Matthew 10:40-42
Whoever receives you receives Me,
and whoever receives Me receives Him Who sent Me.
and whoever receives Me receives Him Who sent Me.
The one who receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a Prophet's Reward,
and
and
the one who receives a righteous person
because he is a righteous person
will receive a righteous person's reward.
And whoever gives one of these little ones
even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple,
truly, I say to you,
he will by no means lose his reward.
When I was 16 years old, this was my absolutely favorite verse from Scripture. I was newly, a brand-new, Christian, working 2 afternoons a week for James Avery Jewelry. A young, beautiful toddler child was discovered in July, having been left in the car by his very shopping mother. I knew at once this child, crying still with tears, needed cool water. I jumped past everyone, to bring the child water. Not only for care and comfort, but this verse was one I knew well.
Off to Youth Group, I told my thoughts and the verse. In like Flynn. Rewards. Favor.
And immediately, the comments came in that if you do this knowing the verse, nah, nixed. No such Reward. The Christian comment and anti comment way of life. And so it is in life. The Comment. I was let down. Because I was 16 years old. However, we had the best Youth Group EYC Priest, Father Bill Clarkson. Bill took favor upon me and said he was going to do the next semester on the Rewards of God written in the Bible.
This idea had EYC, immediate, approval. I know you will be relieved to know, the comments by the first meeting, gave me the nod of approval for that Blessing. I still enjoy this. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow!
Hebrews 11:6
And without faith
it is impossible to please Him,
for whoever would draw near to God
must believe that He exists
and
that He rewards those who seek Him.
And we can roundly balance this out:
Job 38:7
When the morning stars sang together
and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Why go reward doing and looking?
Galatians 6:9
And let us not grow weary of doing good,
for in due season we will reap,
if we do not give up.
James 1:12
Blessed is the man
who remains steadfast under trial,
for when he has stood the test
he will receive the crown of life,
which God has
promised
to those who love Him.
Nothing in life is fair. If this statement was a bumper sticker, it would describe the vehicle. And might just say: "Warning, jump back, nothing in life is fair."
Hebrews 6:10
For God is not unjust
so as to overlook your work
and the love that you have shown for His Name
in serving the saints,
as you still do.
When it's just unjust, not justice, plain and simple, not fair...
Hebrews 11
32 And what more shall I say? For time would fail me to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets— 33 who through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, were made strong out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight. 35 Women received back their dead by resurrection. Some were tortured, refusing to accept release, so that they might rise again to a better life. 36 Others suffered mocking and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. 37 They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were killed with the sword. They went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, mistreated— 38 of whom the world was not worthy—wandering about in deserts and mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
And God would say, to the constant warrior, for peace?
Genesis 15:1
After these things
The Word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision:
“Fear not, Abram,
I am your shield; your reward shall be very great.”
The Lord did not tell His people to cast down pearls to be trampled. Not always speak. There is a time and a season for every season. We call this, today, to earn the right to be heard.
Matthew 6:6
But when you pray,
go into your room and shut the door
and
pray to your Father who is in secret.
And your Father who sees in secret
will reward you.
We always want victory with our own ideas and visions of the path forward. The Lord sees within our hearts to know we are just flowers of the field. The Battle is His. Prayer is actually a tremendous Work with God. He upholds the Universe with the Power of His Word. Prayer is monumental to the Lord.

God is love.
See what kind of love the Father has given to us,
that we should be called children of God;

The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.

but we know that when He appears we shall be like Him,
because we shall see Him as He is.
He was still speaking when, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said,
“This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him.”
Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you
and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.
