Philippians 4:9
The Message
Remember what I have taught you.
Remember the message that you heard from me.
Remember what you saw when I lived among you.
You also must do those same things.
God is the one who gives us peace in our minds.
He will be with you.
As we remember the 6 states in recovery from Hurricane Helene,
we should remember the past relentless, solid, determined stand the USA
has taken after shaken.
During World War II, the labor force was very depleted in the Victory War Effort. And for two years, the schools were asked to have Vacation Weeks to bring in the farm crops. And the Elementary to High School age children brought in the Harvest.
This tremendous effort is not well recorded in our History. And was a significant and important part of the Victory against the forces of darkness in Hitler.
The RED CROSS
200,000 people
evacuating
from New Orleans
for 12 months.
Now, if you were in charge, how would you feed 200,000 people for a year.
3 Meals a Day.
Why... I bet you'd send them a nice video and visit the devastation 6 Days later.
And if you happened to be in Hurricane Georgia, you'd skip that mess and spend the day grinning and giggling with a High School Band. 6 people to greet the Kamala Bus. Then back to DC to video the stricken crowds again.
In Texas, 2005, that happened quite differently.
If you guessed, the Red Cross fed 200, 000 people for 12 months.
BUT NOT BY THEMSELVES
THE CHURCHES formed a GRID and HELPED.
Navy Aircraft Carriers 1 meal, 70 cooks, 15,000 meals. Each $50,000
90% of the Red Cross is Volunteers.
The Katrina Disaster raised 2.1 Billion Dollars for the Red Cross.
200,000 people cost $150,000 a day to feed, equals 1 million and 50 thousand dollars a week. $1, 050,000. $4 million a month
During Katrina's first day of Recovery
Dr. Young got out a map and he made a grid of all of Houston, the Suburbs and small towns.
And Dr. Ed Young sent out phone messages to 7,000 Churches to come to 2nd Baptist to talk about the grid system recovery plan. The attendance was greater than 95%.
Our Church had two 4-story hotels in our Suburb. We took them dinner, every night for 4 months. How. Casseroles. And we called restaurants nearby for leftovers. Dimassi's Mediterranean gave leftovers and switched to giving gigantic casserole dishes. Congregants chipped in to help give some to Dimassi's Mediterranean, but they were Most Generous. We fetched, carried and listened to the displaced people tell about their lives. Tears became strength and within 4 months our New Orleans families had construction jobs to return to New Orleans. Before they left, they threw our Church a BBQ they provided from local Restaurants. We kept one mail carrier who relocated from USPS.
And then, we carried casseroles to the Astrodome. Met as you arrived, drop off, drive on. Filled with Church Volunteers. All over. All over. All over Houston, people carried meals. To the Astrodome series of buildings.
Philippians 4:9 ~ Do the same things
Please CHURCHES
surrounding states and dry areas of the state, form
youth group weekends,
young singles groups,
Choirs and Mens Groups
to go to the towns and cities
to help clean up
and feed.
Do this for a year.
Be the Hands and Feet
of Jesus.
Kamala and Biden
do not appear to be stepping up.
However, State Churches who are in the Safe areas
and maybe help from the High Schools with time off,
could help more than small organizations.
GIVE GENEROUSLY TO THE RED CROSS.
GIVE GENEROUSLY TO THE CHURCHES GOING FORTH.
Abba, Father,
Praise the LORD,
O my soul;
all
my inmost being
Who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you
with love and compassion
With Your Help,
believing all things work together
for those who Love You.
With Your Help
We will act justly
and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with You, our God.
Dwell in me,
Dwell in us,
Dwell in those we Love,
Help us to seek You first.
And we will finish well, in Jesus Christ.
Help us find and bring
to become
more Heaven
to this earth.
And the Nations of the world,
Your Good Creation,
Calling upon You.
In Jesus Christ is
Our Love, Joy and Hope.

Keep our food supply safe in the supply chain.
Support the Police.
Safety from Crime.
The Preservation
and Honoring
ALL of our Constitutional Rights.
Veterans fought for us.
For Worldwide Peace.
And the Peace of Israel.
The safety of Your people.
The safety of those
helping the earth
to heal.
Let evil and practicing evil
depart far from us
and our children.
The Healing
of the Nation
and earth.
And in Jesus - this Hope,
Faith and Love - we will rise up believing Jesus.
