John 6:16-24 ~ A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough

John 6:16-24

When evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, 17 where they got into a boat and set off across the lake for Capernaum. By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. 18 A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough. 19 When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were frightened.

20 But He said to them, “It is I; don’t be afraid.”

21 Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and
immediately
the boat reached the shore where they were heading.

22 The next day the crowd that had stayed on the opposite shore of the lake realized that only one boat had been there, and that Jesus had not entered it with his disciples, but that they had gone away alone. 23 Then some boats from Tiberias landed near the place where the people had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks.

24 Once the crowd realized that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats and went to Capernaum
 in search of Jesus.

It is written:

John 9:4
“We must work the works of Him who sent Me
as long as it is day;.
night is coming when no one can work.”

John 11:10
It is when a person walks at night that they stumble, for they have no light.

We can learn about The Word Of GOD made manifest — Jesus our Lord — from what is written.

  1. Psalm 139 tells us that nothing is dark to God. He is Light. He is not going to stumble because He is God.
  2. Walking on water — at night — was not “work” to Jesus. This was Joy!
  3.  John 17:13
“I am coming to you now,
but I say these things while I am still in the world,
so that
they may have the full measure of my joy
within them.”

This point is wonderful. Jesus abides in God — His fruitfulness is Joy.

The Jesus boat is a miracle

Moshe and Yuval Lufan, brothers and fishermen from Kibbutz Ginosar, discovered the Ancient Galilee Boat buried in the mud near the shore of the Sea of Galilee.

The discovery of the boat rocked the archeological and spiritual world.

Never before was such an ancient vessel found so complete. The boat positively dated to the First Century BC — the boat which is so amazingly intact — could have been the very same vessel on which Jesus sailed the Sea of Galilee.

The vessel is 9 meters long, 2.5 meters wide and 1.25 meters high. The measurements suit those used by ancient fishermen employing a seine, or dragnet, “cast into the sea” as described in Matthew 13:47-48.

One of the brothers stumbled upon some wood, and after a little digging, determined that the wood was actually a boat. According to the brothers, a double rainbow revealed itself in the sky after the find.

Recreation of the Jesus Boat.

The finding of the Jesus boat. This was something the brothers Moshe and Yuval Lufan had tried to do for a long time. They were fishermen and the Sea was not yielding fish in the drought. During a massive drought. Typical Kibbutz communities flourish on crops they grow themselves. This was a time they had the time to look for the ship because all productive enterprises stilled to a crawl.

The timing of the Jesus boat found,  the men had been sitting and worrying and fear was present. This was a time when the waiting had taken a toil.

God requests us to pray about anything. God is so talkative to us, we could call Him chatty. He connects the Scriptures from before Abraham, well before the Bronze Age. To Peter. Peter tells us Genesis  explains God by saying, “A day to God is thousands of years.”

Making John 6, and the concept of the Immediacy of Jesus, fully wondrous and remarkable in my eager heart. We all believe God could work a little faster. Jesus is full of the word, “Immediately.” As a deer pants for water, we want to See Jesus Do, what we personally consider our ...   “This.”

Luke 10:23-24
Then Jesus turned to the disciples and said privately,
“Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.
For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”

 Matthew 13:16-17
Blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.

The Goodness God provides in our lives, we must retain.
His miracles we must recount. Expectation when He wants to Act again. But not falling into worry or despair, having seen God Act before.

Romans 12:9
Love must be sincere. Detest what is evil; cling to what is good.

1 Thessalonians 5:21
Hold on to what is good

1 Timothy 6:12
Fight the good fight of the faith.
Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called
when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He will make straight your paths.

Deuteronomy 4:6
Observe them carefully, for this will show your wisdom and understanding in the sight of the peoples, who will hear of all these statutes and say,
“Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.”

Deuteronomy 4:9
Only be on your guard and diligently watch yourselves,
so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen,
and so that they do not slip from your heart as long as you live.
Teach them to your children and grandchildren.

Love the Lord with all your heart. Love covers a multitude of sins.

Matthew 6:33
Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness,
and all these things will be given to you as well.

Know the Scriptures, Know the Power of God.

Psalm 128 ~ within your house

Psalm 128

1 Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord,
who walks in His ways!

2 You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands;
you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you.

3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine
within your house;
your children will be like olive shoots
around your table.
4 Behold, thus shall the man be blessed
who fears the Lord.

5 The Lord bless you from Zion!
May you see the prosperity of Jerusalem
all the days of your life!

6 May you live to see your children’s children
— peace be on Israel.

Ripples

If you'd been in college during the 1980s, you know the bumper sticker, “No Fear.” Sounded wise to all of us taking advice from bumper stickers. Psalm 128 disagrees.  Fear is part of the Blessing twice. This is a joyful Psalm and speaks of meaningful, wholesome life. We've been part of fear.  The disciples knew fear. Too much was going on that was far from the usual day to day.

What has the United States found to create the determination to go forth.

