John 1:5
The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
Psalm 97
The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice;
let the many coastlands be glad!
2 Clouds and thick darkness are all around Him;
righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.
3 Fire goes before Him
and burns up his adversaries all around.
4 His lightnings light up the world;
the earth sees and trembles.
5 The mountains melt like wax
before the Lord,
before the Lord,
before the Lord
of All the earth.
of All the earth.
6 The heavens proclaim His righteousness
And all the peoples see His glory.
7 All worshipers of images are put to shame,
who make their boast in worthless idols;
worship him, all you gods!
8 Zion hears and is glad,
and the daughters of Judah rejoice,
because of your judgments, O Lord.
9 For You, O Lord, are most high over all the earth;
You are exalted far above all gods.
10 O you who love the Lord, hate evil!
He preserves the lives of His saints;
He delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
11 Light is sown for the righteous,
and joy for the upright in heart.
12 Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous,
and give thanks to His Holy Name!

He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
On God rests my salvation and my glory;
my mighty rock, my refuge is God.
Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your heart before him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah

has shown us His glory and greatness,

Therefore strong peoples will glorify you;
cities of ruthless nations will fear you.
4 For you have been a stronghold to the poor,
a stronghold to the needy in his distress,
a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat;
for the breath of the ruthless is like a storm against a wall,
5 like heat in a dry place.
You subdue the noise of the foreigners;
as heat by the shade of a cloud,
so the song of the ruthless is put down.

Twelve lions stood on the six steps, one at either end of each step. Nothing like it had ever been made for any other kingdom.
On this Easter's Road to Emmaus, we have all suffered fear this year. And instead of denial, we have faced our fears. And in this strength, we will be encouraged and will overcome.
The Road to Emmaus is the still small voice of the Jesus Giving us the Holy Spirit to help us to have calm, to have strength and Joy and to Light our path. Matthew saw Jesus differently thank Mark, Luke or John and, yet, this is God's Joy and Strength establishing our Journey He has given us.

a shelter from the storm,
like streams of water in a dry place,
like the shade of a great rock in a weary land.
Joshua 4:18
And when the priests bearing the ark of the covenant of the Lord
came up from the midst of the Jordan,
and the soles of the priests' feet were lifted up on dry ground,
