We wonder where Father God's Mercy is when we suffer. Winter always arrives. Most of us consider Winter to be more difficult to live. God expects we work to survive and thrive in Winter. And sometimes we have loved and enjoyed Winter. And some years find Winter was milder than we expected.
Matthew 5:7, 43-48
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’
44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven.
For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48 You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Matthew 5's Portion isn't a walk in the park, isn't a sunny day, isn't for grins.
People when given the "jump 15 feet straight up in the air idea", worry. And begin to want to stay away from "Religious Things." The Gospels have to give all the Good News. But the effort to ask, seek and find come from us all. People think and fear they have failed to live to God's High Standards. Then wonder if God is in this and is He really going to help in times of Suffering or Guilt. Because we want our Living Jesus to apply His Love to our lives. Make us want to grow to Jesus. And inspire us to know Helping Him is going to work instead of another effort of, "Gee I just can't." Jesus helps ~~~ worry.
And we might want to consider DL Moody's quote:
I'm not sure I remember being perfect for a day. A couple of hours. Maybe not.
Jesus tells us only God is Good. This is comfort to these Verses.
The Scriptures arrange the verses.
Carefully. With a skill of God Himself. God doesn't want us to feel impossibly burdened forever. Not glum in the Bible. Remember the Rich Ruler who went away feeling lost because he couldn't dot every iota of God's Word and Hope. Jesus said he would be saved, God does the Impossible.
Church parking lots are sometimes seen as angry places after a Sermon. To feel impossibly challenged isn't the aim of God. Jesus left His Children many times with the phrase, "He healed them all."
God wants Salvation in Jesus for the entire world.
The Exodus proves this. God tells us He plans for our Hope and Future. This forgiveness is mentioned with rain and sun. Sunrise, sunset. Wisely. Time as in the Prodigal Son. With the assurance, we can forsake anger. Faith. Believing forgiveness will arrive in totality. Giving a little bit of a start to forgiveness with Faith. Being dedicated to forgiveness for our health, happiness and the Way, Truth and Life.
Dedication in winter. To believe and plan and forgive again and again until the roots sink in well.
And if we smile and ask Father God, like a friend we nag to loan us bread at midnight, what would we "pray for" in this?
David would say... Mercy. David asks God to be Merciful 24 times, not even looking at variations on words similar to Mercy. The anointed of God asks for God's Mercy upon himself, Israel and for Peace.
Roman Emperors saw enough of these Verses of Matthew 5, to sense a difference, a change.
Claudius didn't enjoy mystery in his reign. He wanted no mysterious kindness. What if you couldn't command cruelty in war or justice or even the Coliseum games? Claudius does not go with the Victory when we consider History. The Merciful arrive Victorious. This is what stays with us, wherever we go.
The Victory in Jesus Christ.
Boundaries of Love. Our hearts will love and unlove. And Love again. Love grows with forgiveness. The world isn't static in sunny days. Believing there is Hope. Forgiveness sometimes causes such relief, possibilities exist again.
Opens up Paths we didn't know would be there. New boundaries in sunny days, and winter days.
Love is patient and kind. Love is work.
Love is not without a need for response. It's not to be taken lightly. Practice makes perfect.
Living Water for all season, soaking in and raising us Up.
We talk about Evangelism. This is part of these Verses.
Love takes it's time to be diligent, in all seasons, Love will remain and be warm. Love allows God given boundaries of trust and respect for the individual, not demanding our own way. Won't go to sleep once the hand is to the plow. And will do the work.
My Grandmother prayed for her son for sixty years. The Studies I've read on Evangelism, say this can take years. This can be immediate and miraculous. Those sixty years of prayers were found fruitful.
Be in the place to say, "I'm going to pray for you, if that is alright."
Love, the seeds we plant. God waters. God gives the sunshine. God gives the growth. And Jesus is immediate. We expect God to do the Salvation.
Mostly we put down the seeds.
Abba, Father God,
Today was another Day.
My mother had been ill with Alzheimer's for many, many, many years.
It's been very unpleasant. And isolating from rude behavior.
In October, my mother was admitted into Medical City in Dallas. Mother had a good attending Physician for her entire stay, who said her immune system was failing her.
Because of this, she would have a much more pleasant passing,
and more immediate passing than Alzheimer's allows.
Today, her doctor has called for Hospice.
The years will fall behind and the good memories will float up.
And we will remember the good childhood years.
The Mother who ran a home based on Jesus and goodness.
The Sunlight will visit from on High and the perfect days of
the past will live again, Our Father God is Perfect.
His Kingdom is Perfect.
God is Good.
As I looked for photos for prayer and praying in an office (because a friend of ours who has done so well in insurance says his office phone rings; he is speaking with the scared, and the injured and those in need). He hears their need and listens. And he says they depend upon him almost like a Pastor. After the events are discussed, he says quietly, "Can I pray for you?" And few turn him down, and he says a sincere prayer, touching soul and heart.
And many have told him their faith suddenly has heart and life again.
This is the Book of Acts of the Apostles. Alive.
And as I looked for photos of prayer in the office,
the only photos to arrive are of President Trump in the Oval Office.
I offer prayer for him. And hope you will join me in the goodness of your heart.
When we pray, we reach Father God and He is perfect.
Father, we ask in the Name of Jesus
for Your Word of Love and Healing to
Heal us all. This is a Pandemic and we are still getting the Daily Damage Reports.
Jesus is needed.
Dwell in us.
Help us to see Heaven
and be Heaven.
The Lord Jesus for us all.
Now and in the hour of our passing on.
Each day.
Amen in Jesus. Amen.
