Psalm 59 ~ O my Strength, I will watch for you †

Where is your mind... palace?

Psalm 46
God is our refuge and strength

Psalm 59

A Miktam of David, when Saul sent men to watch his house in order to kill him.

Deliver me from my enemies, O my God;
protect me from those who rise up against me;
2 deliver me from those who work evil,
and save me from bloodthirsty men.

3 For behold, they lie in wait for my life;
fierce men stir up strife against me.
For no transgression or sin of mine, O Lord,
4 for no fault of mine, they run and make ready.

Awake, come to meet me, and see!
5 You, Lord God of hosts, are God of Israel.
Rouse yourself to punish all the nations;
spare none of those who treacherously plot evil. Selah

6 Each evening they come back,
howling like dogs
and prowling about the city.
7 There they are, bellowing with their mouths
with swords in their lips—
for “Who,” they think, “will hear us?”

8 But you, O Lord, laugh at them;
you hold all the nations in derision.

9 O my Strength, I will watch for you,
for you, O God, are my fortress.
10 My God in his steadfast love will meet me;
God will let me look in triumph on my enemies.

11 Kill them not, lest my people forget;
make them totter by your power and bring them down,
O Lord, our shield!

12 For the sin of their mouths, the words of their lips,
let them be trapped in their pride.

For the cursing and lies that they utter,
13 consume them in wrath;
consume them till they are no more,
that they may know that God rules over Jacob
to the ends of the earth. Selah

14 Each evening they come back,
howling like dogs
and prowling about the city.
15 They wander about for food
and growl if they do not get their fill.

16 But I will sing of your strength;
I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
For you have been to me a fortress
and a refuge in the day of my distress.

17 O my Strength, I will sing praises to you,
for you, O God, are my fortress,
the God who shows me steadfast love.

Mark 10
32 And they were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking ahead of them. And they were amazed, and those who followed were afraid.

David created a song for Worshiping Father God, in His Temple - worrying about enemies. Kind of unusual, to be asked to sing about the horror of enemies. With repeat attacks. And yet, Jesus records in His Gospels about walking with Jesus Himself and feeling afraid.

God tells us our emotions are not to be repressed to present God our halo selves spiffed up for God's happy favor.

Jesus tells us prayer is even when we feel God has not been but an evil Judge. Pray impudently to Your Friend, Father God, who will allow you to pray impudently until the problem has moved past. Midnight. Like Passover. And in honesty and genuine love, find Joy in Father God. Reverence.

Enemy. A bold word. Far from the Joy of 'Behold'.

A label we hesitate to imply for the permanence of the word.

Winston Churchill said:

Of 3,000 pages in the Bible - few directly address the emotion of this word. Jesus began before Abraham and He said to really overcome - love your enemies. You will spend far less time worrying and far less time being drained. Move on.

How. Prayer. Find the human quality and pray for Love in their lives. Prosperity. Joy. And then allow the beams of light to fall upon your soul - gently.

Keep the roads of your emotional and Spiritual Life a good "High" way.

David, with all wisdom of God Himself, skips the why and when and fix. David realizes with Enemies the goal is weaken. Fight the Good Fight. Be Strengthened to move on. Pray for them to move on.

David didn't need the Drama. David needed the Victory to move on in God's Purpose.

How are we Strengthened. Oh elbows out. Rude and gory movies. Porn. Violent music. Substances. Really calming. Lots of violent images on computers. Sarcasm. Na. Finding the road forward might be the quick right or left turn into an oasis. And if all the adrenaline of caffeine and gossip is really just a mask and not a path forward - we might miss the turn off.

A few thoughts. To grab from the mind palace of Solace in Jesus Christ.

  1. We can always approach Jesus in Reverence.
  2. Even if we feel less than stellar inside from confusing ideas of anger and hurt, the woman who grabbed the Fringe of Jesus' seamless robe, given to Him with Love for His Love, was very low to be able to grab His Fringe.
  3. Jesus made sure the lower fringe was a good place to be.
  4. Miracles happen to the old. God is not interested in Age Discrimination. And old circumstances.
  5. We all can point to a Miracle in our own lives. Sometimes they hide as coincidences. Or Good Fortune.
Light and renew your Light and others in Jesus Christ. You will find strength.

We make ourselves Strong in Jesus Christ. We pave the road for polite behavior. We make allowances. We move away from those who want the Drama of endless conflict. We remove ourselves from lies. We make Peace.

We realize email and texts have flaws and can be not received. We allow the hope of God to soften hearts and minds.

