us in the hands of the elite to nullify their vote.
Thank you for this service, President and Mrs. Biden. By endorsing Kamala Harris, in this, the Bidens have left us within the framework so many veterans and others have given their lives to give us Freedom.
And in giving his large PAC endorsement, President Biden does not leave under the extreme and distasteful duress of Justice Stephen Breyer. Surely, our Nation would want to encourage those with a lifetime of service to the Nation to leave without the indignity of the bum's rush. No one would want to see this disservice to our Nation.
A good and long retirement, President and Mrs. Biden.
You have demonstrated recovery from family death and marital devotion. Thank you. In your retirement, let us remember the marital devotion the nation has witnessed and not the recent slander, useful only as a tool of fable. Let us remember your family devotion.
Thank you for your service. You uphold the Nation.
Abba, Father,
Our Father, Who is in Heaven
Come to us, Father.
Come to us, Holy Spirit.
Come to us, Jesus Christ.
Help us
each day
to see the Joy and Adventure
Jesus Christ sees
in John 14, 15, 16 and John 17.
To Be more Heaven on earth
To see more Heaven on earth
To say more Heaven on earth.
and
to Bless more Heaven on earth.
Every Day.
In the retirement of President Joe Biden,
Thank You
for his endorsement
enabling all the Americans
voting for him, to receive
their vote instead of
an abandonment of their Primary Votes
to elites
merely dictating.
Each day to
promote what is Good
what is Heavenly
what is a Blessing.
Father, in Heaven, Thank You,
Abide
in every moment
of our Lives.
The Lord God
Father of All
Saving the world
One moment at a time!!!
Eternally.
The Safety of
one
who has faithfully
served this Nation.
And is Loved.
Thank God,
for His Healing,
for your prayers, Kurt,
the worthy doctor, we prayed for
had to come home from brain West Nile rehab
due to Hurricane Beryl.
Kurt
is back walking, sitting,
climbing the stairs
and eating.
Since coming home as bedridden in rehab
to home to
his wonderful family and beloved wife.
God is GOOD!
Jesus is GOOD!
The Holy Spirit is GOOD!
We pray for the healing
of our Nation,
Nations.
The Grace, Mercy and Love
for
our Jesus Christ
His Father
and Holy Spirit
to prevail,
establish
and
fill
all our families
the ill
with His
Love
and Word of Healing.
Remembering what
Terry Bollea,
aka Hulk Hogan,
said about our words.
Are we the takers in life,
not helping our culture,
friends,
the people who know us,
our world,
to know
what God
would want us to have to say
and do.
We create the culture
in the Light of our life.
Let us
be Lights for the Lord.
With just our lives.
Eternal God,
in whose perfect Kingdom no sword is drawn
but the sword of righteousness,
no strength known but the
strength of Love:
So mightily spread abroad your Spirit,
that
All
peoples
may be gathered under the banner
of the Prince of Peace,
Jesus Christ
As children
of one Father;
to Whom be dominion
and
glory, now and forever.
Amen.