Work. Church. Vacation.

Jam ourselves into historic traffic jams in the National Parks to see what God provides in His Good Creation.

And a housing market no one recalls ever seeing. The Great Depression saw vast movement. Across the USA, no one wants to sell their home, markets were typically 2 or 3 thousand sales for spring, summer and fall homes now have around 190 houses. At first, there was record-breaking pricing. Everyone worried about Corporate Ownership, but by July, not as much was selling. Mortgage Lenders were telling people not to give up, pleading for buyers not to stay home, saying more houses listed more reasonably. Buyers had hunkered down. People began searching with any mention of a possible house outside typical markets.

Surely houses are marketable. But also this is speaking of lives. Hopes.

We didn't see a gold rush continue on housing. Buyers settled in to wait for more reason to return. And we see what people are treasuring. After staying home, the place we put our lives upon became much more important.  During the Pandemic, people said don't gather.

Don't Holiday. Don't Dinner Party — see you at Walmart or Home Depot. Home Depot was the place where parking was hard to find. Home work.

We see changes internally, creating more determination and resiliency. Then Home Improvement, working on what is at hand, what God has provided. Now we find people want their homes. And we find more are willing to speak up more effectively and kindly. Hearing of opportunities to help one another and acted upon. Starting internally, shining outward.

Pandemic isn't speaking of stay home and bounce a tennis ball. Watch TV until fossilized. People made this the time for Home Improvement. Essential Workers were Repair and Home Services.

Fear. Using what is around you to make choices. Not accepting the unwise, unacceptable behaviors. Rejecting what should be removed. It's already odd to watch footage of the Pandemic Cities. Yet, some larger cities, New York City are still having much more incredibly quiet side streets in 2021. Making prudent choices.

We see wildly strange circumstance and eventually bounce back from fear to good choices. How is this happening? No one mentions 2/3rd's of Americans are feeling much more connected to God. They didn't say to the Lord, Thanks for the Pandemic, off to hang with germs. Instead, people have thought about what makes life meaningful. They may be pushed to comply with new events, and then they don't. And adjust to their own home. Or they make the home lovelier.

Violence has occurred, as usually occurs at the end of a Pandemic. The reasons for the violence are not forgotten.  Change happens. Old patterns repeat. New resilience employs better methods for more solutions. Monty Python created, “The Art of Not Being Seen.” We have found more methods to being heard, seen and more effectively without destroying what is good surrounding us. Our lives reflect gratitude for what has been given to us. Gratitude.

Scriptures record His Mercies are new each day. Look at the Gratitude in our Lives, we look to find His Mercies in each day.

Scriptures tell us remnant people are provided in each situation. We look a lot like countless people remain. Doing a similar good work. Gratitude. Finding wise, merciful, expressive solutions. Praying more. Believing Change will work for good with our involvement. Believing the USA has good people.

People overcoming Hurricanes discuss with Houston what this is like. It's a marathon, not a sprint. Speak of good people who volunteer to help. Meeting good people. The people I know with Covid remember with gratitude prayers and prayers and food being brought.

We don't find people afraid the Freedom of Speech is ending. The opinions of the people begin to change the agenda and news, so many deserted.

The Grateful Hearts of the Children of God create a new path forward, taking care of one another. Rejecting what is wrong, holding fast what God calls good. Gratitude given to the people who have done well for one another and giving time, prayer and service.

Isaiah 40:31
But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.

Abba, Father God,

You have told us to always pray with Hope.

Jesus help us in this Nation to be in Your Word and see more Joy.
Covered in God's Love,
All of Our Families.
The Hope in the USA for Better Days.

Governor Abbott and all 50 Governors and Legislatures.

The end of Trouble.
Help this Virus end quickly, safely

We rest in the Hands of Our Good Father.
Dwell in our Hearts, and those we Love.
Bless this Nation asking You.
Help us to seek You first always.
And with Your Love and Mercy we will finish well.

In Jesus Christ. Amen.

Jesus, God of Encouragement.
God of All
Jesus, Hope and Future.
Jesus the Lord
saves the world
Amen.

Email registry at bottom.! “All Scripture is inspired by God” (2 Timothy 3:16). Men “moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Spirit carried men along, moving and guiding them as they wrote in their own words what God wanted them to say. The Bible is unique; comprised of 80 separate books, & written over a period of thousands of years by more than 40 writers with one Author, spanning the centuries, different states of peace & war & different situations in life. The Bible answers the question: of who is God, who is man & what can their relationship can be. Although the Bible was written on perishable material and copied by hand for many centuries, its accuracy is not in doubt, proven by Dead Sea Scrolls and papyrus from 2,000 years. The Bible has survived persecution & criticism to be read with great interest in each generation. The Bible gives witness to the greatness of the Creator. A loving Father concerned for all of his creation. With each verse of the bible witnessing to God is love and the multitude & vastness of His attributes. The Bible was written for you. <><