The first photo is the path from Patmos village to John's house - great view. A Cave.

George Bush Sr was part of the CIA and his political thinking was never make an enemy, cross the aisle and shake hands. Some of his reasoning, has not benefited neighboring countries. It might have been too much too fast. Some has and some has been years studying to see the effects of covert and aisle changing.

So there isn't a firm answer. Situations change. We need help to bend. Soften us to receive different ideas. Be Strong.

The Path of Life can easily go 70 mph. Be Genuine. Be compassionate. Be who you are. Move on to be appreciated. Help when you can help. Pray at all times with compassion.

When we make straight paths within ourselves, we like us and are more open to God. This is the Strength. Doing what we can for others. Allowing all the dignity of being wise to do their own path in Jesus Christ. Be kind, it might be the only kindness the other Person receives all week. This is not going to the Right or the Left. Being straight with God who makes our Life.

Jesus was the One who welcomed the Children to come to God.

Father God has created the Universe and calls all the Stars and Heavenly Host by name. We are Blessed to be called His Child. God invites us, we are flowers of the field, to be His Child, and tell Him our prayers. Can we agree our prayers do not inform our God? Father God says have faith as a child. We can trust Father God to tell Him, who we are and ask His Help to be pleasing to Him. When we remember Father God living in our souls, we will remember Jesus holding the Leper. Washing the feet of the Disciples who were afraid and chased off women and children and asked Jesus if He wanted to bring down lightning on the Samaritans. Jesus has assured us the Giant God Gong - is not part of what Jesus has wanted the world to experience.

1 Peter 1:25
The word of the Lord stands forever

Instead our flawed world with upsetting news and unappreciative people and fussy gussy us-y brings Jesus to say He has compassion on us and would Shepherd our lives. Our hearts and souls to live forever with Father God.

What has Jesus brought us in the Holy Spirit to understanding the Nature of God in Psalm 59.

We moan and complain with real merit and real emotion about the slings and arrows of outrageous circumstance. Jesus tells us this:

O Lord, laugh at them;
you hold all the nations in derision.

Psalm 37:13
The Lord laughs at the wicked, for he sees that his day is coming.

Zephaniah 1:7
Be silent before the Lord God! For the day of the Lord is near; the Lord has prepared a sacrifice and consecrated his guests.

Philippians 2:9-11
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Joel 3:14
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.

We would pray for ourselves and those we love and pray for that derision is not involved in His Decision.

1 Peter 1:25
The word of the Lord stands forever

9 O my Strength, I will watch for you,
for you, O God, are my fortress.
10 My God in his steadfast love will meet me;
God will let me look in triumph on my enemies.

Matthew 25:32
All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

1 Peter 1:25
The word of the Lord stands forever

11 Kill them not, lest my people forget;
make them totter by your power and bring them down,
O Lord, our shield!

12 For the sin of their mouths, the words of their lips,
let them be trapped in their pride.

For the cursing and lies that they utter,
13 consume them in wrath;
consume them till they are no more,
that they may know that God rules over Jacob
to the ends of the earth. Selah

14 Each evening they come back,
howling like dogs
and prowling about the city.
15 They wander about for food
and growl if they do not get their fill.

Revelation 21:8
But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.

16  I will sing of your strength;
I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
For you have been to me a fortress
and a refuge in the day of my distress.

2 Samuel 22:3
My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge, my savior; you save me from violence.

17 O my Strength, I will sing praises to you,
for you, O God, are my fortress,
the God who shows me steadfast love.

Nehemiah 8:10
Nehemiah said, "Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord.

Do not grieve,
for the joy of the LORD is your strength."

Nehemiah 8:12
Then all the people began to eat and drink, to send out portions, and to rejoice greatly

because they understood the words that had been made known to them.

Deuteronomy 26:11
So you shall rejoice--you, the Levite, and the foreigner dwelling among you

--in all the good things the LORD your God has given to you and your household.

Daniel 1 ~ And God gave Daniel favor and compassion in the sight of the chief

Daniel 1

1 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. 2 And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with some of the vessels of the house of God. And he brought them to the land of Shinar, to the house of his god, and placed the vessels in the treasury of his god.

