Matthew 26:6-13
Now when Jesus was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper
A woman came up to Him with an alabaster flask of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on His Head as He reclined at table.
8 And when the disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste? 9 For this could have been sold for a large sum and given to the poor.”
But Jesus, aware of this, said to them,
“Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a beautiful thing to me. 11 For you always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me.
12 In pouring this ointment on My body,
she has done it to prepare Me for burial.
Truly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is proclaimed in the whole world,
what she has done
will also be told in memory of her.”
Jesus, the Gospels tell us, was a man filled with emotions, humor, tears, weariness. But what was upsetting, primarily, His Authority. Combined with His tenderness. Beloved, His eyes and hands would convey.
Matthew 26 is not greatly perceived today. This isn't done except when expected, for prayer. For hope in healing. For the Blessing of God in new adventures. And the blessing of work, to glorify God.
When this is portrayed, today, we find it being uncomfortable, sensual, not clean looking, making His Disciples upset and not cheering up Simon, His host.
We are limiting ourselves. Jesus has His Presence. His Will is being accomplished. Jesus tells us in His Gospels, this oil Anoints Him. In His Way, as Messiah, perhaps the aroma comforts Him even to the Cross. Jesus tells us this moment is important to Him. Making the moment last for eternity, by His Word.
Give us this day, our Daily Bread.
The moment is intimate. Love. This is Prayer. The moment was witnessed, yet is the inner prayer life of a Child of God and the Messiah of All. And faces unenlightened critics, who might have overwhelmed an important moment. Jesus stops time and fixes the memory. Forever. For everyone.
This is our God. God of Love. God of encouragement. This is the God, The Prodigal's Father, we will find in Eternity. Today.
Give us this day, our Daily Bread.
Come to us, Father. Come to us, Holy Spirit. Come to us, Jesus Christ.
We welcome You.
Know every aspect of us. Every cell. All
Abide in every moment of our Lives.
The Lord God
Father of All
In Every Moment.
Gently Holding our Prayers.
Understanding the Best of us.
Knowing the worst.
Saving the world
One moment at a time.
Eternally.
Almighty God, our heavenly Father,
guide the nations of the world
into the way of justice and truth,
and establish among
them that peace which is the fruit of righteousness,
that they
may become the Kingdom of our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ.
Amen.
The Safety of one
who has faithfully
served this Nation.
And is Loved.
Eternal God,
in whose perfect Kingdom no sword is drawn
but the sword of righteousness,
no strength known but the
strength of Love:
So mightily spread abroad your Spirit,
that
All
peoples
may be gathered under the banner
of the Prince of Peace,
as children of one Father;
to whom be dominion
and
glory, now and forever.
Amen.
Forgive us in Your Mercy, Father.
Our flaws, sins and weaknesses
the doubt even Your Disciples had.
God of Love.
Have Mercy upon us all,
we pray in Jesus Christ.
Dwell in us, Father,
we ask in the Highest Name of Jesus.
Dwell, fully, in those we love
Help us to seek You
first
and we will finish well
in Jesus Christ.
We pray
Peace
for Israel
and Your Good Creation.
Continued Healing
and all Good Health!
Very Grateful for the help
we have received from each other
and God's Salvation.
