Isaiah 1:11-20 ~ Learn to do Good

Isaiah 1:11-20

“What to me is the multitude of your sacrifices?

    Says the Lord;

I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams

    and the fat of well-fed beasts

I do not delight in the blood of bulls,

    or of lambs, or of goats.

12 “When you come to appear before me,

    who has required of you

  

  This trampling of my courts?

13 Bring no more vain offerings;

    incense is an abomination to me.

New moon and Sabbath and the calling of convocations—

   

 I cannot endure iniquity and solemn assembly.

14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts

    my soul hates;

they have become a burden to me;

    I am weary of bearing them.

15 When you spread out your hands,

    I will hide my eyes from you;

even though you make many prayers,

    I will not listen;

    your hands are full of blood.

16 Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean;

    remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes;

Cease to do evil,

    Learn to do good;

Seek justice,

    Correct oppression;

Bring justice to the fatherless,

    Plead the widow's cause.

18 “Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord:

though your sins are like scarlet,

    they shall be as white as snow;

though they are red like crimson,

    they shall become like wool.

19 If you are willing and obedient,

    you shall eat the good of the land;

20 but if you refuse and rebel,

    you shall be eaten by the sword

    For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

The Year 2020. The Year our Christmas Prayers centered on Christmas to become a New Year.

We can identify with God Himself. Enduring peaceful protest, peaceful protest, peaceful protest, peaceful protest peaceful protest peaceful protest. Stay home. Stay home. Stay home. Stay home. Be cautious. We endure iniquity and solemn assembly. New moons and your appointed feasts, and we hope our soul will not hate. They have become a burden to me;  I am weary of bearing them.

You know, I'm weary of the Pandemic. I'm weary of this weird world 2020. I'm weary to seek Justice as we have to watch the news. I'm weary to correct the oppression of agenda. Aren't we all?

The Strong.

Sorrowful to realize justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause is squashed in the two party tug of power and rest for the Holidays.

Jesus is the Light of the world.

Jesus is the Light of mankind.

When tired of being weary, we look up and find Jesus Helping. 

Listening to Christian Radio, the real and sincere discussion of being tired of this year. Realizing the heartfelt, profound and deep concerns of the people of God. This has gone so far, our concerns are shown on the more sincere National News. The Light of mankind forsakes keeping a job, in an industry afraid to step out of the agenda, afraid to be fired. The National News sometimes looks earnest and sincere in concern for the Nation. Breaking with the script and agenda and revealing sincere hearts.

Christmas is bringing out, revealing Hearts.

Some people are calling Christian Radio and hoping to avoid Christmas.

 And finding the Joy in finding God with us, to really say the weariness of self fussing, brings out our fear for each other. And in finding this compassion, we start to have real conversations. 

I'm always having Wonder about the Great Detail of Covid.

The Children don't really get this illness. Father God, I truly believe, is honoring the Love we carry for our Children. Doctors don't even know another huge Pandemic that didn't have the young and weak being carried out of this life. We found that last time, we stayed home to save each other. No one WANTS to do this again. 

And we have found caring for each other made us stronger.

I have two puppies. One is Steadfast and jumps in front of danger. Diligently lets the smaller puppy, be the one who soaks up all attention and Love. The smaller puppy preens and is loving and loving and loving. And all the love seems to be soaked up and removed to the Steadfast, Stronger Pup Dog.

Frequently, he looks sad. Grief is to love and not feel love is needed. Grief is Love feeling there is no place to go. We do go out of our way to try to balance this out. One is determined and one hangs back, yet protects vividly and determinedly.

Isaiah 57:10 

You were wearied with the length of your way, but you did not say, “It is hopeless”; 

you found new life for your strength, and so you were not faint.

Psalm 130

5 I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; 6 my soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning. 

 7 O Israel, hope in the Lord! For with the Lord there is steadfast love, 

 and with him is plentiful redemption. 

When Christmas is unbuilt.

Not everyone is dripping happiness in their weariness.

Sincerity is called for to find peace. 

We can't build upon something sinking. Find solid rock to find the ability to find real affection. We can't and shouldn't expect to put our pearls down to be squashed in the mud. God calls us not to mourn forever. We have to have God as our Rock.

Even when we don't volunteer for something new. We have to be Ruth following Jesus Christ.

Finding God's New Path and Direction.

Job 29:20 

my glory fresh with me, 

and my bow ever new in my hand.

Jonathon shot arrows far away to tell David to make a new direction. We find a new glory in God's New Direction. Gifts God will give in the New Direction.

Proverbs 3:5-6 

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and He shall direct thy paths.

Not Every Christmas Grin is Sincere

Not going in the direction of sarcasm for a Direction

Leaning on God is a Faith-Based Decision.

Psalm 37:4 

Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart

Putting it all out there - Front and Center.

Sincerity is sometimes called Complaining. But one thing is for sure: If I experience this difficulty, we probably all have some of this difficulty too. And when I tell you, we have honest conversation, and we are both strengthened, and we know that in enduring, we learn new skills and will prevail.

Repeating the conversation is less helpful. 

And repeating it again is Downer Debbie.

Isaiah 60:9

 For the coastlands shall hope for me, the ships of Tarshish first, 

to bring your children from afar, their silver and gold with them, 

for the name of the Lord your God, 

and for the Holy One of Israel, 

because He has made you beautiful.

Confidence, Weariness, Confidences Given, Weeping.

This year, I've seen non-weepers weep several times. Been Confident. Then Shaken. Heard end of life stories. Taciturn now give Confidence. To see Horror for oops, said too much.  Seen Confidences given produce run and flee from thee. 

Isolation?

No one is admitting much that Covid Brain is also sharing things we wish we hadn't, Or seen embarrassment cause dig down in, creating more isolation.

What Direction?

Matthew 5:16 

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. 

 Ephesians 2:10 

 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Summation: Forgive.

Found

With honest inner perception, we have to realize, we are all learning in the vast emotions of a pandemic,  a very unusual lesson. We have learned the phrase, 'Cancel Culture.' What then transpired, is learning our inner metal. We are all united. We are finding we need inner strength to go forth from Covid, the Great Cold. Because Weebles wobble, but they don't get back up. With so many wobbling in odd, knee-jerk, plotted reactions.

We have to find Joy in the Lord to find Strength.

This year I know of a 50-year-old woman who lost her husband to Covid. She had a Mother Dog who was mature and two of her dog's puppies. Her household was husband, wife and 3 dogs. This year she is Celebrating Christmas as a widow and her 3 dogs died of old age and medical complication. Covid has left more than children in a newly found 1 member household.

    Isaiah 1:17, James 1:27, Job 29:12-17

      Not mistreat or oppress strangers; Not take advantage of a widow or an orphan. 

 God defends the cause of the fatherless, widow and orphan. 

Particularly vulnerable are those who are Old at Christmas.

My Mother has so much Dementia, she signed her signature to the transportation giver 18 checks in 21 days. Her Caregiver didn't realize a pack of checks was taken and thought my mom would want to help her transportation provider some, since being told her transportation provider's husband was unemployed. Not a victimless crime. My mother was very hurt when the truth was explained to her, that day.

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His Love endures forever.

For God causes all things to work together for good for those who

Love the Lord

and work according to His Purpose.

I will proclaim the name of the Lord. Give our God the greatness he deserves. He is a rock. What he does is perfect. All of his ways are fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong. He is honorable and reliable.