3 Then the king commanded Ashpenaz, his chief eunuch, to bring some of the people of Israel, both of the royal family and of the nobility, 4 youths without blemish, of good appearance and skillful in all wisdom, endowed with knowledge, understanding learning, and competent to stand in the king's palace, and to teach them the literature and language of the Chaldeans. 5 The king assigned them a daily portion of the food that the king ate, and of the wine that he drank. They were to be educated for three years, and at the end of that time they were to stand before the king. 6 Among these were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah of the tribe of Judah. 7 And the chief of the eunuchs gave them names: Daniel he called Belteshazzar, Hananiah he called Shadrach, Mishael he called Meshach, and Azariah he called Abednego.

8 But Daniel resolved that he would not defile himself with the king's food, or with the wine that he drank. Therefore he asked the chief of the eunuchs to allow him not to defile himself. 9

And God gave Daniel favor and compassion in the sight of the chief of the eunuchs, 10 and the chief of the eunuchs said to Daniel, “I fear my lord the king, who assigned your food and your drink; for why should he see that you were in worse condition than the youths who are of your own age? So you would endanger my head with the king.”

11 Then Daniel said to the steward whom the chief of the eunuchs had assigned over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, 12 “Test your servants for ten days; let us be given vegetables to eat and water to drink. 13 Then let our appearance and the appearance of the youths who eat the king's food be observed by you, and deal with your servants according to what you see.”

14 So he listened to them in this matter, and tested them for ten days. 15 At the end of ten days it was seen that they were better in appearance and fatter in flesh than all the youths who ate the king's food. 16 So the steward took away their food and the wine they were to drink, and gave them vegetables.

17 As for these four youths, God gave them learning and skill in all literature and wisdom, and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

18 At the end of the time, when the king had commanded that they should be brought in, the chief of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. 19 And the king spoke with them, and among all of them none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Therefore they stood before the king. 20 And in every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters that were in all his kingdom.

21 And Daniel was there until the first year of King Cyrus.

Blessing. Adversity. Fear. Salvation.

Jeremiah 39
11 Now Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had given orders about Jeremiah through Nebuzaradan captain of the guard, saying, 12 “Take him, look after him, and do not let any harm come to him; do for him whatever he says.”

The Second Exodus of Israel is well documented by cuneiform.

God's Mercy has been at work every day.

1 Chronicles 4
9Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.” 10 And Jabez called out to the God of Israel, “If only You would bless me and enlarge my territory! May Your hand be with me and keep me from harm, so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted the request of Jabez.

Pain created the need in Jabez to seek and find God's Help and Blessing.

In 2002, we had a very wonderful afternoon filling our house with Christians from Sheffield, England. We had a group of people reading in our outdoor spa with books held high above the water. People visiting all over the breakfast table. The house was filled. The Consensus of the afternoon was discussed at the end of the day. Why had World War II crippled the Churches of Europe and the U.K.?

The Liturgy has been read for Centuries. Usually this is usually a morning Psalm, an evening Psalm, a reading from the Old Testament, Epistle - a Book from the New Testament, and a Gospel Reading. Usually travelers find comfort knowing the Liturgy, read for a millennium or more, is being read world wide to create uniform prayer. A unity of the communion of saints.

The question that day - so long ago - why did the Scriptures and the worship fail to bring the people of God to Church in the years following the Wars? Why didn't the Liturgy sustain people?

People in great trauma rarely lead one another well. Winston Churchill feared nothing involved in the World Wars would ever recover. And the people of Sheffield at my house said it was read as if it was tradition and not the Salvation of mankind in this fight - today.

A lot of times the Liturgy, when placed together like a puzzle - can challenge you to find in the Living Word of God - the connection of your thoughts. But in dire times - people, perhaps, are overwhelmed.

On Saturday, I was reading Luke 4, Jesus in the Synagogue of Nazareth and the Spirit of God moving outside of borders. Jesus was attempted to be stoned. The next day, I was reading John 10, people decided to get Jesus again for proclaiming Himself Shepherd, True Shepherd. And both times the people came to Jesus in multitudes.

Leading to the reading of Matthew 25. The Ten Talents and the one talent servant. The Servant with Ten Talents, believes God is Good. To whom much is given, much is required. Jesus Believes, Today, God is Good. The Servant with Ten Talents is sure God's Purpose is Good. And Jesus being attacked, believed God would work all things for good for those serving His Purpose.

In War, people are depressed. The whole world seems hostile and destroyed. And God says Believe something will arrive in the favor and goodness of God's Mercy.

To know the Scriptures is to Know the Power of God.

Romans 8:28
And we know
that for those who love God
all things work together for good,
for those who are called according to His purpose.

God never leaves nor forsakes us. What does God do when mankind can not fill every dot and iota of Scripture with faith themselves?

