1 Kings 18:20-21
20 So Ahab sent to all the people of Israel and gathered the prophets together at Mount Carmel. 21 And Elijah came near to all the people and said, “How long will you go limping between two different opinions?
If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him.”
And the people did not answer
him a word.
We know these chapters with great familiarity. This is Good New, the familiarity of God's Word. Let's see this again with new perspective. The passage from 1 Kings 18 is about fire. Fire and water. Luke 3, a baptism of fire. Fire from, "Let there be Light." Moses is traveling up the hill to find the unconsumed bush on Fire. Water, Jesus' willingness for baptism with the presence of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2, the Disciples trust God, the Father, not to consume them with flames of fire in the Holy Spirit.
Hebrews 12
Later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
12Therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, 13and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather be healed.
14 Strive for peace with everyone, and for
the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
Yes, this is these are the Chapters Ahab sees 450 prophets killed and Elijah hears the voice of God in calm and peace. No, Elijah wasn't fired. No pun intended, instead we know from Scriptures Horses arrive from Heaven to take Elijah to Heaven.
These Scriptures are hallmarked as important and imperative to know. We are very familiar with these Living Verses.
Recently discovered in Israel:
“Jerub-baal” is the nickname given to Gideon in Judges 6:31–32 after Gideon destroyed an altar to the pagan god Baal. It means “Let Baal contend with him.” It’s also the name found written on a pottery jug fragment excavated at Khirbat er-Ra'i, a site near Tel Lachish in southern Israel. One of Israel's best finds recently.
There is violence in life and in Scripture. Samuel knew violence, Eli, David as well. Israel was a small nation in the grips of vast Empire changes surrounding the Children of Israel. In Pandemic Recovery, we hear so much more about crime. Juarez, Mexico, had, pre-pandemic, about 6,000 murders a month. Usually, the highest murder cities in the USA have about 600 A Year. There is violence in the world. 100,000 immigrants are missing, unmarked bodies are buried; The Border is in chaos.
More and more knife violence in Japan and 70% up in Europe. Same everywhere.
No medical attention for people starving and walking for weeks. No assistance to learn the educational opportunities for children.
We find Peter failed the Lord. Thomas as well. John alone stood with Jesus on Good Friday. The Scriptures aren't like a guillotine, painting villainy and standing on personal judgment. This one or that is doomed. Instead: These are the Prodigal Son Years.
Even Ahab will be given A Prodigal Son warming His Father's Heart opportunity.
We have this opportunity as well. All of us. The Lord God wants to save the world in Jesus Christ.

Ahab is one of a number of Israelite kings mentioned in Assyrian records.
In his case, the record is not mentioned in the Bible. A Stele of the Assyrian King Shalmaneser III, found in 1861 at Kurkh on the Tigris river in southeastern Turkey.
The relief carving of Shalmaneser and an inscription recording the principal events of his first six military campaigns. In his sixth year, 853 BC, he describes a campaign to the west encountering a coalition of 12 states, including Israel. Shalmaneser engaged the coalition in battle at Qarqar on the river Orontes. In modern Syria, he claims to have defeated them. Ahab is named in the Stele as 'Ahab the Israelite.' He had one of the strongest forces in the coalition (2,000 chariots and 10,000 infantry) attesting to the wealth and power of the Israelite Kingdom at this time.
In the midst of war and theft, Ahab repents. Someone speaks to him. And the Lord knows, clearly, knows all the turbulent water King Ahab swims to stay alive. Yet, Ahab sees himself, as he is, and asks God for mercy. How many times do we remember the repentance of Ahab of wars, murder and theft?
We don't seem to stop and look at this.
And this is for us in these times of upheaval and changes we want to cease.
25 (There was none who sold himself to do what was evil in the sight of the Lord like Ahab, whom Jezebel his wife incited. 26 He acted very abominably in going after idols, as the Amorites had done, whom the Lord cast out before the people of Israel.)
27 And when Ahab heard those words,
he tore his clothes and put sackcloth on his flesh and fasted and lay in sackcloth
and went about dejectedly.
28 And the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
29 “Have you seen how Ahab has humbled himself before me? Because he has humbled himself before me, I will not bring the disaster in his days; but in his son's days I will bring the disaster upon his house.”
Jesus waited for his brothers and sisters to sort out his death, His own family mocked Him after the knowledge of Luke Chapters 1 and 2. They could see His Mission.
John 14:19
Because I Live, You Also Will Live.
Biblical saints. And then you have Jesus Christ. I like this Jesus Christ, so very, very well. Hezekiah accepted the fate of his Children. Eli accepted the fate of his Children. Saul did as well. Oh, om.

1 Peter 4:10
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:
1 Corinthians 12:7-11
To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.
Romans 12:6
Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us
Ephesians 2:8
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God
Ephesians 2:8
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God
Being up building to one another for the Glory of God.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up,
just as you are doing.