Mark 10 explains
32 And they were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking ahead of them. And they were amazed, and those who followed were afraid.

God never leaves nor forsakes us.

When we are of little faith, God will help. We just ask Jesus. He will do what He has done for others who were weak or afraid.

John 21
After this Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias, and he revealed himself in this way. 2 Simon Peter, Thomas (called the Twin), Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together. 3 Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We will go with you.” They went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing.

4 Just as day was breaking, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. 5 Jesus said to them, “Children, do you have any fish?” They answered him, “No.” 6 He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, because of the quantity of fish. 7 That disciple whom Jesus loved therefore said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment, for he was stripped for work, and threw himself into the sea. 8 The other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net full of fish, for they were not far from the land, but about a hundred yards off.

9 When they got out on land, they saw a charcoal fire in place, with fish laid out on it, and bread. 10 Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish that you have just caught.” 11 So Simon Peter went aboard and hauled the net ashore, full of large fish, 153 of them. And although there were so many, the net was not torn.

12 Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.”

Now none of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord. 13 Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and so with the fish. 14 This was now the third time that Jesus was revealed to the disciples after he was raised from the dead.

Even our difficulties - create the time to realize our worth in God. To realize our Faith. To realize we have willingness to God. A reason to find gratitude.

Abba,

We Thank You every day Your Mercies Renew. You send us people to pray with. You give us Love and Loved ones. You give us Fellowship.

Thank You for the favor You have given to those I Love. Thank You.

We pray even more pleasing to You to remember to pray to Seek You first, and Live in Love, Peace and Joy. To Love You is to have Joy.

Psalm 91 ~ abide in the shadow of the Almighty

Dead Sea Scroll Plate 999.1 Psalm 91 first two columns, Psalm 101, Psalm 102

Psalm 91

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.

4 He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.

5 You will not fear the terror of the night,nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the recompense of the wicked.

9 Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—

the Most High, who is my refuge—
10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
no plague come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you

to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder;
the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.

14 “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;

I will protect him, because he knows my name.
15 When he calls to me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”

Scripture explains Scripture.

Abba,

You have told us since Genesis You are with us always. You, Father, hear all Prayer.

Daniel 9

"Now, Lord our God, who brought your people out of Egypt with a mighty hand and who made for yourself a name that endures to this day, we have sinned, we have done wrong. 16 Lord, in keeping with all your righteous acts, turn away your anger and your wrath from Jerusalem, your city, your holy hill. Our sins and the iniquities of our ancestors have made Jerusalem and your people an object of scorn to all those around us.

17 “Now, our God, hear the prayers and petitions of your servant. For your sake, Lord, look with favor on your desolate sanctuary. 18 Give ear, our God, and hear; open your eyes and see the desolation of the city that bears your Name. We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy. 19 Lord, listen! Lord, forgive! Lord, hear and act! For your sake, my God, do not delay, because your city and your people bear your Name.”

Today, Father, You have saves us so many times throughout all times and seasons,
Your Might Works and Acts have taught us Your Mighty Hand.

Father God, You have made for Yourself a Name, Jesus Christ, to endure eternity.

Now this day, We pray in the Name of Jesus.

In Jesus' Name we ask Your Righteousness cover us and Your Mercy and Grace are given when we have sinned and done wrong.

Father God, in keeping with All Your Righteous Acts, turn from anger and wrath to those who call upon You in Jesus, Your people, Your Beloved, Your Book of Life.

Jesus covers our generations and our failures and faults. You are our Refuge.

Today, You are working. Please hear the prayers and petitions of Your Beloved Children.

For the sake of Jesus, look with favor when we are desolate within.

Give Your compassionate and merciful ear, Father God and hear us. Open our eyes to see the desolations have past and gone, we ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. We pray for those we Love to know Your Love and Holy Spirit to keep them in Jesus.

Thank You, Father God, You have listened ask you did for Nathanael, Help us to always Seek Your First. Seek Your Heaven and Your Will done on earth as in Heaven. To live in Love, Peace and Joy.

In the Name of Jesus, We do not make requests of You because we are righteous, but because of Your great mercy. Thank You Father God, You listen! Lord, forgive! Lord, hear and act!

For Your Son, Jesus, my God, do not delay, because your people bear know Your Name Jesus Christ.

Jesus, we ask Your Blessings to speak of Your Love as Life. Save those we Love. Help Love have all the opportunity to Love and thrive. In Jesus, Amen.

Email registry at bottom.! “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Men “moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
